Sashimi platter with red meat, surf clam, herring, and octopus - The ingredients were fresh and the restaurant seems to be doing a good job. Assorted appetizers - Tamago, umesuisho, chrysanthemum egg soy sauce, and scallop roe. Grilled tilefish - Thick and juicy, very satisfying! Nigiri sushi of flounder, red meat marinated, mackerel, engawa, surf clam, scallop, chu-toro, herring, scallop, and dried gourd roll with wasabi - All the sushi pieces were fresh and delicious. Seaweed soup - A comforting end to the meal. Overall, while the course didn't include high-end ingredients, the freshness of the fish was commendable. The rice was slightly warm and tangy, which was the only minor drawback. After us, there were four regular lady customers and a single male customer. They seemed to have plans at 8 p.m., so it might be best to make a reservation even on weekdays. We also added a shochu highball, bringing the total to 6,050 yen. This is a shop located in the Tanuki Koji Yokocho in Sapporo city called Sushi Kama Masahiro. It is located at the back of the food court. The shop has only 8 counter seats and used to be called Sushi Ryu Tanuki Koji store, but it seems that the former store manager has opened his own shop with a new name. This time, I ordered the special sushi. Each piece was carefully prepared, with good taste, good quality fish, the master's modest and polite customer service, good cost performance, and overall it was a great shop. Visit date 2023.7.9 at 5-chome of Tanukikoji, inside HUG EAT Tanukikoji Yokocho at the very back. It is the former location of Sushi Kamasu, the former Sushiryu Tanukikoji store. The appearance has changed with the addition of a door, giving it a noble atmosphere. The owner used to be the manager of Sushiryu Tanukikoji before peacefully leaving the company and starting his own business. I used to visit often for daytime drinking. He provided a friendly, soft, and enjoyable atmosphere, so I was looking forward to visiting. I arrived around 12 o'clock, with two other groups of customers. I had the sashimi cut randomly to start, and it was easy because they understood what I couldn't eat (laughs). The sashimi at sushi restaurants always has just the right amount, perfect for drinking. The ingredients are good, and I'm satisfied. The crab appetizer is irresistible with sake that just doesn't stop (laughs). The grilled dish was in short supply that day, but the grilled sea bream they made for me was delicious. They grilled the ingredients for the sushi, making it easy to eat (laughs). I couldn't stop drinking with the appetizer. The Negitoro roll, which I love, is really delicious here. The unique fat of Negitoro is irresistible. Adding shiso made it refreshing and delicious. The uni was sweet and delicious with saltwater. The ikura was lightly flavored, which I liked. I really like this place because it offers good sushi in a casual setting. When I asked if it was okay to dine without a reservation, the staff mentioned that they had reservations for four and one person starting at noon, but there was still space available. The restaurant has 8 seats, so I was able to enter. The young chef was running the place on his own. He mentioned that he used to work at "Sushiryu" before opening his own place. The menu consisted of only sushi, sashimi, and drinks. When I asked about appetizers, he said, "If you tell me what you don't like, I will serve you an omakase dish with everything else." As it was lunchtime, I opted for "Omakase Sushi" (3,500 yen) and a "Draft Beer" (600 yen). The sushi options included Special (3,500 yen), Upper (2,500 yen), and Regular (1,600 yen). Considering the location in the affordable "HUG Eat Tanukikoji Yokocho," I initially thought 3,500 yen was a bit expensive, but after trying the sushi, I found it to be worth the price. The 13 pieces included "Hokke," "Hime Masu," "Akami," "Ma Aji," "Sweet Shrimp with 2 pieces," "Nishin," "Hotate," "Hokkigai," "Hokke Liver Salad," "Medium Toro Aburi," "Medium Toro," "Kani," and "Uni." The meal also came with "Aosa Miso Soup." The rice was small, and the fish was topped with nikiri. The medium toro was served with aburi and had a good fatty texture. The Hokke included both fresh and "Liver Salad," which was rich in flavor. The Hotate was thick and sweet. The Sweet Shrimp came with two pieces topped with eggs. All the other pieces were equally satisfying. Each piece was carefully prepared and delicious. For the quality and presentation, 3,500 yen seemed reasonable. The chef's friendly and attentive service added to the overall positive experience. Despite being a small restaurant, it's no wonder they have many reservation customers!

On a certain holiday, I had lunch at a sushi restaurant located inside the Hug Mart in Tanukikoji 5-chome. The restaurant is located at the back if you enter from Tanukikoji, and it consists of only a counter just like before when it was a sushi restaurant. The background music playing was the lunchtime weather forecast from the TV. From the menu, I chose the "Chirashi (scattered sushi) - upper level (2500 yen)" this time. Taking a bite... Hmm, the vinegared rice was just right, with firm grains and a refreshing tanginess. As for the toppings... the cured mackerel was perfectly cured, the tuna had a good balance of lean meat and fat, the scallops cut into squares were fresh and sweet with a crispy texture, next to them was boiled scallop or maybe horse mackerel? It had an exquisite taste of a blue fish, the white fish was sweet, maybe it was a surf clam? It had a good texture and flavor, the flounder? It had a richness like fat, and the salmon roe, oh? What is this? I also found something like liver. The pickled ginger was pleasantly strong. Finally, I finished with a miso soup with seaweed. Suddenly, I realized that I chose the "upper" rank this time, and there were more varieties than I expected. Some of the toppings were very fresh and delicious. During a quiet lunchtime on a Saturday, entering the restaurant after being told it closes at 2:30 pm, I found a cozy setting with an 8-seat counter and a TV showing a drama rerun. The menu offered three options of sushi sets along with a few types of sake and drinks. I ordered the "Nigiri (Regular) @1,600 yen" and enjoyed a variety of fresh and well-prepared sushi pieces. The rice was slightly small, with a mild vinegar flavor, and the seafood was of high quality. The scallop was particularly fresh and delicious, and the red fish had a good amount of fat. The homemade vinegared mackerel was tender and flavorful, while the soup, "Aosa miso soup", was a bit salty for my taste. Overall, I was very satisfied with the meal and look forward to returning with my wife next time. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Overwhelming cost performance! It's a hidden gem located at the back of the food court, so not many people notice it. The chef, who runs the place alone, focuses on using ingredients from Hokkaido. I had the special sushi set for 3500 yen, and it was truly amazing. The quality of the ingredients and the humble yet excellent service from the chef were outstanding. Being able to enjoy sushi that would easily cost double in Tokyo, in the heart of Sapporo, was a delightful experience.

The friendly owner placed each dish on the plate for me to enjoy. The meal included miso soup and a variety of dishes such as scallops, thick scallop slices, herring, horse mackerel, pickled mackerel, medium fatty tuna, and finally salmon roe to finish. The total cost was 2,500 yen.
