After work, I stopped by for a gathering at a restaurant in Ikebukuro East Exit, Sunshine Street. This restaurant offers a variety of dishes cooked on an iron griddle. The prices are very cheap, with a beer costing only 190 yen. I used to frequent a similar restaurant nearby during my student days, but as a working adult, I haven't been able to visit as often. This time, my subordinate made a reservation and I visited for the first time in decades. We enjoyed dishes like garlic butter sautéed edamame, tonpei-yaki, scallion with ponzu sauce, and mixed-style potato salad while drinking. The food was on the salty side but served as good accompaniments. The drink selection was also extensive, so no complaints there. In the past, I only thought of one-coin restaurants as a place to drink cheaply, with taste being secondary, but this place pleasantly surprised me. It's definitely a great option for drinking with colleagues. Thank you for the meal. I will come again.

I visited a teppanyaki restaurant located on the same floor as Hatsumoto Sake, Chicken, and Soba. During lunchtime, I decided to try their lunch set, but when I asked, they also offered me the grand menu from Ten-Ten. I was in the mood for some teppanyaki yakisoba, so I ordered the pork yakisoba with thick noodles for 700 yen, with an additional 100 yen for a fried egg on top. The noodles were indeed thick and chewy, with plenty of vegetables mixed in. Sprinkling some pickled ginger on top, I found the flavor to be light and delicious, with a nice dashi broth. The chewy texture of the thick noodles and the aroma of seaweed made for a delightful teppanyaki yakisoba dish from this restaurant.
