I went to Kyushu Netchuya Shinjuku Nomura Building LIVE~ As a Kyushu native, when I feel tired or low on energy, I always crave familiar flavors. That's when I head to Kyushu Netchuya Shinjuku Nomura Building LIVE~ The restaurant has a retro atmosphere, and they serve cabbage as a starter. When you order skewers, they put the cabbage on the plate and you can enjoy it with the leftover flavors from the skewers. Before 7 pm, they have a happy hour with half-price drinks and cost price alcohol, which is great for those who enjoy drinking. The food is also very satisfying! You can try fresh mackerel sashimi from the fish tank, as well as squid sashimi. The squid is chewy with a sweet and flavorful taste. I love the sesame mackerel with slightly sweet soy sauce and sesame flavor. The freshly squeezed grapefruit juice is delicious without any added sweetness. The horse sashimi from Aomori, although unexpected at a Kyushu restaurant, was incredibly tasty. The Nagasaki plate udon is a must-try, with plenty of vegetables, meat, seafood, and my favorite fish cakes. It has an authentic taste. The sweet potato mochi is a nostalgic dessert with a gentle sweetness. Among the various dessert options, the half-baked castella with milkshake is recommended. The melt-in-your-mouth castella with refreshing milkshake flavor is very satisfying. I enjoyed the delicious Kyushu dishes and felt warm and cozy.

Lunch here offers unlimited servings of rice and mentaiko as self-service. However, the chicken cutlet I ordered was so big that I couldn't possibly have seconds. They have several lunch options, so it's a place you can come back to regularly without getting tired of it.笑

I sometimes buy mentaiko at the supermarket and keep it frozen, but when I feel like indulging, I come here. I think they didn't offer this a few months ago, but now they have a mentaiko buffet where you can also help yourself to rice. Mixing it with mayonnaise to make mentaiko mayo and dipping fried chicken in it is also recommended.

On our first visit wedding anniversary, we planned to have Niigata cuisine in Shinjuku, but when we arrived, the restaurant was closed (; ゚д゚) Even though there was no information on Tabelog! It's the true essence of being an unlucky couple like us (>_<) Every year on our anniversary, nothing good happens, but closing down is a first for us (T_T) No matter how long we stand in front of the restaurant, it won't open, so we searched on Tabelog for a good place nearby. We found this place in the Nomura Building B2 nearby and decided to give it a try. <Items we ordered this time> - Assorted appetizers (490 yen) x 2 There were 23 varieties of mentaiko, but I have a cod roe allergy, so my wife ate them all. She said it made her want rice more than as a side dish for alcohol. - Hakata skin skewers (190 yen) x 6 The surface was crispy and fragrant, and the inside had a unique chewy texture that was delicious (*^▽^*) - Vinegar motsu (480 yen) Refreshing and the firm texture of the motsu was pleasant and delicious (๑´ڡ`๑) - Cold red and blue tomatoes (580 yen) The blue tomato was not sweet, more like a Prince melon? The crispy texture was impressive. - Hakata specialty goma saba (980 yen) It was my first experience. The combination of sesame flavor, crunchiness, and mackerel was strangely unique (^^) - Tsushima-produced live anago (1,280 yen) A unique chewy texture like rubber. It was my first time eating conger eel as sashimi. - Hakata teppan gyoza (5 pieces, 590 yen) It's been a while since I had them, but they are still delicious! The crispy skin's fragrance goes well with alcohol ♪ You can choose between 10 pieces and 5 pieces, so you can enjoy them in small quantities (^_^)v - Imo kari (780 yen) Ultra-thin slices of sweet potato fried to a crisp with just the right amount of saltiness that you can't stop eating! There's plenty of it, and just this alone makes you feel like you can drink several cups (^^♪ - Freshly squeezed lemon sour (480 yen) & yuzu sour (450 yen) Both have a strong fruitiness and are fresh & juicy, delicious (*^^*) - Draft beer (580 yen) x 2 Total including tax 8,900 yen As expected, the food in Kyushu seems to be of a high standard! We enjoyed it and it was a good ending to our anniversary (*^_^*)

Access: 4 minutes walk from Nishi-Shinjuku Station on the Marunouchi Subway Line, 5 minutes walk from the west exit of JR Shinjuku Station Menu: Marinated tuna set meal 1200 yen, Salted mackerel set meal 1200 yen, Chicken cutlet set meal 1200 yen Rating on Tabelog: 3.07 (based on 60 reviews) as of June 23, 06, 05, Instagram account: N/A Crowdedness and Customer Profile: - Arrived on a weekday at 12:45 with no wait - Entered the restaurant at 12:45 - Food was served at 12:53 - Female to male ratio = 4:6 Impressions: The quality of the set meals is high, and unexpectedly, they offer unlimited mentaiko (spicy cod roe)! Unfortunately, the dashimaki tamago (rolled omelette) and hamburger were sold out, so if you want to try them, go early! All set meals are priced at 1200 yen. The marinated tuna I ordered was delicious! My colleague's tonkatsu and mackerel also looked delicious. The tuna was well marinated, with a rich umami flavor and the rice went well with it. And the unlimited mentaiko was a bonus. The slightly spicy seasoning made it a perfect lunch. A divine discovery of a lunch set with divine mentaiko!

Lunch visit to a Kyushu cuisine izakaya located in the Nomura Building underground mall. I arrived around 12:30 pm and found that 3 out of the 6 lunch menu options priced at 1,200 yen were already sold out. The lunch service includes unlimited servings of mentaiko, rice, and miso soup, which is very appealing for those who enjoy eating a lot. I ordered the Marinated Tuna Set for 1,200 yen, which came with marinated tuna, rice, miso soup, pickled Chinese cabbage, and boiled komatsuna greens. The mentaiko for self-service was delicious, especially when eaten with the rice. The price has gone up in recent years due to inflation, but it was still a satisfying lunch. Thank you for the meal! (^^)

I used it for lunch. I ordered the grilled fish (salmon) set meal, and it took a little time to start grilling after receiving the order, but it was delicious. You can help yourself to rice and miso soup, but I didn't. The rice and miso soup were also delicious. It was a restaurant that made me want to use it again.

I had been here before and didn't have a good impression, but I decided to visit again because a colleague suggested it. I was torn between the mackerel and grated yam dish, but I chose the rolled omelette with grated yam. The grated yam had a subtle dashi and soy sauce flavor, which was surprisingly delicious. The omelette also had spicy cod roe on top, which added a nice touch. Since you can have unlimited spicy cod roe, I had quite a bit. It was quite spicy. The rice accompaniments were plentiful, and I ended up getting seconds. However, the price of 1,200 yen is a bit of a concern in terms of cost performance.

I visited this restaurant for lunch around 1 pm because there was a limited-time offer on Hot Pepper points that I wanted to use. The restaurant had a few solo customers when I arrived, and I chose a table seat as there was one available. The BGM playing in the restaurant was cheerful oldies, such as B'z's "Ultra Soul," Arashi's "Love So Sweet," and Morning Musume's "Happy Summer Wedding." Since it was past the lunch peak on a weekday, the stewed hamburger from the lunch menu was already sold out. I ordered the Chicken Cutlet with Tartar Sauce instead. The dish served was a bit different from the photo as the photo showed two pieces of meat, but in reality, there was one large cutlet. The chicken was average, with a crispy coating but not particularly juicy. The tartar sauce had finely chopped onions, giving it a homemade feel. I chose this dish because I wanted something hearty, but it turned out to be a bit greasy. I squeezed the lemon provided over the cutlet to enhance the flavor. The dressing on the cabbage side was also tangy, likely made with lemon. Other customers had different dishes - tuna sashimi set on the left and grilled mackerel on the right. The tuna sashimi looked delicious with tuna and egg yolk on the plate. After eating, I didn't notice any oiliness, but I felt an unpleasant oily residue in my mouth after leaving. Perhaps it was because it was past the peak time, but I felt like the frying oil used was heavy. I recommend the lunch menu in the order of hamburger -> fish -> fried food. If I visit again, I would like to try the stewed hamburger or the tuna sashimi set.

Nomura Building B2F is a restaurant where you can enjoy Kyushu cuisine. They have private rooms, semi-private rooms, and counter seats, so it's suitable for various occasions. The atmosphere is great, and it seems like a fun place to drink at night. They offer 6 lunch menu options, and I ordered the "Pickled Tuna Set Meal." It comes with rice, miso soup, small side dishes, and pickles. I personally prefer fluffy rice, so I was a bit disappointed with the dry rice, but the fact that you can have unlimited rice and miso soup is amazing! It's a great service for men, isn't it? When I visited, the grated yam was popular. The limited quantity "Kyushu Barley Miso Grated Yam and Mentaiko Dashi Rolled Set Meal" also looks delicious and highly recommended.

Located on the B2 floor of Shinjuku Nomura Building. I have been to the neighboring Hashiya many times, but this is my first time here. Surprisingly empty on a Saturday. Started with three types of mentaiko as a complimentary dish. Wanted rice but it was sold out... Tried skewered skin for the first time and it was deliciously crispy. The teppan gyoza is amazing! The skin is crispy and the meat inside is flavorful. Really want to try the gyoza rice. The fried chicken with mayo sauce is sweet and tasty. The side dishes are also good. However, the champon was honestly a disappointment. It lacked flavor compared to Ling's Hut. The garlic horse sashimi is also delicious! It has a yukke-like taste. I wish I could have had it on top of rice... It was very disappointing that the rice was sold out. Kyushu cuisine is truly delicious!

On this day, I visited Nishi-Shinjuku and Tochomae stations for my first dose of the new coronavirus vaccine. As September approached, the days became cloudy and rainy, but I spent some time wandering around the station area before my vaccination appointment. I came across a lot of interesting shops listed on the office building's facility guide board. I explored the underground shopping area and decided to have lunch at a tavern-style restaurant I found. Inside the restaurant designed like a tavern, I looked over the menu at the table. The menu I ordered (including tax) was the Loin Cutlet Set for 900 yen, made with plenty of domestic pork. It seems that it's best to eat it with the special sauce and special spicy yuzu pepper. When I actually tasted it, I could enjoy the flavor of the loin cutlet itself thanks to the thin coating. However, I personally found the yuzu pepper on the cutlet to be just okay. They offer free refills for miso soup and rice, but the portion this time wasn't large enough for me to get a refill. Next time I come, I definitely want to enjoy the food with some alcohol.

The restaurant "Necchu-ya" located on the second basement floor of Nomura Building offers a chicken cutlet set meal for 900 yen. Unlike the street-level store at the west exit, they serve set lunches. The large chicken cutlet had a satisfying taste, although it was disappointing that there was no sauce provided. It might have been available upon request, but I enjoyed it as it was. Surprisingly, there were many female customers despite the appearance of the menu.

I walked from Nishi-Shinjuku towards Shinjuku West Exit. It's an area with tall buildings, but on this day, I decided to go downstairs to have lunch. There are several restaurants in the basement of the Nomura Building. I walked around looking at the restaurants and chose a simple izakaya for lunch. There was a menu board outside the restaurant, and I had decided to order grilled fish, but when I sat at the table and looked at the menu again, I thought chicken cutlet or fried chicken would also be good. I was torn, but in the end, I ordered grilled mackerel. Normally it would be salmon, but that day it was mackerel. Grilled mackerel is one of my favorite dishes, so it was actually lucky! The food came out quickly after a short wait. The rice was more than I expected. You could get seconds, but this was quite a lot and was enough. It came with miso soup, a small side dish, and pickles. The small side dish was imitation crab, daikon radish, and carrot simmered in a sweet and savory sauce. First, I tried the miso soup. It had a rich flavor, maybe from Kyushu miso. Then I tried the mackerel. It was served with grated daikon radish and soy sauce. It had the texture and taste of mackerel. It went perfectly with the rice. I then tried the daikon radish simmered dish. It wasn't too strong in flavor, but the thinly sliced daikon was delicious. The imitation crab simmered dish had a flavorful taste. I enjoyed eating the mackerel with the vegetable simmered dishes and rice. Japanese food is just delicious. I managed to finish all the rice. It's been a while since I had a satisfying meal with rice!

I visited for lunch and ordered the healthy barley miso and grated yam set meal for ¥900! You can help yourself to rice and miso soup refills. The barley miso and grated yam combination was surprisingly good! The omelette was also filling and tasty. The rice was delicious and I was satisfied with the meal. The grated yam made me feel full. Thank you for the meal!

Lunch time. There were various lunch menu options, but I ended up choosing the chicken nanban set. I asked for extra rice since it was free to refill. When the set arrived, the portion of chicken nanban was quite generous, and the extra rice was a huge serving! It was so much that I was worried if I could finish it all. However, the staff mentioned that rice refills were free, so I could help myself to more. I should have just ordered a regular portion and then added more rice based on my appetite. The chicken nanban, although not piping hot, was juicy and tasted great with lots of tartar sauce. It went really well with the rice. The highlight was the unlimited servings of mentaiko (spicy cod roe)! With that, I could keep eating more rice. I ended up feeling full but satisfied with the lunch.

I arrived at the restaurant early when it was still quiet. I sat at the counter seat in front of the fish tank. I ordered a beer and the appetizer was grilled dried fish with a mini charcoal grill. The restaurant seemed to have various interesting features. However, I found it unpleasant when water splashes from lifting fish out of the tank reached the customer seats.

I visited for lunch, and although the lunch menu options were limited, they were quite appealing. I chose this place because I could get in without waiting, and they offer unlimited rice refills and cod roe. I had the sesame-marinated cod set meal. The miso soup and side dishes were just okay. The cod seemed to be fresh, but the sauce was a bit too strong, overpowering the flavor of the fish. The rice was tasty and I left feeling full and satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

In a underground restaurant area in Shinjuku Nomura Building within the high-rise building district of Nishi-Shinjuku, we went to a Kyushu izakaya chain for some alcohol replenishment. The appetizers were not important, but someone ordered a fantastic dish - a mixed plate of mentaiko. Even the heavy drinker who was already drunk from ordering a Hoppy set straightened up and tried it. The seaweed-wrapped dish was good, but the extra spicy dish was even better. It wasn't extremely spicy, but just spicy enough to be recognized as spicier than others. The taste was delicious. After drinking too much Hoppy and feeling unsteady on our feet, we decided to walk home, making a few stops along the way, but we managed to walk back in the end.

Regular gathering with drinking buddies in Tokyo. I always end up being the organizer and choosing the restaurant, but lately I've been feeling lazy about searching for new places (laughs). While looking for a lively spot near my workplace, I stumbled upon this gem in the basement of Shinjuku Nomura Building. Amongst the cluster of various bars, this place stood out with its energetic atmosphere. The inside was bustling with customers cheering every time they made a toast, and the staff joined in with loud voices. We opted for the horse sashimi and chicken hot pot course with all-you-can-drink option. However, to our dismay, the Hoppy set was sold out that day. Oh well. We settled for a toast with draft beer and other drinks. First to arrive was the prosciutto and pineapple, which I couldn't resist. The pineapple was a hit. Next came the bite-sized chicken nanban, which was delicious. Then, the highlight - horse sashimi with garlic and raw egg. Absolutely delicious! Despite having work the next day, we all indulged in the feast (laughs). Up next, steamed shumai, which was decent. Finally, the chicken hot pot with thigh meat, tsukune, and vegetables. The tsukune with cartilage was crunchy and tasty, while the meat was tender. To finish off, we had a flavorful rice porridge. They washed the rice properly, absorbing the rich chicken broth. After sampling a variety of dishes and enjoying drinks like lemon shochu highball, the bill came out to 3200 yen per person. The place had a classy clientele, and I was impressed. Next time, I hope they have Hoppy in stock! Thanks for the meal!

I reluctantly went to the tempura restaurant in front of me because it was crowded, but I was hopeful because they had mackerel sashimi. However, as always, I think it might be a good place to go with work colleagues for drinks, but not for a meal. Even after an hour, the mackerel sashimi and clam steamed in sake didn't arrive, and when I asked for the bill and said I had to leave in 5 minutes because I had another appointment, they made me pay but let me go. I felt unpleasant about it. There are no good restaurants anywhere, and I think running a business in Tokyo is difficult. Well, I'll just eat anything during the day, like fried chicken, at a cheap place. I definitely won't go to this restaurant again. I won't recommend it to my friends either. All the stores were dirty and it was a bad experience.
