I have peeked into this place a few times before, but it was always crowded so I hesitated to visit. It was my first time visiting this shop. I had always thought the owner was a woman, but it turned out to be a young, stylish man who used to work at a liquor store! Since it's a sake shop, you can order sake in 120cc or 180cc sizes. I wanted to try a variety, so I ordered the 120cc size. The dishes were unique and different from what you would find at a typical izakaya, and I enjoyed them while also savoring the sake. You can enjoy dishes like grilled seasonal mushrooms here.

I secretly snuck out with my son from the hotel without telling my wife. We enjoyed amazing dishes we had never tasted before in Korea, especially the chicken liver which even my son, who just turned 20, praised. I happened to find this restaurant near Ueno and decided to visit for the first time. The phone service when making a reservation was excellent. The restaurant is a bit small but very clean. It only has a counter, so there were some regular customers dining alone. The food was delicious and the dishes were beautiful. They have a wide variety of sake, making it a great place for sake lovers. The cost performance is also good, so I definitely want to visit again.

I had a meal at "Joukame Gen" in Kitaueno, Taito-ku. The sashimi, especially the tuna, was delicious, comparable to high-end sushi restaurants. The charcoal-grilled local chicken was juicy and flavorful, perfect for pairing with sake. The restaurant offers a wide variety of sake, and the staff can recommend the best ones for you. The warm and attentive service from the female staff managing the grill area made the dining experience very pleasant. The owner, busy but smiling, also provided excellent service. The quality of the food, combined with the reasonable prices, made for a satisfying meal. I look forward to revisiting at a more leisurely pace next time.

I found a cozy little pub and went with three colleagues from work. The place was newly opened so we were able to get a table easily. The food was being prepared by a female chef, which I thought was really cool. The grilled shiitake mushrooms were large and juicy, while the Nishikyo-yaki was a bit on the light side for my taste. I enjoyed some sake with cheese and nuts, and ended up getting a nice buzz. We talked about the food, the challenges restaurants are facing due to COVID-19, and wished them success in continuing their business. Thank you for the meal!

As a fan of counter-style taverns, I finally visited "Joukigen" and had a wonderful experience. The charcoal-grilled dishes were delicious, both the meat and fish were amazing. The corn pot rice we had at the end was also superbly prepared. Overall, every dish was meticulously crafted and left me completely satisfied.

There are no table seats, so it's best for groups of 1-3 people to enjoy a cozy drink. The menu offers a variety of food options, from appetizers to full meals, making it enjoyable to choose. The drink selection is extensive, with a wide range of sake, chu-hai, highballs, shochu, and wine. Hoppy is not available, but the chu-hai and highballs are satisfying. The service is friendly and welcoming, striking the right balance. Before entering, I was a bit unsure about what kind of place it would be, but my worries were unfounded. Whether you want to quietly enjoy a drink, savor delicious food, or have a chat, this bar is a great place for everyone to enjoy good drinks and food.

I ordered a homemade lemon sour while my companion had a matcha highball. We also ordered some dishes like clams with changja, salmon with miso marinade, and grilled silver cod.
