I visited Henri Charpentier during the day, which is located in Tokyo Station's Gransta. Although there are various locations in Tokyo, this one is inside Tokyo Station, so most people in this area can easily access it. However, Gransta is always crowded, especially after the pandemic. I purchased the Napoleon Pie for 3,240 yen, which is labeled as "Ginza Maison Tokyo Station Limited." It is more expensive than the shortcake. The top part of the pie is hard, making it easy to cut with a knife but messy when trying to break it with a fork. The taste is good, with a unique touch to the strawberries. Overall, I believe it's best to enjoy Henri Charpentier at the Ginza Maison. I would like to visit again when I have the chance. Thank you for the meal.

Henri Charpentier has over 90 cafes and stores nationwide. Among them, "Ginza Maison Henri Charpentier" located on Ginza Yonchome Street offers a retro and luxurious exterior and interior, serving authentic table desserts and cakes made with seasonal ingredients. Their "Napoleon Pie" is only available at Ginza Maison and Tokyo Station. Although priced at 810 yen each, I bought four to enjoy with my family. The pie has a crispy texture, not too sweet cream, and almonds on the outside that add a nice touch. It was a delicious Napoleon Pie. Thank you for the meal.

I bought some delicious baked sweets for home at the Ekibenya Gransta Tokyo inside Tokyo Station (*^^*). It's called Petit Gateau Assorti from Henri Charpentier. The smallest size comes with 8 different flavors. They are bite-sized, so I finished them in no time (lol). The baked sweets were moist and I could taste each flavor distinctly! It's a shop you can find in department store food halls, so it's really delicious♪ The packaging and the baked sweets are cute, so I think it would make a great souvenir when traveling from Tokyo Station, and it would be well-received (o^^o).

When it comes to my husband's souvenir Napoleon pie, I remember the one from the now-defunct Maxim's. However, this one is a limited edition product from Henri Charpentier's Napoleon Pie Ginza store, but it seems to have been sold at Gransta for a limited time. The appearance is quite similar to Maxim's! The price is around 810 yen, so my expectations are high. But when I tried it... Huh? Why is there sponge in addition to the pie? Why? Hmm, this Napoleon pie is not what I expected. I have a certain image of what a Napoleon pie should be, so I couldn't help but think that this one is different. Disappointing.

Opened on June 1, 2020 at the ticket gate inside the station is Henri Charpentier. I wondered if there was a demand for Ashiya-rooted Western sweets to be purchased at Tokyo Station. However, since it is already a nationally recognized sweets brand, it may not be considered a "Tokyo souvenir" but it is convenient for general gifts. I purchased the Petit Gateau Assorti 8-piece set for 702 yen (including 8% tax) for a relative who loves financiers. As a trial for home use. After weighing the Petit Gateau Assorti, a certain hard-to-find sweets brand's "Odleyn" and a certain well-known sweets shop's "Vizitandine", the Petit Gateau Assorti was chosen as the most suitable for gifting by my family of three. I personally think that Henri Charpentier's financiers are like the Yoku Moku Cigare in terms of being a classic sweets, delicious but lacking novelty. However, when I actually tried it, there was a sense of stability as financiers are the top-selling sweets worldwide. The Petit Gateau Assorti, with its variety of flavors in bite-sized baked goods, was chosen as it would be appreciated by families with small children. I purchased a 36-piece set as a gift. For home use, I purchased the Dainagon Financier 4-piece set for 864 yen (including 8% tax), available for a limited time until September 25. I received the "Ebisu Financier" as a souvenir from the Kansai region, and I remember it being very delicious. However, I am not sure how the Ebisu Financier differs from the Dainagon Financier. I asked the staff if the Dainagon Financier is different from the Ebisu Financier, but they did not seem to recognize the Ebisu Financier. It is a financier with Dainagon beans. In fact, financiers and madeleines are not among my favorite baked goods, so I prefer financiers with something mixed in rather than plain financiers. The packaging of the Ebisu Financier is more luxurious. On another day, I purchased the Financier 3-piece set for 432 yen (including 8% tax). It is not sold individually, with the minimum quantity being 3 pieces. When I picked it up after a long time, I found it to be smaller than I thought. It may be easier to eat since it is rich in butter. The Mont Blanc for 615 yen (including 8% tax) is the second most popular fresh cake. It has a hint of rum, but it is at a level where it should be fine if you can eat rum raisin ice cream. The seasonal limited edition Chestnut Mont Blanc for 831 yen (including 8% tax) was said to be limited to 10 pieces per day, but when I visited the store in the evening, there were 12 pieces available. It is quite a splurge for a cake purchased at the station. It is a Mont Blanc wrapped in meringue with Mont Blanc cream. There is no hint of alcohol flavor. Purchasing a special fresh cake in a large department store feels special. Purchasing it at the station gives a small atmosphere at this price! However, being able to purchase the same item on the way to transfer is convenient and a hidden gem.

I chose Henri Charpentier as a gift because I wanted something special. I remembered the delicious taste and beautiful appearance when I received it as a gift before. I bought a lemon tart and lemon financiers, and ended up wanting some for myself, so I also purchased financiers and cookies. They are so delicious that they made me smile.

I was curious about the strawberry financiers. The sales area is located within Gransta Tokyo, where you can find Gumi Tzel's Kanro and Asano-ya's bread, among other sweets souvenirs. The showcase had a lineup of spring-themed treats. The strawberry financiers were displayed in sets of three in front of the register. I purchased one set for ¥594 and received a free Happy Sablé (chocolate) with a coupon I had received on LINE. Everything was not only delicious but also had adorable packaging. In addition to cakes and macarons, they also had a wide variety of gifts available.

A deeply meaningful day in terms of numerology was the birthday of my respected boss and mentor. I was very busy, so it was difficult to pick up the cake, but I had pre-ordered a BDC at the transfer station the week before and picked it up on the day. The appearance was reminiscent of the Queen of Hearts with a punch, and the taste was also great, receiving positive feedback. For some reason, my portion was larger than the birthday person's. (laughs) The appearance was passionate, but the white chocolate was gentle, and the sponge was mostly mousse, making it a soft and light cake. Thanks to the birthday person, I was able to return to work after giving birth and continue to receive inspiration. Congratulations! 🎉

One of the sweets I received as a farewell gift at the end of the year. Henri Charpentier's Crème Biscuit. Crème Biscuit Assortment Thinly baked cookies sandwiched with buttercream, filled with financiers and madeleines that smell of fermented butter. When you think of Henri Charpentier, you think of salted caramel, but you don't see it much these days. Have they stopped making it? "Nourishing and Flavorful" - this is the copy printed on the box of Morinaga's caramel. It's been a while since I've had it, and now I feel like reading Eimi Yamada's "Flavorful" again. Also, "Tiny Stories" and "Exquisite Short Stories." Suddenly craving to read novels.
