A new format of Bikkuri Donkey restaurant has opened near Hanazono Shrine. It's a relief for those who were left without a Bikkuri Donkey nearby. The restaurant is located in an office building, so it seems to be less crowded except during weekday lunches. The interior is not as elaborate as the original, more of a quick dining atmosphere.

I visited "Dishers Shinjuku Sumitomo Building Store" located on the basement 1st floor of the Shinjuku Subnade. It seems to be a new concept from Bikkuri Donkey. The restaurant has a sleek interior design, with tablets at each table for ordering and a terminal near the entrance for payment, giving it a non-family restaurant feel! I tried the basic menu item "Egg" (1,000 yen) on this day. It came with rice, hamburger steak, fried egg, and salad on one plate, with a seasoning similar to Loco Moco! Despite its compact size, it was quite filling and felt like a good deal. The sauce was refreshing and didn't overpower the flavors of the hamburger steak. The cooking seemed well done without any shortcuts, and the lack of unnecessary background music created a calm and pleasant atmosphere. For 1,000 yen including tax, it's definitely a good deal! Despite being located in an office building, it didn't have a typical business lunch vibe, which I liked. If you're looking for a unique dining experience in Shinjuku, I recommend this place! In addition to the standard menu, they also offer custom-made dishes, which I think would be fun to try when you have more time. I'm also curious about the seasonal limited Chicken Biryani & Raita set. Each table has a USB port under the tablet.

Dinner on July 19, 2023 (Wednesday). I had to work in Shinjuku in the evening, so I decided to have dinner there as well. Since I was in Nishi-Shinjuku, I went to the basement of the Sumitomo Building to find a place to eat. I chose a hamburger restaurant from a few options. There were only 3-4 customers inside, and I ordered a regular hamburger (890 yen) with an egg topping (110 yen) using the terminal on the table. I wanted to choose the sauce as well, but I couldn't figure out how to access that screen. The hamburger arrived, and to be honest, it wasn't delicious. I couldn't tell what kind of meat it was made of because there was no indication. I wondered if they even used any beef in it. The total bill was 1,000 yen, and I paid using the self-checkout machine. Later, I found out through a search that the restaurant is a new concept by ALEPH Co., Ltd., which also operates Bikkuri Donkey. Wait, does that mean the meat in that hamburger was...? (laughs)

*Waiting Time* No waiting time on Sundays at 4:00 PM *Order & Price* Grated ginger rice with a small portion for 950 yen *Atmosphere* It has a fast-food style *Service* It is touch panel operated, and the payment is also non-face-to-face. The food is brought to your table. *Impressions* The salad dressing has a slightly acidic taste. It is nice to have broccoli and baby corn. The hamburger is tender, but I wish it had a bit more coarseness. *Expectations* The taste is okay, not too loud, and the simple interior allows for easy conversation.

I've been curious about the new Dishes restaurant, a surprising new concept by Bikkuri Donkey, at the Shinjuku and Enoshima-Kamakura locations in Kanagawa. Finally, I visited and tried their pancakes, even though I wanted to try their hamburgers. I opted for the limited-time White Peach Pancake for ¥650. The pancake had two thin, fluffy buttermilk pancakes with a strong aroma of peaches. On top, there were four slices of white peach compote, a generous amount of creamy milk cream, and peach sauce, enhancing the peach flavor. The restaurant in Shinjuku was surprisingly affordable, with 20 counter seats and many table seats. I visited on a Sunday at 2 pm, and it was empty, but I assume it gets quite busy on weekdays. Thank you for the meal. Location: Shinjuku Sumitomo Building B1F, 2-6-1 Nishi-Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo Operating Hours: Weekdays 7:00-21:00, Weekends 11:00-21:00

I went to dishers in Shinjuku Sumitomo Building and tried their limited-time menu, Korean Bibimbap & Yangnyeom Chicken Board. It was during lunchtime but there were plenty of seats available, so I was able to eat in a relaxed atmosphere without it being too crowded. I was surprised to later find out that it is a sister restaurant of Bikkuri Donkey, so I would like to try their hamburgers as well and definitely want to go back. They open from 7 am on weekdays and have a morning menu as well as a variety of cafe menu items, making it a great place for a quick break. The toilets on the B1 floor of Shinjuku Sumitomo Building are clean and easy to use, and there is also a large smoking room available for smokers. ★For more detailed impressions and menu information, check out my blog: https://gokigenbiyori.com/dishers-shinjyuku-sumitomo-building/

I visited the restaurant to celebrate its 3rd anniversary with a discount. It is located on the 1st floor of Shinjuku Sumitomo Building. It is a branch of Bikkuri Donkey. They had a limited offer of 390 meals, which seemed like a popular number given the location in Shinjuku. When I arrived after 12 o'clock, there were more than 10 customers already seated and about 10 more in line. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is casual, similar to fast food or casual dining. Orders are placed using a touch panel, and the discounted items cannot be customized. I ordered and received my food in about 10 minutes. Water is self-serve, and payment is also self-service. No need to clear the table after finishing the meal. The regular plate consisted of a hamburger, salad, and rice. The hamburger was the same as the one from Bikkuri Donkey, soft and easy to chew. It had a good flavor even without sauce. The salad was also good, and the portion of rice was satisfying. The discounted price made it a great deal, but even without the discount, the price and quality were still good. (June 2023)

On this day, I had some work to do at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. Since I was already out, I decided to have lunch somewhere nearby. It was a little past 11 o'clock, so there weren't many places open yet, but that allowed me to relax and enjoy the quiet atmosphere. I found a restaurant that also serves pancakes, so maybe that's why I was drawn to it. I ended up choosing a hamburger as my main dish. I realized that I should have done some research before coming to this restaurant. The interior was bright and welcoming, and I was seated at a cozy table for one or two people. I thought it might get crowded in about 30 minutes, so I quickly tried to figure out how to order using the touch panel on the table. It was a bit confusing, so I ended up ordering a hamburger with grated radish and a drink bar. I also wanted plain rice, but couldn't figure out how to order it, so I settled for rice with small dried fish. The food arrived as a one-dish meal, consisting of the hamburger, rice with dried fish, and a salad. The price seemed a bit high for what I got, but maybe it's because of the location. The rice with dried fish turned out to be surprisingly delicious, with large and flavorful fish pieces. The hamburger reminded me of a restaurant called "Bikkuri Donkey" that I used to visit about 30 years ago. I've been looking at old photos a lot recently, and it's been a lot of fun. It feels like just the other day, but it must have been a long time ago. I remember taking my oldest son to "Bikkuri Donkey" all the time, not my younger son. When it was time to pay, I used the electronic payment system at the entrance. It would be great if each table had a similar system for easy payment. I think it will become more common in the near future. I left the restaurant around 11:40 AM, and it was still very quiet.

- Bacon and Eggs: ¥1,220 - Craft Beer: ¥550 Shinjuku Sumitomo Building B1 Served on a wooden plate, the hamburger, rice, and salad combo looked just like a dish from a certain famous chain (wink). You can customize toppings and sauces to your liking, but I recommend sticking with the recommended menu. Orders are placed via a touch panel, and self-service for water and payment. There are plenty of table seats and a good number of counter seats for solo diners, making it convenient for lunch. The hamburger was delicious, and the craft beer with its original label was also tasty. #Shinjuku West Lunch #Shinjuku Sumitomo Building #dishers #dishers Shinjuku Sumitomo Building store #Hamburger Plate #Bacon and Eggs #Personal Gourmet Memoirs #Food Diary

The Bikkuri Donkey in Kabukicho is gone, but you can still enjoy their Bikkudon-style hamburger at Deejays. I visited during a quiet time on a weekday morning around 10 o'clock. I ordered the usual Cheese Burger for 1000 yen. The restaurant was empty, and self-service for water, drinks, and payment made the experience smooth.

The hamburger is soft and delicious, the vegetables are fresh, and I like the cereal-like topping! However, the cost performance is a bit questionable... Maybe that's why it's always busy, which is convenient when you're in a hurry. Today was another rush lunch, so I quickly touched the grated radish on the screen and placed my order without selecting it. LOL

There is an ice cream event at the triangular plaza of the Sumitomo Building. However, it turned out to be more of a test of patience in enduring long lines rather than an ice cream event. Surprisingly, the crowd was quite large, considering it was a holiday. I decided to escape from the crowded plaza and headed to "Dishers" to have a hamburger before going home. Located in the basement food court of the Sumitomo Building, Dishers is a new concept by Bikkuri Donkey's Aleph. I opted for the full customization, choosing a hamburger and salad, with spaghetti instead of rice, topped with meat sauce, which cost 1190 yen. I added a drink bar for a total of just over 1500 yen. The food took about 5 minutes to arrive, and it was served with plastic fork and spoon. The salad was quite stylish, with leafy greens, red onions, tomatoes, boiled broccoli, and granola sprinkled on top. The meat sauce was served on both the hamburger and spaghetti, which I wished was only on the spaghetti to fully enjoy the hamburger's flavor. Despite this, I enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere. It would have been better if the restaurant was in a more fashionable location rather than an office building.

Located in the underground floor of the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building, directly connected to the Tocho-mae Station in Shinjuku, is Dishes. It's about a 10-minute walk from Shinjuku Station West Exit. I visited for a late lunch on a Saturday around 4:30 PM. The interior has a row of counter seats in the middle, surrounded by plenty of table seats, with a large capacity. It seems like it could get crowded during weekday lunch hours. Orders are placed using tablets at each table. The hamburgers at Bikkuri Donkey can be customized in various ways, and I decided to try a customized order as per the instructions. I ordered the Meat Sauce Pasta for ¥1,190 (Custom breakdown: Regular ¥860, Meat Sauce ¥220, Pasta ¥110). Water is self-service in paper cups. The order was served in about 10 minutes. The dish was presented on a wooden plate, similar to Bikkuri Donkey. The hamburger had a nostalgic taste, similar to Bikkuri Donkey. The combination with the Meat Sauce Pasta was a new experience. The salad included leafy greens, young corn, and broccoli. You could add extra salad, but it was already quite generous. The overall portion was substantial. Payment is done through a self-service machine, accepting electronic money, QR code payments, and credit cards. They also offer pancakes, so I might come back to try those next time.

I had been wanting to visit this restaurant for a while. It's a new concept store from Bikkuri Donkey. I customized my order for takeout, choosing a curry dish as the base and adding an extra hamburger patty. I also ordered a large portion of rice. It took about 5-6 minutes for my order to be ready. I sat and waited, so it didn't feel too long. I took my food to Central Park and had a picnic on the grass. My child had a homemade bento, but they wanted to try the hamburger, so I shared a bit with them. The taste was just like Bikkuri Donkey. I heard that if you eat in the restaurant, you can also have soup. I would like to try dining in next time. Thank you for the meal.

Shinjuku Sumitomo Building lunch, on the second day we went to Dishers. It's a cafe-style branch of Bikkuri Donkey, but since Bikkuri Donkey is not in my usual area, I'm not very familiar with it. You order using a tablet at your table, and pay by bringing the QR code placed on your table to a self-checkout machine. The staff only interact with you when bringing the food. This is apparently to reduce operating costs and ease the burden of staff training. I ordered the default hamburger dish with less rice, and added curry sauce and the drink bar. There were various toppings available, like grated shiso and cheese, and you could also choose cauliflower rice instead of regular rice. The curry had a noticeable floury taste, and the salad had sweet cereal in it, which some people might find unnecessary, but it added a stylish touch to the presentation and a unique flavor. Overall, it was okay, but I don't see a reason to come back. I think the lack of a compelling reason to return might be because the "reduction in operating costs and staff burden" doesn't seem to be reflected in the price or the quality of the food.

I heard about a store in the office district, so I went there. The seating was comfortable for one person. However, the seat I chose was a bit too cold due to the air conditioning. When I think of Bikkuri Donkey, I imagine their huge menu items, but here you can customize your plate using a touch panel! You can also customize side dishes and toppings, which is great for Bikkuri Donkey fans. However, customizing too much can make the bill quite high, so it's something to consider. I ended up adding pineapple, cheese, and extra toppings, but I thought adding a fried egg might be too much both financially and in terms of volume (laughs). The salad had more vegetables than usual, which was nice for someone like me who tends to lack vegetables. Overall, the food was delicious, but the seat I chose made my rice cold quickly. It was a bit disappointing. I recommend Bikkuri Donkey for those who enjoy customizing their food. Thank you for the meal.

Today's lunch was a visit to Dishers in Shinjuku. This place is a new form of Bikkuri Donkey. I had been curious about it for a while, and finally got to visit. This time, I ordered a full custom dish with base hamburger, cheese, Dishers chicken, rice, salad, and meat sauce (1,410 yen). I also prepared the habanero sauce from the water corner. Who would have thought I could eat hamburger with meat sauce on rice... The spiciness of the habanero sauce complements the sweetness of the meat sauce and the umami of the hamburger, making it delicious. The ability to create your own favorite combination is appealing. However, I preferred the dressing for the salad at the usual Donkey. The light drinking set also looks good, but it is currently on hold due to import issues. Next time, I think the curry sauce would be good too. It was delicious.

A unique restaurant like Bikkuri Donkey! You can customize your own dish plate! The hamburger is just like the one at Bikkuri Donkey, delicious! The salad is incredibly tasty, with a crispy texture! I'm glad I got the large portion of salad! I substituted the rice with finely chopped cauliflower for low-carb, and it was surprisingly good! The cauliflower was full of flavor and texture, but I thought it didn't really go well with the hamburger. They also have a great selection of drinks, making it a convenient place to dine! Thank you for the meal!

Shinjuku Sumitomo Building has a new floor, but I saw a notice from a closed store that was dated a year ago. It seems like they closed shortly after the renovation? My child suddenly wanted to eat the hamburgers at Bikkuri Donkey, so we went to the closest one. Since it was right after the New Year, the restaurant was almost empty (lol). The new concept of Bikkuri Donkey has a fast-food style interior, lacking the adventurous and exciting atmosphere. You have to get your own water and order using touch panels at every table. I customized my hamburger with grated radish, extra salad, changed the sauce to curry, and switched the rice to pasta, which cost me 1410 yen, quite expensive haha. The portion size was generous. The salad was delicious, but the curry was a disappointment. I wanted a light hamburger, but the curry sauce made everything taste like curry, and I got tired of it >_< Next time, I'll stick to the regular sauce. Thank you for the meal!

Surprising Donkey's new brand. Order at the table, pay at the self-checkout. The taste is typical Donkey, nothing surprising. Attention to detail in the store is impressive, but thinking about depreciation makes me shudder. If the location and menu are a good match... Thank you for the meal.
