I was recommended this restaurant by a taxi driver on my way from Hakodate Station to Goryokaku. He mentioned that it gets crowded, so I made a reservation and managed to secure a spot. I ordered the premium Omakase sushi (10 pieces) at the counter. The chu-toro, yellowtail, sea urchin, salmon roe, surf clam, abalone, shrimp, and other toppings were all incredibly delicious with thick cuts. I felt really happy. The seared conger eel recommended by the chef was outstanding with its rich flavor. The chef was also very friendly, and we had a great conversation about his hometown. This sushi restaurant is a must-visit when in Hakodate.

My friend who lives in Sapporo came to Hakodate for work! Of course, we have to go out for drinks~♪ As I was thinking about where to take my friend, they suggested their favorite sushi restaurant. It's called "Fukujushi" in the Matsukaze-cho, also known as the "Daimon" district. The chef there is very nice and the sashimi is fresh, especially the marinated mackerel is exquisite! The grilled fatty fish is also delicious. The sushi is just amazing, with the crab being particularly outstanding! The sea urchin is also incredibly tasty. The miso soup has a subtle and good broth. The seared fatty tuna is like eating meat itself! It was so delicious! (*´∀`)♪

When it comes to a luxurious dinner in Hakodate, sushi is the way to go! Start with a sashimi platter featuring seasonal delicacies. Then enjoy your favorite nigiri sushi. One must-try dish is the herring and golden cutlassfish nigiri. The fresh herring nigiri is a rare treat, as it is not often served raw. What caught my attention this time was the salmon roe roll. I'm usually not a fan of the salty taste of roe, but this one had a surprising sweetness to it, making it a delightful choice.

At a banquet. - Three types of appetizers - Sashimi (tuna, shrimp, squid, salmon, cured mackerel) - Grilled dish (miso-marinated Aburabozu) - Ankimo (monkfish liver) - Tempura (or Hokki butter) - 10 pieces of sushi - Aomori tuna sashimi was delicious. The miso-marinated Aburabozu was a bit salty and looked lonely on the plate. The sushi rice was small in size, which was good for a drinking party, but the sushi felt dense and heavy. The quality of the ingredients was good. We informed them of our budget and opted for the all-you-can-drink option, which included a variety of sake such as Kitano Katsu and Kunimare from Hokkaido and other local sakes from Honshu. While it was reasonable, we felt that upgrading the dishes instead of offering a variety of drinks would have been more satisfying. We also received four bottles of sake as a gift, so it shouldn't have been a burden for the restaurant. The reason we chose this sushi restaurant was because it was highly recommended when researching. Some were skeptical about using it without a referral. Perhaps it had that kind of reputation in the past. We hope that they continue to update and maintain their image without compromising the quality and become a trendy and representative restaurant in Hakodate. The private room with tatami tables provided a comfortable and cozy atmosphere. Thank you very much for the hospitality. It was a great meal.

This is a sushi restaurant that has been in business for 50 years and is within walking distance from Hakodate Station. The head chef is very friendly and always happy to chat with customers while working. This was my fourth visit and I am always satisfied. I recommend sitting at the counter and having the chef cut or make your favorite sushi for you. The recommended sushi may vary depending on the season, so be sure to ask the chef. On this day, I had red meat, medium fatty tuna, conger eel, horsehair crab, flounder, herring, sea urchin, scallop, mackerel, and negitoro roll. The herring was especially delicious, with a rich flavor. The horsehair crab had a nice texture and sweetness. If you want to eat really delicious sushi in Hakodate but don't want to spend around 20,000 yen per person, I highly recommend trying this long-established sushi restaurant.

We always visit with our children, and despite feeling nervous at first due to the traditional atmosphere, the master and staff were very warm and welcoming. Now we are big fans and going to Fukujuso Sushi has become a must when we visit Hakodate. My husband and I enjoy drinking, so we always opt for the all-you-can-drink course, and even though it's a set course, they always listen to our requests. We get to enjoy delicious tuna and other dishes at a great price. The quality is top-notch, far exceeding what you would get in Sapporo for double the price. The anago (conger eel) is especially amazing, a luxurious treat unique to Fukujuso Sushi in Hakodate. It's worth visiting Hakodate just to dine here. While Hokkaido has many high-quality conveyor belt sushi restaurants like Kantaro and Nemuro Hanamaru, the taste of traditional sushi from an established restaurant is truly exceptional. We look forward to visiting again for the best sushi experience.

Located on the east side of Hakodate Station, down the street lined with izakayas, behind Tsuruha Drugstore, is a sushi restaurant. We made a reservation through Hot Pepper and visited. It was the first day of a long holiday, and the restaurant was fully booked. When we asked for recommendations, the young chef kindly explained to us. We had a variety of dishes including sashimi, grilled dishes, and sushi. As expected in a city surrounded by the sea, the freshness of the sashimi and sushi was outstanding. The surf clam had a pleasant chewy texture. We would have preferred to sit at the counter, but dining in the tatami room allowed us to enjoy our meal in a quiet and relaxed atmosphere without feeling rushed.

On December 16th at 8:00 PM, my family of three visited this restaurant. We were greeted by a friendly head chef, a young waitress, and a young apprentice who showed us to a private room. We ordered the premium sushi set meal and also some amberjack sashimi. The dishes arrived within a few minutes. The sushi rolls and rolls were all delicious, but the sweetness of the shrimp was particularly impressive. The assorted sashimi had a soft yet firm texture, and my favorite was the sea bream. The sea urchin in the Yufu hot pot had a fantastic flavor with no unpleasant smell. The 3-item platter actually had 5 or 6 items, and my personal favorite was the one with cheese. The pickled vegetables were not something I usually eat, but they were well-pickled and tasty. The miso soup, not shown in the photos, had an elegant and comforting taste. The amberjack sashimi had a chewy and springy texture, and though slightly out of season, it was satisfying with its rich flavor. This was a bit of a splurge since everyone except me was visiting Hokkaido for the first time, but the satisfaction exceeded the price, and we left with full stomachs. I believe it was good value for money, and I would definitely want to visit this restaurant again when in Hakodate.

I went to this restaurant recommended by a taxi driver. We had a sashimi platter, premium sushi, grilled conger eel, salted squid, chawanmushi, and 3 servings of sake, totaling 9,700 yen. It's a very cost-effective place. I especially enjoyed the herring sushi, which is not commonly eaten in Kansai, and it was amazingly fluffy. The grilled conger eel was also delicious, with the bones skillfully removed, making it fluffy as well. All the ingredients were fresh, so everything was delicious.

In this day and age, I made a reservation for 4:00 pm when I had some free time. Before that, I had a surprise cake delivered to the restaurant. They kindly accepted it. When I entered the restaurant at exactly 4:00 pm, it was a bustling atmosphere. They had takeout orders to fulfill. It's good to see them busy. I started with a draft beer and a selection of five appetizers. For sashimi, I chose herring and mackerel. The mackerel was delicious! They even made mackerel ponzu for me. I ordered a single serving of assorted tempura, with two pieces of cheese. They were accommodating to my slight requests. The recommended dishes today were salmon roe and conger eel. The conger eel was particularly delightful with its tender texture. The sea urchin was also delicious. Finally, they brought out the cake, sliced it, and served it to us. I felt a bit guilty for causing them extra work in their busy time. I will definitely visit again.

For over 50 years, this sushi restaurant in Hakodate has been a local favorite for a reason. With fresh local fish as the highlight, top-notch ingredients, and a service-oriented staff, it's no wonder they have thrived for so long. From fatty tuna, sea urchin, giant snow crab, conger eel, squid, homemade salted fish roe, to kanpyo (dried gourd strips) - everything is delicious. I travel from Sapporo to visit, and whenever I'm in Hakodate, I make sure to stop by. The quality here is worth at least 1.5 times the price in Sapporo, and over 2 times in Tokyo. To the young chef, I will be back. I had an amazing lineup for 5000 yen, and after that, I had three helpings of the salted fish roe and octopus with extra sweet sauce. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I had the pleasure of visiting "Daimon Fukujushi," a restaurant located just a 1-minute walk from the Hakodate City Tram "Matsukaze-machi" stop, celebrating its 50th anniversary. The friendly and kind atmosphere of the head chef immediately caught my attention. I had read online that their mackerel, conger eel, and tuna are popular choices, and that the restaurant offers a casual dining experience at reasonable prices. This time, I tried their "Jyo Nigiri Sushi" (1,900 yen). The sushi pieces were large, the rice was just right, and the sushi was delicious. I highly recommend this sushi restaurant.

We used it for a night gathering with about 10 people. It's a tatami room with tables and chairs, so it's comfortable and we could relax in a private room without worrying about others. We had a course with all-you-can-drink, which was reasonable, and all the dishes were delicious. The salmon roe had no fishy smell at all, and all the fish were fresh and sweet. Highly recommended.
