I wanted to eat seafood, so I randomly entered this restaurant and the food was very delicious. The salted cod and butter was so tasty, with the potatoes being fluffy and delicious. The Japanese sake was sold out, but the chilled sweet sake was easy to drink even for my friend who doesn't usually drink sake. It was nice that we could choose cute sake cups.

We went to the counter seats with two people. It was nice to see the charcoal grilling in front of us. The appetizer was a huge white clam, which I love, so I was very excited. I have a small appetite so I couldn't eat much, but I want to go again soon! Thank you for the meal.

My friend recommended this place, so I made a reservation and went. Recently, Ueno has been attracting a lot of foreign tourists, and places like Ameyoko are bustling with outdoor dining. This restaurant is open on Sundays from 1 pm, which is convenient as it's hard to find places with all-day service. We were a group of 3 and sat at a loft-like table, which was nice as I didn't feel like taking off my shoes today. They seem to specialize in Japanese sake, as there were aprons from various breweries displayed. They have a wide variety of seafood and appetizer options, and the beef tongue was delicious. Since it was just a pre-drinks gathering, we didn't have sake and I ended up having several Pink Grapefruit Sours. The Pink Grapefruit Sour with lots of pulp was amazing.

Comparing the taste of three kinds of live oysters! Ueno sake festival on the weekend! Drinking in front of Yamato station on Saturday and playing some casual baseball in Kinshicho on Sunday morning, followed by a baseball party. Then, drinking in Ueno in the evening. A schedule full of alcohol~ haha. In Ueno, we went to a sake bar that fits the atmosphere of the city perfectly. The ambiance of this place is amazing, especially in the semi-private room that felt like a half-private room. I kind of made it a second party (haha), so we started with highballs. For snacks, we had a light sashimi platter, salad, and after 3 highballs, we started with the sake festival with a favorite sake from Fukushima called Tobikoi. Delicious~ We ordered a tasting of three kinds of live oysters (from Iwate, Hyogo, and Nagasaki) along with fried oysters and thick fried tofu. We couldn't really compare the oysters since each person only got one... haha. Anyway, the lineup of sake was perfect and went well with the live oysters. We continued the sake festival at Bakuren and Ichimonji, where the staff were all beautiful women. Drinking with my old man friends naturally made the alcohol flow~ haha. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend drinking in Ueno! We also went to two more places, but... haha.

■Access: 4 minutes walk from Okachimachi Station■Overview: Located in a bustling area from Okachimachi to Ueno, this restaurant can be a bit hard to notice due to its narrow entrance. While the quality of izakayas in Ueno can vary greatly, this place offers consistently delicious dishes that you can trust. The seafood here is especially recommended.■Menu:- Assorted 3 types of fresh oysters: Normally I would order grilled oysters, but on this day, I opted for fresh oysters from Nagasaki, Iwate, and Hyogo, squeezed with lemon. It's interesting how the size, flavor intensity, and aroma differ based on the origin.- Assorted sashimi platter- Bonito sashimi: This place serves delicious sashimi, with the bonito being a standout. You can enjoy its thick and rich flavor.- Taro root tempura: A dish of taro root that is moist and fluffy on the inside, lightly coated with batter and fried to a crispy texture. It's one of my favorite dishes here.■Impression: There aren't many places in Ueno where you can find good sashimi, and they tend to be crowded. This spot is a hidden gem. Thank you for the wonderful meal. #Ueno #Seafood

Large Oyster Fry Set Meal for 900 yen
Today, I had lunch in Ueno. I've been curious about this place for a while, but the menu didn't really catch my attention, so I never went in. On my way to another restaurant, I passed by this place and saw their daily lunch special written in hand: Oyster Fry. The fact that they use large oysters caught my interest. So, at 11:47, I walked in. There was no one there before me, and there were 7 customers after me. I ordered the large oyster fry set meal as planned. It arrived in about 8 minutes. I got 3 oyster fries, miso soup, pickled vegetables, and natto. It was nice to see that they provided both sauce and tartar sauce. The oyster fry was not greasy, and the coating was not soggy, which was good. The rice was soft and moist, freshly cooked. I wanted to mix the natto with rice, but the rice was so good that I decided to eat them separately today. It turns out smoking is allowed here, which is a downside for me. Overall, it was a satisfying lunch experience.

The grilled meat and vegetables at "Sumi Saru" in Ueno were exquisite. They offer thick-cut pork loin, beef zabuton, thick-cut bacon, sashimi of yellowtail and scallops, tempura of pickled ginger and corn, chicken nanban, grilled rice balls, shishito peppers, and green chili peppers.

I found a stylish and cozy Japanese sake bar with a cool sign between Ueno and Okachimachi. They offer a selection of seasonal and rare sake rather than a wide variety. The staff is helpful in recommending based on your preferences. I tried the Sausage Trio, Smoked Mackerel, and Potato Salted Butter, all of which were delicious. This was our second stop, but I look forward to trying their creative dishes as a first stop next time.

After the state of emergency was lifted, on the last day of May. Although not the usual crowd, the daytime drinking district in Ueno is gradually regaining its liveliness. I thought of having a pre-drinking session with some fresh oysters before the all-you-can-drink night, but the oyster bar was closed, so I wandered around the drinking district and found a izakaya offering a happy hour. It seemed to have opened recently as it was clean and the service was good. Most importantly, the way they poured the draft beer was meticulous and good. I will definitely stop by for another pre-drinking session...

This place has few varieties of sake but the food is really amazing. A restaurant that catered to my food preferences. I am truly grateful.

Everything was delicious! The head chef's exquisite talk. Each dish was carefully prepared and truly amazing! Especially the tuna sashimi, collar, and daikon. It also goes well with sake! I will definitely go again!

The atmosphere at the Ueno shop was nice! It was easy to get in because it was not crowded! Honestly, I do not recommend the food, it was mediocre. There were various types of Japanese sake available, so for those who like Japanese sake, be sure to try it out!
