We visited the restaurant for an early Sunday dinner with our family. Although it was a little past 5 pm, the place was almost full and we were lucky to find a table for four without waiting. The restaurant was quite busy, but there was only one female waitress managing the whole place. Despite being so busy, she provided excellent and polite service, which was truly impressive. We ordered a variety of kushikatsu skewers, macaroni salad, tebae-yaki, onion slices, and finished with some meat skewers. The meat skewers were especially delicious and satisfying. It had been a while since we last visited Kushikatsu Tanaka, but we were once again impressed by the great value and taste. Our family had a very satisfying dinner. Thank you for the meal!

Going with two people, having 14 skewers and 6 sour drinks for just a little over 6,000 yen is definitely cheap, right? And it's pretty tasty too. The Chinchiro service involves rolling two dice, with doubles meaning one free drink, even numbers meaning half price, and odd numbers meaning you get double the amount for the price of two drinks. So, if you drink more than two, you definitely won't lose out on this great deal. This time, we tried it three times: 1st roll - even (half price), 2nd roll - even (half price), 3rd roll - odd (double amount). So, we were able to have 4 drinks for the price of 3. By the way, my friend kept getting "Tanaka" every time.

After finishing work in Higashi-Ikebukuro, we decided to go for drinks nearby with three people around 4:30 PM. We had a hard day, so the beer tasted really good. We ordered a seasonal five-item platter and takoyaki as appetizers, and finished with about five rounds of highballs where the price and size change based on the roll of a dice. Overall, it was delicious.

After finishing training and walking with my subordinates, I received a notification saying "Your review has been viewed 1000 times". Curious, I checked and realized it was a Google Maps review I wrote last December for a kushikatsu restaurant called Tanaka, where a staff member had promised me a free ice cream. I decided to visit the restaurant again, enjoying lots of drinks and plenty of kushikatsu. Writing a review brings back memories of conversations had at the restaurant, which is quite enjoyable.

I hadn't been to this place since I got infected with Corona, but I used to come here often until about 4 years ago. It was my first visit in a long time! A senior colleague who retired 3 years ago came to Ikebukuro for the first time in a while, so we decided to meet up at this place where we used to go together. Until 6:00 PM, lemon sour or Jim Beam highball is only 99 yen during happy hour! They even offer it in a mega size for 198 yen, which is a great deal for drinkers! We each ordered our favorite deep-fried skewers and also ordered the DIY takoyaki! It was really good! We drank a lot and got totally drunk, but it was delicious and fun. And we even got a "Tanaka" in the Chinchirorin game at the end!

On this day, after work, my partner and I were thinking about what to eat...hmm, how about deep-fried skewers! We searched for a good place and found one. It's a 7-8 minute walk from the station, but there are a lot of people around here. We hurried to place our order when we were informed that last orders were approaching. We ordered a bunch of different items and they were brought to us quickly, making us a bit flustered. But everything was easy to eat and surprisingly good. We also had some drinks, tried to roll the dice for a half-price deal, but ended up paying double for double the amount of highballs. Before we knew it, there were only two groups left in the restaurant. After paying, we left. It was a delicious meal.

First visit. The variety of kushikatsu options was impressive, and I was pleasantly surprised by the wide selection of side dishes and closing dishes. I particularly enjoyed the flavor and tenderness of the simmered beef tendons, so much so that I ordered it twice. The gentle flavor of the udon, with a rich broth, was a perfect way to finish the meal. I have developed a liking for Osaka cuisine.

This restaurant allows dogs to accompany you, so our family of 5 (including 2 dogs) visited. They have menus that kids will enjoy, and there are many families with young children. Making your own rice balls and cooking your own takoyaki is fun. It's rare to find a restaurant that allows dogs inside, so we had a very enjoyable time.

I know about Kushikatsu Tanaka, of course, there are many in my hometown Osaka. But even though I wanted to eat Kushikatsu, I didn't feel like going, so I never ended up going. On the way back from shopping, I happened to see it and decided to go in. Surprise #1: As soon as I entered, I was surprised! Dogs are allowed. Amazing Kushikatsu. Quite a surprise #2: In my mind, there's only Worcestershire sauce for Kushikatsu, but here it's more like tonkatsu sauce, with a thick texture. Surprise #3: The child next to me put their hand in the mortar and made onigiri. In Korea, you make onigiri by hand at the shop. My 24-year-old daughter was delighted to make it. I kept losing at the game and ended up having four mega highballs. I got carried away and the total bill was higher than I had thought. My responsibility.

I love kushikatsu, and of course I often go to eat it in Osaka. I had always wanted to visit Kushikatsu Tanaka, which is popular in the Kanto region, so I finally got the chance. My stomach was quite full, so I ordered a few items that caught my eye. For drinks, I of course had garlic chuhai! Lately, I've been seeing more and more places in the Kanto region offering garlic chuhai! Kansai people really love ginger, don't they? As expected. I also ordered pickled ginger, which is the best. The kushikatsu was okay. The deliciousness of kushikatsu comes not only from the filling but also from the batter. I felt it was a bit oily. When the batter is tasty, I end up eating it even when I'm full. If you want to easily enjoy kushikatsu in Tokyo, this might be a good option.

There are Chinchiror Highballs and you can make takoyaki, making it perfect for having a lively time with everyone. On the way out, we couldn't resist ringing the Tequila Bell. Every time we rang it, a Tequila Goldfish was brought to us. Laugh.

Ikebukuro drinking party. We weren't satisfied with just one place, so we stopped by here for another drink. There were very few customers, maybe due to the coronavirus or because it was late at night, so it felt like we were almost the only ones there. It's a place you can find anywhere and very convenient to use. However, if you drink too much, it can get quite expensive, so you have to be careful. I always feel like I'm drawn in by its convenience, but my impression is always the same. The kushikatsu is consistently delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Appetizer: 250 yen
Square Highball (even number): 195 yen
Pork with shiso: 150 yen
Curry King: 150 yen
Ham cutlet: 120 yen
Cod roe: 120 yen
Beef raw ham yukke: 590 yen
Squid jerky: 590 yen
Cookie & cream: 100 yen
Banana: 100 yen
Yakisoba: 490 yen
Tanaka's basic sour: 399 yen
Consumption tax: 325 yen
Total: 3579 yen
Tanaka's basic sour tasted like the nostalgic ramune. Squid jerky was delicious at first but got boring halfway through, so I wish they served a smaller portion. If they provide garlic and ginger, I want the sauce to be separated. Beef raw ham yukke was not that great. Curry king and cookie & cream are more for kids. Surprisingly, the banana was good. I tried the Chin-Chi-Rin highball once, and it was half price for even numbers. It's a must-try, but somehow feels mediocre.

Kushikatsu is a chain restaurant that has been featured in the media. It has an overall rating of 68 points out of 100. The quality of the food is rated at 70 points, service at 60 points, and cleanliness at 65 points. We arrived at 5:00 PM and our food arrived in 15 minutes. We ordered a variety of recommended kushikatsu for around ¥120 each. The prices range from ¥100 to ¥500. The appearance of the food is good, with a nice presentation. The taste is delicious, with sweet vegetables and well-fried meat and seafood. Overall, we were satisfied with the experience, although the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed due to being short-staffed. We hope they continue to provide good service. We would like to visit again if given the chance. Thank you for the meal.

This is Kushi Katsu Tanaka Ikebukuro branch. Located in Higashi-Ikebukuro, it's a slightly quiet area for Ikebukuro. The interior of the restaurant is a bit quirky, but it's bustling with customers. On this day, I decided on the tulip karaage, a double serving of assorted kushi katsu, and nikusui udon for my meal, and dived into kushi katsu time. The first drink was a draft beer. It was a refreshing glass of Premium Malts, but personally, I prefer something more bitter, so it was a slight mistake in my choice. The crispy kushi katsu, especially the lotus root, had a great texture and was delicious! Next up, the chinchirorin. Clang, clang, here comes the large highball! I just had to go for it.

After the second bar hopping stop, we made the reckless decision to go for all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but my companion mentioned that they often do this and sometimes even go for a third stop. The all-you-can-eat option required a reservation made by the day before, so we booked a table in advance. However, this seemed to trigger a hyper-drinking mode, and we ended up starting our drinking session at a different bar before our reservation time. The place was located near Rokumata intersection in Ikebukuro East Exit, along Kasuga Street.
We had already enjoyed some grilled skewers at "Bukuro Sakaba" before arriving at the familiar "Kushi Katsu Tanaka." This Osaka-style skewer restaurant offers a all-you-can-eat course for 1,480 yen (excluding tax) and an all-you-can-drink option for 980 yen (same). There were some rules to follow, but within the time limit, we could eat endless skewers and drink as much as we wanted. It had been a while since I visited Kushi Katsu Tanaka, but there was a sense of comfort in being there. I mainly stuck to beef skewers, pork skewers, onion skewers, sausage skewers, and pickled ginger skewers, repeating my favorite choices. The sauce at Kushi Katsu Tanaka had a smooth and fruity flavor that complemented the skewers well without feeling too heavy.
During a break, I sipped on a weakly diluted highball, which surprisingly helped me keep up with the eating pace despite it being our second stop. My companion also maintained a remarkable pace, making me wish I could keep up like this for a while longer. It was a memorable experience, and I couldn't help but feel grateful for moments like these.

I visit "Kushikatsu Tanaka" about once a month. This time, after having tsukemen for dinner, I passed by the restaurant and couldn't resist stopping by. We ordered the following items: appetizer for 250 yen, Premium Malts Ale for 380 yen, Pacific saury for 120 yen, white leek for 100 yen, lotus root for 100 yen, and tsukune for 120 yen. The Pacific saury was a bit thin but had a strong flavor. The white leek, despite being an unusual combination with sauce, tasted great when fried in batter as kushikatsu. The lotus root had a crispy texture and blended well with the batter. The tsukune was quite ordinary, but the light frying made it easy to eat even after having tsukemen. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

Three years ago on social media... I visited my husband's family home and then went to "Kushikatsu Tanaka Higashi Ikebukuro Sunshine Store" with my nieces in the evening. As expected! Kushikatsu Tanaka offers various services for children such as making your own takoyaki with a reservation of 6 or more people, free drink for kids if they win a game of rock-paper-scissors, and self-serve soft-serve ice cream for kids. They also have popular dishes like macaroni salad curry flavor, tulip fried chicken, and cheese okonomiyaki with lots of green onions. Even my 90-year-old grandma enjoyed the light kushikatsu skewers. If you have any recommendations for child-friendly restaurants in Ikebukuro with no stairs, please let me know! Thank you very much.

After finishing my last shift of the year, I visited a restaurant with two female colleagues. It was a Monday night, so there was no time limit, and we were able to stay for 3 and a half hours, enjoying a leisurely and fun time. I was surprised by the unique promotion where rolling two dice resulted in a free drink for doubles, half price for evens, and a large pitcher for odds. Essentially, it meant everything was half price. We stayed longer than at any other izakaya before, but we were constantly eating and drinking. It seems that kushikatsu pairs well with alcohol.

When you think of Kushikatsu Tanaka, you think of Chinchiror Highball! The combination of that highball and kushikatsu is incredibly delicious! You can also make your own mashed potato salad in your own unique way, which is great! The interior of the restaurant is a bit small, so it may not accommodate large groups very well!
