Good evening. This is Cammy. Today, I had a rare banquet in Kanda. You might be wondering what kind of place "Sandaime Torimero" is, but it's actually a restaurant owned by the Watami Group. It stands out in front of the station and the cute bird logo caught my attention. Our restaurant is known for being very affordable. Especially the 199 yen draft beer is amazing. And the grilled chicken thigh for that price is also very reasonable. In addition to yakitori, they have a variety of voluminous menu items like kushikatsu. My acquaintance ordered highballs and Torimero highballs. The salted kelp cabbage appetizer was delicious, so I had seconds. The service from the staff is also excellent, better than other chain restaurants like Watami.

Kanda Nishiguchi Shotengai entrance, on the second floor of the building, you will find Sandaime Torimero. Sandaime Torimero is the successor to Watamin-ya. Our restaurant used to be Watamin-ya before. It seems like Sandaime Torimero is trying to compete with Torikizoku, just like Montarosa with Bungotakada chicken izakaya and Watami with Sandaime Torimero. Torikizoku is like Suntory, Bungotakada chicken izakaya is like Kirin, and Sandaime Torimero is like Asahi, offering a very affordable 199 yen (excluding tax) draft beer. I visited this place as the first stop of the night with a drinking buddy. We were seated in a spacious raised seating area with a two-hour time limit. We started with the draft beer (199 yen excluding tax). The appetizer was salted kombu cabbage (300 yen excluding tax), a simple yet excellent dish. This salted kombu cabbage has been a favorite since the Watamin-ya days. Even though there was no explanation from the staff, the fact that refills are free was a nice touch. We also tried the smoked potato salad (399 yen excluding tax), which was delicious but the portion was small. The skewers start at 150 yen each, which is a bit on the pricey side. We had the grilled chicken skewer assortment (999 yen excluding tax), which was not as good as Torikizoku. We used the free cabbage refills to fill up. In terms of drinks, apart from the draft beer, there weren't many cost-effective options, so we ended up having 10 draft beers between the two of us. Overall, it seems like our go-to here is the draft beer and free cabbage refills.

As an izakaya, the food and drinks are average. The highball seems a bit watered down. There also seems to be a shortage of staff, as the drinks take a while to arrive. In the past, I have had great experiences with restaurants related to the Watami group, but this one was just average, with somewhat careless service. Considering the variety of restaurants in Kanda, I might choose to go elsewhere next time.

Enoki mushroom tempura skewers: A great menu item for mushroom lovers, a creative twist on tempura skewers that I hope they continue to develop. Onion tempura skewers: A simple menu item but the batter was well done.
