My friend who lives overseas came back to Japan for a while, so we decided to meet in Shinjuku! She wanted to go to an izakaya, so we decided to try this chain izakaya that I had never been to before. The restaurant was located on the upper floors of a food building. When we entered, it was almost full, but luckily we were seated by the window. I was happy to see that they had my favorite strong green tea shochu cocktail. We ordered some drinks and dishes. We tried various types of yakitori, including tsukune, which was delicious. We also ordered horse sashimi, which was as good as always. The plum wine was a great accompaniment to our meal. The staff were very polite and the menu had a wide variety of dishes. I would definitely like to visit again. Thank you for the meal!

Yakitori Restaurant Sumire Shinjuku Ooguard
Lemon sour all-you-can-drink for 60 minutes for only 500 yen! I heard that you can pour your own refills from the tabletop server, so I decided to visit. This is such a great deal! Having a server on the table where you can refill your drink means no waiting time for additional orders like in regular all-you-can-drink services. This is actually quite important because in some places, the refills never come. Additionally, if you get tired of regular lemon sour, there are 3 types of syrups available for free! Peach, honey, and sour lemon. By adding peach, it becomes a bit sour yet you can still taste the peach flavor, making it delicious. Adding honey makes it smooth and easy to drink, while adding sour lemon brings out the lemon flavor. I didn't mix them this time, but it seems fun to discover your own favorite flavor! I enjoyed tasting many lemon sours. Thank you for the meal.

I used it for the first time before, and of course, I started with a toast with beer. Next, I tried the table lemon sour, which I had been wanting to try. The alcohol was a bit strong, just the way I like it, and it was easy to drink - maybe vodka-based? The cabbage appetizer was all-you-can-eat, and it was crunchy and delicious. But my favorite has to be the yakitori skewers. The salted hina toro and sesame oil salted king liver were amazing! The toro, bonjiri, and gizzard were all cooked and salted perfectly. The eringi mushrooms with garlic butter soy sauce were also a favorite. Lastly, I enjoyed sipping on chicken skin with yuzu ponzu. Before I knew it, the 60 minutes were up. The atmosphere was nice, and all the food was delicious. I often go drinking in Shinjuku, so I will definitely go back again!

I was drawn to the local atmosphere and decided to try Oyama Tori. The prices for yakitori vary, but considering the price and taste, it felt like a good deal. The tsukune skewer was surprisingly large. I've noticed a trend of ordering through LINE by adding friends and this restaurant also follows that, which I'm not a big fan of. However, despite being quite busy, the service was surprisingly fast after ordering. I love the sauce and ended up ordering more of it, but next time I want to try the salt flavor.

Located right next to Shinjuku Ooguard, on the 5th floor of a building. Maybe the closure of Zasan in the same building had an impact on the almost full seating here. We chose this place because it's open until midnight. The restaurant is packed. The counter has social distancing measures, but the table seats are normal. The interior is full of young people. If this situation were shown on TV, there would be a lot of criticism. We started with beer (Kirin). Despite the busy atmosphere, the service was quick. The appetizer was cabbage with salt dressing for 363 yen per person, a bit pricey. The skewers were decent: crispy cartilage for 218 yen, bonjiri salt for 218 yen, hinadoro for 273 yen – they were tasty for their price. The fried chicken from Ooyama chicken for 548 yen was good. The mixed fried potato for 328 yen was average. The avocado soy sauce for 438 yen was a favorite. The chives and bean sprouts for 438 yen were a miss. The Ooyama chicken salt offal hot pot for 1280 yen for one person was the biggest disappointment. We added extra for two people and tofu. The soup ruined the offal with its strong artificial flavoring, but the ingredients were good. Overall, the skewers were the best part.

I felt like eating some lightly grilled chicken skewers and found a place near Shinjuku Station. They had a drink special where you could drink cheaply. I only ordered skewers and a bowl of rice for a short stay, but for this price and the quality of the skewers, I have no complaints. The restaurant layout is similar to a chain restaurant, so I will definitely come back for some casual grilled chicken skewers!

I was looking for a restaurant near Shinjuku Nishiguchi and found this place. It was my first time at this store, but I knew it would be delicious because I had been to another Sumire store before. It was around 8:00 pm on a weekday. I didn't have a reservation, but I asked anyway, and they said there was space in the tatami room, so I was able to get in right away! You order using a touch panel, and you can also call the staff using the touch panel, which is convenient! The appetizer was cabbage, and you could get refills, so I ate a lot! Of course, you can order more cabbage easily with the touch panel. The menu mainly consisted of yakitori and other chicken dishes. There were plenty of vegetable skewers too, like tomato wrapped in bacon and buttered eringi mushrooms. There were so many options, it was fun deciding what to order next. Since we were very hungry, the three of us girls ate a lot! I ordered a lemon-heavy Gachi Lemon Sour for my drink, and then added more Nakadaka afterwards. The additional drink was only 198 yen, so it was very cost-effective. Even though we ate and drank a lot, it was less than 4000 yen per person! Maybe because we ate so much cabbage? (laughs) The food and drinks were served promptly, and it was a very good value yakitori restaurant.

It depends on the store, but the Grand Guard is highly recommended. It has good value for money, the food is great with no misses, and the beer is delicious. Even with all-you-can-drink, the service is efficient. It tends to be crowded even on weekdays, so calling ahead is essential.

I forgot to take photos of the food and drinks, but everything was delicious and satisfying! Thank you for preparing a table for us even though we made a last-minute reservation. However, I was surprised by the difference in service skills among the female staff. Some were smiling and friendly, while others were not so welcoming... I understand that it must be tough in such a busy restaurant, but I think it would be beneficial to improve the overall service level. It can really affect the enjoyment of the food and drinks...

I use it occasionally. Just in case, I made a reservation, but when I went on a weekday after a long time, it was quite crowded. It's nice that there is a happy hour if you go by 19:00!

The fried chicken is good enough. It's a bit expensive for the portion size. The drink is average, like other chain restaurants.

I have used other stores before, but the staff were friendly and made my experience enjoyable. However, it was a bit disappointing that the drink order was a little slow... Overall, I am satisfied.
