On Sunday, I visited the Rainbow Pool at Showa Memorial Park for some errands. Feeling hungry, I decided to stop by "Asian Cafe Aroi" inside the pool. They offer typical Thai dishes as well as beach house-style menu items. The seating is available, but it's a self-service system where you order at the counter and carry your food to your table. After a short wait in line, I ordered the "Pad Thai" (700 yen) and "Fried Chicken" (300 yen) this time. They also had a mysterious Odaiba Collaboration item called "Snow Ice Mango" (500 yen), but I decided to pass on that. The food was prepared quickly, and I received my order without much wait. I enjoyed slurping the Pad Thai, which had a street food vibe, and the fried chicken was decent. Overall, it was a typical Thai cuisine experience that you can enjoy at the pool.

Today, I had lunch with my kids at Rainbow Pool. I was aiming for Thai noodles, so I stopped by "Aroi". The restaurant had an adult-like atmosphere. I carefully looked at the menu inside the restaurant and ordered "Thai-style noodles, light taste (700 yen)" and "Snow Ice Mango (350 yen)". The pool was not crowded, maybe because of the cloudy sky. It somehow felt like the end of summer. The plastic container for the Thai-style noodles was quite small. It had celery, bean sprouts, watercress, nuts, and chicken. Because of the small bowl, the yellow lemon looked oddly large. The pepper-seasoned chicken was spicy. The soup had a light and gentle taste. The noodles were rice noodles as expected, with a satisfying texture. The light taste may not be enough for adults. I added fish sauce and chili to increase the flavor. It was spicy, hot, but delicious. The Snow Ice was delicious and melted in the mouth. It was like mango sauce on vanilla shaved ice. A good texture that melts in the mouth. I also bought the standard ramen at the store. I wanted something to go with beer. I purchased "Ramen Pork Bone Soy Sauce Flavor (600 yen)" and "Fried Chicken (400 yen)". The soup was heavy in a large bowl. The big slices of pork were not overlooked. It was unusual to have cabbage in it. The medium-thick noodles had a satisfying chewiness. It was well done for ramen at a place like this. The fried chicken was perfect for drinking beer. There was an ice carving show by the poolside. The ice sculpture was carved with a chainsaw, and dry ice was used to cool the area. The skill of the winner of the Swiss International Competition was impressive. This kind of event is enjoyable for kids. Overall, the gentle Thai-style noodles were like Vietnamese pho with rice noodles. It was a delicious meal.
