I researched on Tabelog that a new restaurant opened in Shinjuku on April 13th, and as a big fan of meat skewers, I went there right away. The restaurant is very clean and has a cozy bar atmosphere since it just opened. Even the restroom is clean and pleasant. Regarding the food, all the meat dishes are incredibly fresh with a good portion size and surprisingly high quality. You can order from your smartphone by scanning a QR code, and the polite service from the staff left a good impression on me. Starting with the "tantomoto," I was amazed by the freshness and volume of the meat. The tender and juicy "tongue" and "harami," as well as the delicious "negi" and "shiitake" which go well with grilled meat, were all tasty. Especially, the flavor and taste of the shiitake were wonderful, so I ordered another serving. Every dish was delicious, so even though I usually avoid fatty meat, today I decided to take a break from my diet (laughs). I also tried the "beef hormone" with its tender and fatty texture, which was exquisite. The "upper nankotsu" and "kokoro no kori" are rare cuts that skewer lovers will adore. Additionally, the thinly sliced "tongue sashimi" and "toro liver sashimi" were melt-in-your-mouth textures, which were also excellent. I think these are specialties unique to this place. There is a wide variety of side dishes, such as "okra pickles," "fresh green peppers," and spicy "kimchi," all of which pair well with grilled meat. Among them, the "sesame leaf rice ball" was delicious with the right amount of saltiness and fragrant sesame leaf. Lastly, I got carried away and ordered ramen from the motsu-yaki restaurant. This was also surprisingly delicious. The ramen has a rich soup with motsu, and I've never had ramen like this before. Every dish was truly amazing. Overall, Hanare Fujiiya offers a wide variety of meat dishes, all of which are delicious and satisfying. The staff's service was excellent, and the atmosphere was pleasant. If you want to eat meat sashimi, skewers, and hormone in Shinjuku, I will definitely come back here. Thank you for the meal.

On Thursday night, I visited with my colleagues. We ordered a platter of raw meat slices, liver skewers, simmered salted tripe, and liver skewers in broth. The platter included 4 slices each of liver, heart, and tongue, and they were all incredibly delicious. The simmered tripe had a unique salty flavor that was refreshing, and the taste of the tripe came through nicely. There was more food than we expected, and we thought that ordering about 2 servings of the platter, simmered tripe, and liver skewers each for 4 men was just right (even with 2 drinks each, it was less than 4000 yen per person). Ordering was done by scanning a QR code on my phone, but unfortunately, there were no photos of the dishes, so we couldn't tell how much we were getting. The restaurant was clean, and the prices were quite cheap, so I will definitely visit again when I crave liver sashimi.

I saw a happy hour sign and decided to take a walk and hydrate. A handsome waiter complimented me, which made me happy. I ordered some cheap chu-hai and shared cabbage with my dog, Sherry. I had a refill of highball and paid the bill. I wanted to relax, but got bitten by mosquitoes. The bill was: appetizer 339 yen, cucumber 390 yen, lemon chu-hai 190 yen, highball 190 yen, plus tax. Thank you for the meal.

This is Shinjuku Sanchome. I wandered around looking for horumon and finally arrived at the horumon holy land. I'm not sure if I can call it a holy land, but it's only a matter of time before you realize its charm once you come here, haha. The fresh horumon sashimi here is fantastic. The Toro liver sashimi, heart sashimi, and tongue sashimi are a must-order! They also have mega jugs for drinks, so it's a paradise for those who love alcohol! There are also seats outside, so when the weather is calm, you'll want to drink outside. I went on a Saturday evening and there was still some seating available. It's still somewhat of a hidden gem in Shinjuku Sanchome, so it will likely become a well-known spot among those in the know. It's been a while since I found a horumon restaurant of this level in Shinjuku. If you go, the must-order items are: - Assorted raw meat sashimi for 1529 yen - Assorted skewers for 979 yen - Salted tripe stew for 593 yen - Famous lemon sour for 548 yen If you're interested, be sure to check it out!

Weekend day drinking ~ The best izakaya with motsuyaki and various snacks @ Shinjuku Sanchome. Is this a tropical country? The temperature is 36 degrees on a scorching hot day, so it's important to stay hydrated during the day. Motsuyaki Fujiya Hanare-san offers a wide variety of affordable snacks and motsuyaki dishes. Located in Shinjuku 3-9-10 Hashizuka Building 1F, it opens at 2 pm on weekends. You can also enjoy outdoor seating, but the cool indoor option is recommended. Starting with a refreshing beer, we ordered snacks such as umesuisyo (pickled plums), salted motsu stew, and snack mentaiko (spicy cod roe) for 490 yen each. The pickled plums with cucumber were a perfect match, the salted motsu stew was refreshing, and the snack mentaiko was a new discovery. We then tried the specialty motsuyaki dishes, including rare cuts such as tongue base, throat cartilage, heart tubes, and rib meat for 290 yen each. All were delicious! We couldn't resist trying the limited quantity liver and leek stew for 690 yen. The liver and leek stew was a masterpiece of deliciousness! We were even provided with a gas burner and frying pan to cook it ourselves. The liver was tender and tasty. Finally, we enjoyed the reliable ham cutlet for 490 yen. The various snacks and motsuyaki dishes were delicious, making it the perfect izakaya for weekend day drinking. Fujiya Hanare-san is a great place to stop by for a drink whenever you feel like it. They have branches in Hamamatsucho, Gotanda, Nishi-Shinjuku, Meguro, Akabane, and other areas throughout Tokyo.

Located in front of the underground exit of Shinjuku Sanchome Station, Fujiiya Hanare is a cozy restaurant with the words "motsuyaki" (grilled offal) on its sign. It's a convenient spot to escape the heat, especially on a scorching day like this. We started with a cold beer, served in a frosty glass that made it extra delicious. The appetizer was water cabbage, served promptly after our drinks, perfect for snacking. The miso dip for the water cabbage was a nice touch. Next, we tried the famous grilled liver, which was fresh, tender, and flavorful. The grilled beef hormone was a must-try, with a bouncy texture and savory sauce. The bonjiri (chicken tail) was perfectly grilled and seasoned. The chicken thigh was juicy and tender, a true delight. The tsukune (chicken meatball) had a nice chewy texture and paired well with the peppers. The macaroni salad was creamy and rich, a nostalgic taste from home. The crispy fried chicken was hot and satisfying. To finish off, we had the tamago kake gohan (egg over rice) with a mix of egg, bonito flakes, green onions, and sesame seeds. Despite being full, we couldn't resist the delicious flavors. The restaurant had a nostalgic atmosphere and a clean interior. It was a fantastic dining experience!

During an evening stroll, I replenished my fluids with a large Mega Chu-Hi and edamame. The bill came to 1680 yen, which felt higher than expected due to the tax being added on top of the pre-tax display, as well as the complimentary appetizer. Personally, I think the total amount would feel more consistent if it was displayed with tax included from the beginning. The staff at the restaurant were still as friendly as ever. My father, who had just turned 80, passed away this morning. Since our family grave is in Sendai, we decided to opt for a simple cremation without a funeral. It all felt quite sudden. Perhaps holding a funeral is a way to prevent things from ending so abruptly. Thank you for the meal.

In the hot summer, I wanted to enjoy a cold beer and delicious motsunabe, so I headed to Hanare Fujiya in Shinjuku Sanchome, which is conveniently located near Shinjuku Isetan. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very cozy, with many other nice restaurants nearby. Cheers with a beer and oolong tea in copper cups was amazing. The beer was refreshing and the oolong tea was cool, perfect for the hot weather. The appetizer was water cabbage with delicious miso sauce. The tataki cucumber was seasoned perfectly and very tasty. The beef hormone with sweet soy sauce was my favorite, followed by the bonjiri which had a great texture and flavor. The tsukune with a rich sauce and crunchy texture was also delicious. The fresh kimchi was a great palate cleanser. The recommended chicken thigh was tender and perfectly cooked. The macaroni salad was creamy and flavorful. The ham cutlet was thick and crispy, and the fried chicken was juicy and well-seasoned. The restaurant offers great food at reasonable prices in a welcoming atmosphere. I will definitely visit again!

While walking in Shinjuku Sanchome, I stumbled upon a sign that said "Fujiya." After a quick search, I found out that a new branch of Fujiya had recently opened. It seemed like it wasn't very well-known yet, as there was no line and I was able to easily enter the restaurant. The place had about two tables filled, and it was surprising to see that they even had a spacious underground seating area for a Fujiya branch. I decided to cool off with a highball and toasted to the scorching hot day. The metal glass made my fingers feel cold, which was refreshing. I snacked on the classic cabbage and miso appetizer while quickly ordering some easy-to-make dishes like "chilled tomatoes," "raw green peppers," and "raw kimchi," while waiting for the grilled dishes. The kimchi, tossed in sauce, was delicious. The grilled skewers included "tongue," "harami," and "tsukune," all of which were quite large and had a hearty texture. The moist center of the skewers was cooked just right, and the generous amount of Japanese mustard added a delightful kick. The tsukune came with green peppers, which were a must-eat combination. I couldn't decide on the sashimi, so I went for the "assorted raw organ meat," which included liver, heart, and tongue, all prepared at a low temperature with a hint of rawness and no unpleasant smell. Various condiments made it easy to enjoy. I added a few more skewers, including the Fujiya specialty "leek liver" and the recommended "chicken thigh." The leek liver skewer was a must-try with a generous amount of leeks piled on top, and the chicken thigh had a firm texture and rich flavor. For the finale, I had the "ramen from a motsu-yaki restaurant" with thick noodles and a slightly cloudy soup that was light and easy to eat, making it a perfect ending. As I continued eating, I was pleasantly surprised by the abundance of small intestine in the dish. While the Ebisu branch of Fujiya often had long lines even before opening, the "Shinjuku Sanchome Fujiya Hanare" branch with its terrace seating and underground area is easy to enter quickly. If you ever crave motsu-yaki in Shinjuku, this might be the place to go.

Shinjuku Sanchome Station is just a 1-minute walk away from this restaurant, which is clean and has a sense of cleanliness. It offers a variety of seating options including private booths and terrace seats. Although the terrace seats seem nice, I chose to sit inside this time due to the scorching heat. To cool down my overheated body, I started with a super cold lemon sour for a cheers! Ah, it's so refreshing. [Appetizer] Cabbage & Miso: The miso served with the cabbage is excellent, and not only does it go well with the cabbage, but it also tastes great with the skewers. [Skewers] Chicken cartilage, tsukune (with green pepper), harami (skirt steak), tongue, chicken liver, grilled chicken thigh: The skewers are cooked to perfection with just the right amount of salt. Each piece of meat is tender and juicy, providing a satisfying bite. I recommend trying the chicken cartilage and tongue, which are rare cuts, as well as the chicken liver if you're a fan of it. [Assorted raw meat] Liver, heart, tongue: The contents may vary depending on the day, so I recommend ordering the fresh sashimi dishes when you visit. This time, I chose a variety of types in a small assortment. They are all cooked at low temperatures, giving a taste similar to eating them raw. With plenty of condiments, you can enjoy changing flavors while eating. [Appetizers] Green pepper, chilled tomato, kimchi: The vegetables are fresh with simple seasoning, making them a perfect side dish for the skewers and sashimi. [Rice] Motsuyakiya's ramen: I was drawn to the name of this dish and it was the right choice! The ramen is a perfect way to finish the meal. Despite its appearance of being very rich, it is not overly so. It is full of umami flavor, with medium-thick noodles that go well with the soup. As it is called "Motsuyakiya's ramen," it includes plenty of motsu (offal), which is a nice touch. You can place your order by scanning the QR code with your smartphone, making the process efficient especially when the restaurant is busy. The staff is friendly, cheerful, and provides attentive service. It was a pleasant dining experience. Thank you for the meal.

On a hot summer evening, I stopped by a relatively new bar called Sheri during my walk. I haven't been drinking much lately, so I don't really notice new drinking spots. I wonder if this place has been around for a while? I checked with the staff if it was okay to sit on the terrace with my dog, and they said it was fine. I enjoyed a refreshing glass of Hoppy, which tasted pretty good. The copper glass was nice and cold, and the refill came in a small copper glass too. The cabbage appetizer was juicy, but lacked flavor. The raw bell peppers were seasoned with sesame oil and salt. The homemade kimchi was not very fermented, and the homemade osinko was decently flavored even without the salted kelp and yuzu peel. It was a one-person operation, but the QR code ordering system made it quick and convenient. The staff was very friendly and made sure I stayed hydrated with a smile. The prices on the menu were excluding tax, which made the final bill feel higher than expected. I prefer when prices are displayed including tax. Overall, the lack of vegetables in the dishes left me wanting more, as I usually eat organic or naturally grown vegetables. Thank you for the meal.

Fujiya Hanare in Shinjuku Sanchome is a popular izakaya specializing in motsuyaki (grilled offal dishes). The seating on the first floor and basement is a bit narrow, offering a variety of dishes such as sashimi, grilled items, and other izakaya fare. Alcoholic drinks are around 500 yen, while soft drinks are 328 yen. The highlight is definitely the assorted grilled offal plate, which includes liver, heart, and tongue - all delicious. The potato salad with mentaiko sauce was flavorful and well-seasoned. Grilled items like pig's head, cheek meat, and harami were enjoyable with good portion sizes and no unpleasant odor. The salted motsu stew is a must-try, with a refreshing taste compared to the usual rich stew. Overall, Fujiya Hanare offers a classic lineup of dishes you'd expect from a casual izakaya.

Today, I was intrigued by the naming of the menu and decided to try "Reba-nira." It was written in red letters on the menu, most likely indicating it as a recommended dish and limited in quantity. A stove and iron plate were brought over for setting up, and suddenly the small table became busy. The staff asked, "Are you okay with the oil splattering?" Well, even if they asked at this timing, haha. They first generously poured oil into the pot and lined it with chives, placing the marinated liver on top. They worked efficiently. There was a lot of liver in the dish, making it quite substantial. It might get a bit boring if you're eating alone. Sharing is recommended for two or more people. Thank you for the meal.

A new motsunabe restaurant appeared in Shinjuku Sanchome. I didn't have time the day before, and since you can get various things depending on the number of visits, I unexpectedly visited two days in a row. The hormone here is said to be fresh, delivered directly from the slaughterhouse. It does seem to have little smell. The salt stewed dish I had last time was also good without any smell. Today, I chose the motsu-yaki assorted platter. I felt that all of them were at a level where I could be satisfied. And all of this for less than 1,000 yen is a great effort by the restaurant. The Shari-kin lemon sour was excellent. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the new branch of the motsunabe restaurant "Fujiya" in Shinjuku Sanchome, and they have another new store in the same area. If you register on the Fujiya group's app, you will receive one free motsuyaki liver. It was delicious. The salt simmered dish had a gentle sweetness without much odor, and the lemon sour from Sharikin helped cut through the fat. The service seemed a bit inexperienced, but I hope they continue to work hard to create a good restaurant. Writing restaurant reviews is difficult, as it involves giving one-sided ratings after already completing a transaction that should have been a two-way interaction. So, I try to write things that I believe are beneficial for both the restaurant and the readers. Thank you very much.

For the past six months, the izakaya "Fujiya" has been my most visited restaurant. On my way home, I was suggested to stop by a chain izakaya, but if I'm going to stop somewhere, I want to eat something delicious! I did some research and found out that there's also a "Fujiya" in Shinjuku Sanchome! Lucky me! The menu at Fujiya in Shinjuku Sanchome seems to be similar to other branches. (Maybe I just didn't notice?) Fujiya is always tasty, affordable, and satisfying no matter which branch you visit! We started with a toast with beer. The appetizer was cabbage. I prefer to have my own plate of onion slices. The onion slices here are topped with plenty of condiments and even a raw egg yolk, giving them a satisfying texture. (But I eat it all by myself. Sorry.) We ordered various skewers that caught our eye. The first order is taken at the table, but afterwards, you use a QR code to place orders at your table. Nodo-bue (throat cartilage) 308 yen (1 piece) is a rare part. The texture is irresistible. Negireba (liver) 318 yen (1 piece) I don't usually eat liver, but it was recommended on the QR code page, so I ordered it on impulse. Fujiya's liver is delicious even for someone like me who doesn't usually eat it. The generous amount of seasoned green onions on top makes it a tasty dish that you can't dislike. Shiromotsu (large intestine) 165 yen (1 piece) I usually order teppo (rectum) but I made a mistake (hehe). But it was so delicious that my companion really liked it and kept ordering more. Fresh offal is always delicious! Tsukune (minced chicken skewer) 318 yen (1 piece) It came with a bell pepper! A crispy one! The crunchy tsukune with the crispy bell pepper was undeniably delicious! I was getting full, so I had a highball and ice cream for dessert, but my companion who was experiencing Fujiya for the first time was still enjoying more skewers. I'm glad they liked it so much.

After work, I stopped by on a whim. I wanted a drink and some motsuyaki! I found a delicious looking restaurant right next to the subway entrance. It looked clean for a motsuyaki place, and I found out it had just opened. First, I cheers with a lemon sour. I love liver, so I didn't hesitate to order this! [Toro liver sashimi 690 yen] The low-temperature cooked liver tastes and feels just like raw liver! Low-temperature cooked liver sashimi is common, but many places overcook it and it ends up dry. However, the low-temperature cooked liver sashimi here tastes really like raw liver and is incredibly delicious! I was so satisfied that I thought, is this really worth the price? I should have ordered another plate! I also ordered skewers: Harami 160 yen, Tongue 160 yen. The grilling was perfect! They were tender and juicy. Are these really worth the price? (laughs) Next, I had Negi Reba 290 yen, Sagari 290 yen. The Negi Reba was so amazing that I ended up ordering another one. The moist liver goes perfectly with the mountain of green onions! The green onions are seasoned just right and taste delicious! Even the leftover green onions make a great snack. [Mixed raw meat platter 1390 yen] Tongue, Heart, Kobe beef. They were so fresh and incredibly delicious! It was a generous portion, but I finished it all in no time. Skewers: Heart 150 yen, Shiitake mushroom 250 yen. Both were delicious! The shiitake mushroom was grilled perfectly! Chicken liver 150 yen, Tsukune 290 yen. I had the tsukune with green pepper. Everything was so delicious, I was surprised! This is a place I want to become a regular at. Thank you for the meal!

Shinjuku Sanchome is a convenient place where you can quickly have a drink and some snacks before heading home, as it is close to Shinjuku Isetan. This newly opened restaurant has a bright and clean atmosphere on the first floor and basement floor. I had been to their Ebisu branch before, so I was familiar with this chain and decided to stop by with friends after work. We were lucky to catch their special promotion of 100 yen highball drinks. We ended up ordering highballs throughout the night. The appetizer was crispy cabbage and miso with garlic flavor. We quickly picked out what we wanted to eat from the menu. The fatty liver sashimi was a popular limited item and we were lucky to get it. It was incredibly fresh. We also ordered quail eggs and umeshiso, which are must-have snacks. The skewers made with freshly sourced offal were delicious, especially the negi liver with plenty of green onions. The spicy raw kimchi was addictively tasty. We couldn't resist trying the salt simmered offal, which was rich and comforting. We also ordered some vegetables like raw green peppers and chilled tomatoes. For our third highball, we had mentaiko as a snack. To finish off, we had the sesame leaf rice ball that I fell in love with at the Ebisu branch. The freshly cooked rice was expertly packed with Korean seaweed and sesame leaves. The majority of the menu items were reasonably priced, making it a great value for money. What was supposed to be a quick drink turned into a long and enjoyable stay, thanks to the delicious snacks and cozy atmosphere. The young staff members were efficient and friendly, making our experience even more enjoyable. This is a great place to remember for casual drinks with close friends.

Grilled motsu (offal) and highball! I wanted to have a drink at Fujiya, a newly opened restaurant. The design of the restaurant is calming, even though it's new. The atmosphere of the motsu-yaki (grilled offal) genre, with its Showa era vibe, is enjoyable. Note: The restaurant is clean and tidy! There are many options, but I chose from the menu where there are recommended items. What was incredibly delicious was: - Toro liver sashimi: As the name suggests, it's really fatty. It melts in your mouth, and wait, this is liver? There's no trace of the usual liver texture, just a sweet, smooth, and moist flavor. Oh, I want to eat this every day. - Kokoro no kori (heart tubes): A part that can only be taken from 1 to 2 pieces per head. It's the connection between the heart and liver. You can enjoy the muscular texture of the heart and the crunchy texture of the blood vessels. I imagined something tube-like, but it's more like heart. It does have a slightly firm heart-like texture. Just try something unusual and have a laugh! - Tsukune: Packed with green onions, the meat is juicy. The cartilage is finely chopped and included (wait, it was included, right?!), providing a great texture. Juicy with meat juices, delicious! The addition of raw green peppers, which complement the meat, is a nice touch that balances out the meat and alcohol. There was also negiyaki (green onion pancake) on the menu, which was fun and delicious. We also ordered meat sashimi and enjoyed the fresh motsu, which is their specialty. We toasted with a draft beer and then enjoyed the Hakka highball. The motsu-yaki was delicious! We were getting full, so we finished with rice. - Egoma leaf rice ball: The egoma leaf is soaked in oil, sticking perfectly to the rice ball. The unity with the white rice is amazing. And, you know what, it's sprinkled with seaweed, which makes it even more delicious. Eating motsu-yaki and rice balls, enjoying the bound meal, felt a bit sinful. The restaurant is small, but there is a basement floor and terrace seating, so it has a decent capacity. I was drinking in the middle of the week, and customers kept coming in, so I recommend making a reservation! Despite being newly opened, it's popular maybe because you can enjoy fresh motsu. Just come out of the Shinjuku Sanchome exit, take the elevator, make a U-turn, and you'll be in the world of motsu-yaki. I want to visit this place not just for a drink, but also just to eat Toro liver sashimi!

We were looking for a place where we could eat quickly with the staff, and ended up at Hanare in Shinjuku Sanchome! It's conveniently located and very clean, with a new feel to it. There are two floors, the first floor and the basement floor. It opens at 3 pm, which is very appealing! We started with a toast with tomato juice. The food was delicious, especially the Komemami Tan Harami. It was stable in its deliciousness! It was rare to see beef hormone skewers. I love enoki mushrooms! They also had a good selection of rare cuts of meat. The Tan Motonjo Nankotsu Kokoronokori Sagari was really delicious! The texture of the Nankotsu was amazing! The Tan sashimi and Toro liver sashimi were also delicious. The lightly pickled okra, raw green peppers, and raw kimchi were refreshing. I love sesame leaf rice balls! The ramen here is unlike any other ramen you've had at a motsu-yaki restaurant. For dessert, we had hojicha ice cream and vanilla ice cream. Everything was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

This week, I have been working at the office every day, so I decided to leave early on Wednesday to replenish my stamina. I went to a place near the third station from Shinjuku, a bit away from the busy city center, which is close to my usual running route. I started with a draft beer served in a stylish copper tumbler, which tasted great in the heat. I enjoyed some edamame as a snack and quickly finished my first beer. I ordered another one without worrying about the price, as the grilled pork dishes were reasonably priced at around 150 to 300 yen each. I ordered various cuts like cheek, belly, and tongue, and savored them with mustard. The hot and fresh meat was the best. I also felt like having some fried chicken, so I ordered that too. The freshly fried chicken was delicious, and I couldn't resist ordering another beer. I ended up eating too much and feeling full, but I felt happy and refreshed. Now, I am ready to work hard for the rest of the week on Thursday and Friday.
