Continuing from January 2020... During our 1 night 2 day trip in Tokyo, we stayed at Hotel Sunroute "Stella" Ueno. It's located just a short walk from JR Ueno Station, so it's convenient to walk to the zoo. Chibitsunu: "It's great to be able to line up at the zoo early in the morning." We plan to have dinner at the restaurant on the 1st floor of the hotel before relaxing in our room until dinner time. Chibitsunu: "I made a reservation at the restaurant when we checked in." Oh, look at this cute little one! It's a Shanshan plush toy we bought at the zoo. It was released on Shanshan's 2nd birthday, and I was worried it might be sold out, but I managed to get it! Chibitsunu: "One is for my friend's plush toy." We met up with the plush toy in front of the restaurant. In fact, the plush toy also came to Tokyo for a 1 night 2 day trip starting today, and they were sightseeing in a different place for lunch. The interior was almost full, so it was a good idea to make a reservation. First, let's cheers with 3 people! I had a Kolsch-style beer for 650 yen, and the plush toy and chibitsunu had oolong tea for 450 yen. 10 boiled vegetable and Parmigiano cheese salad for 1,100 yen. Cobalt (bread fee) 380 yen x 3. The bread comes with 2 types for 3 people. Tarte flambee for 800 yen. Alsatian-style pizza with onions, bacon, and cream cheese. Aged golden eye snapper carpaccio from Hachijo for 1,800 yen. The alcohol goes down smoothly. I added 2 glasses of Galileo wine (white) for 700 yen each. Rotisserie chicken (1/2 bird) for 1,450 yen. This is the restaurant's specialty dish. It is a simple dish cooked with only salt to enjoy the taste of the chicken. If you ask, the staff will cut the chicken for you. Hmm, everything in this restaurant is delicious. Especially this rotisserie chicken, I want to eat it again! The plush toy was happy to receive a clear file from Matsuzakaya Ueno and a Shanshan plush toy from Ueno Zoo. "Since it was a special year-end party, we decided to stay overnight for at least the second round of drinks. As it was a Friday at the end of the year, all the places in Tokyo were already fully booked and prices were high. In the midst of this, we found a place that was conveniently located near the station and easy to return home from. It had been a while since we stayed at a Sunroute hotel. The exterior showed signs of aging, and the lobby was small, but the staff at the front desk were excellent. There was a beautiful blonde foreigner at the front desk, which made this country bumpkin feel satisfied and gave a sense of being in the city. Since this is a food review, let's talk about breakfast. The menu was typical of a business hotel - a sufficient variety of dishes. What made me happiest was that the white rice was from Ibaraki Prefecture. It was a joy to see rice from a different place being used in Tokyo. Of course, there were also bread options, but on this morning, I focused on the rice. The miso soup was customizable, and I added fried tofu, chopped green onions, and dried seaweed. It was rich in ingredients and very satisfying. My wife always tells me to eat more vegetables, so I made sure to include some in my meal. I may have taken more dishes than usual out of habit, and ended up with a larger and more varied breakfast than I would normally have. I ended up feeling extremely full, even though it was only breakfast. For dessert, yogurt was sold out, so I enjoyed a fruit-only option. Finally, I had a coffee to finish off the meal. Despite drinking late into the night and having soba as a last meal, I had a comfortable morning."

I bought an Asahi Super Dry for 240 yen from a vending machine at the inn, but I didn't buy any snacks that would go well with beer, so I didn't drink it during my stay and ended up taking it home. On August 8th, I stayed at Hotel Sunroute "Stella" Ueno in Tokyo before heading to Gunma for a 1 night, 2 day trip. The hotel is located just a 2-minute walk from Asakusa Exit. I checked in around 9 pm and noticed the restaurant "La Cocorico" on the 1st floor was quite busy, so I decided to eat nearby and return to the hotel early. The hotel rooms were equipped with Simmons beds, Loft-made pillows, and down comforters, providing a comfortable sleep. The next morning, I had breakfast at "La Cocorico" starting at 7 am. The breakfast options included pancakes, a Western-style plate, and a Japanese set meal. I chose the Japanese set meal, which was simple but satisfying. After checking out of the hotel, I headed to Ueno Station.
