I tried to have a quick meal with my child at the neighboring Ootoya, but a new izakaya had opened in the former sushi restaurant space, so I decided to check it out. It was bustling with energy as it was the first day of opening, with lots of customers and staff. The staff, despite being numerous for a first day, were efficient and the food came out quickly. The sashimi was average for an izakaya, not particularly fresh, but it was decent. The yakitori was also average, but the addition of spicy miso was tasty for those who like spicy food. However, the menu had a lot of spicy items, limiting choices for those dining with children. The sweet potato with vanilla ice cream dessert was disappointing as the sweet potato was cold, lacked crispiness, and was overly sweet. The cost performance was not great, but it may be more affordable with a set course. Overall, there was nothing particularly compelling to make me want to return for dinner, but the private rooms in the tatami area may be suitable for nearby office workers to have a quick drink with colleagues after work. (My child, however, wants to go back because they got to eat sweet ice cream they don't usually have. Kids, right?) There seem to be quite a few families with children during lunchtime, perhaps due to the availability of tatami seating. Thank you for the meal.
