I usually use BECK'S COFFEE SHOP Shinjuku Minami-guchi branch for transfers at Shinjuku Station, but today I did a little shopping and headed to Kofu from Shinjuku! The shop located just inside the ticket gates was quite busy, with a line at the register. I managed to find a seat by the window just as my coffee arrived. It was disappointing that they used paper cups even though it was a sit-down cafe. The constant crowd and customers waiting next to me made it feel a bit hectic. A bit disappointing. Thank you for the meal.

When meeting up at Shinjuku Station, I often use this place which is easy to understand and convenient for someone like me from the countryside. This time, I met with two friends at 3 pm, and although there was not much of a line at the order counter, the inside of the store was almost full. It was hot even though it was inside the station, so I decided to have an iced coffee while waiting. I bought the coffee and looked for a space, but only standing space near the entrance was available. It's fine since I can easily see outside. The small size iced coffee was ¥290, and the taste was decent. Since the store is operated by JR, I think it's relatively cheap compared to similar places. They also serve light meals, and if it were a bit less crowded, it would be perfect for meeting up or adjusting the time. I would definitely use this place again when I have the chance.

I ordered a croque-monsieur and a hot coffee. The speed at which the food comes out at the station is impressive. The set cost 710 yen, and if I have to wait before going through the ticket gate, I'd rather be here. The croque-monsieur sandwich was hot, with a crispy outer layer (not too crunchy, which is a plus), and a soft inside. It was very delicious. Even if I didn't have extra time, I would consider eating a sandwich here while waiting.

On the way back from Mitaka. I had to wait about 20 minutes at Shinjuku for my transfer, so I decided to grab a coffee. The location of the cafe was nice, close to the platforms of the Saikyo Line and Shonan-Shinjuku Line, but the limited space inside led to a long line extending outside. There were also many customers getting takeout. I ordered an Americano and a Setouchi Lemon Crueller for a total of 460 yen. It seems that some items on the menu had been raised in price two days ago due to rising ingredient costs. It was a good way to pass the time. I understand the need to cut costs and labor expenses, but I wish they would serve coffee in a mug for dine-in customers. The lemon crueller, with a hint of lemon peel, had a decent taste. Shinjuku station is a terminal station where many foreign customers also come, and I appreciated how smoothly they handled the crowds. It was perfect timing for catching my train! Thank you for the meal~♪~Data~【Shop No.791 / Log No.958】【Date: 6/17/2023, Tabelog rating 3.11】

Sometimes I find myself taking the Azusa train from Shinjuku to go to Nagano prefecture. I had a meeting near the south exit, but couldn't find any notable shops inside the ticket gates. I wandered around the central underground concourse near platforms 7 and 8, and found a JR-affiliated Beck's Coffee shop. They offer four different morning sets, and I ordered the Sausage Potato set, which was a hot dog with potato salad. It was decent. I also got a large coffee, and they accept payment with IC cards, which is convenient. It's great that more and more places are going cashless, as most of my friends don't carry cash anymore. JR-affiliated shops are a lifesaver for opening early in the morning, but with the current labor shortage, I imagine it's tough to find staff. The efficient operation of the shop, with just two employees working together, is impressive. They handle long lines quickly and smoothly, without keeping customers waiting. The tall man and the woman with a ponytail working there are both so cool, it's hard not to be impressed.

I met up at Shinjuku Station to go to Mount Ontake. I couldn't find any information about where to eat in the station, so I decided to look around and found a place called BECK'S with a line forming. Despite not finding a place with a heartier meal, I decided to wait in line. After ordering, I was called in about 4-5 minutes and enjoyed my meal at a table I secured. I ordered something like a hot dog, with a crispy surface on the bread and a delicious sausage. The coffee was also tasty.

During the New Year holiday, I used the JR Seishun 18 Ticket to travel to Kanagawa, Ibaraki, and Tokyo. On the last morning, I tried to visit Coffee Tei Ruan in Omori, but unfortunately they were closed for the holiday. So I decided to go to Kissaten Cool in Shinjuku, but they were also closed for the holiday. In the end, I returned to JR Shinjuku Station and found Beck's Coffee Shop near the ticket gates. I ordered the Ham and Egg Set (with a drink) for 420 yen. The iced coffee had a good balance of acidity and bitterness, which I liked. The Ham and Egg sandwich was a hot sandwich with roast ham and egg salad inside, crispy on the outside and filled with plenty of ingredients inside. It was delicious! This place was also popular, with a line of customers both inside and outside the shop.

December 29th was the last day of work for me. I had a business trip to Yamanashi, but the Central Line Limited Express I tried to board was unexpectedly full and I couldn't get a reserved seat. I finally secured a reserved seat on the train an hour earlier. I realized it had been decades since I last rode a Limited Express during the year-end rush. I had some time before departure, so I visited this coffee stand inside Shinjuku Station near the Central East Exit ticket gate. It's a coffee stand operated by JR, located straight ahead after entering the gate. I bought a blend coffee for 250 yen in the crowded store and stood at the counter to drink it. The coffee was average, but the warmth was appreciated. The free Wi-Fi speed was decent for checking information online, with a download speed of 70Mbps and an upload speed of 17Mbps, although the asymmetry was noticeable. However, there was no time to relax and the atmosphere was not conducive to it. I boarded the Limited Express with my half-finished cup. This shop provides disposable cups for both in-store and takeaway use, which was convenient in this situation. As expected, the Limited Express I boarded was fully packed. I spent the one-hour journey to Otsuki with another customer sitting next to me, which was a rare experience. Finding a lunch spot on this day was also quite challenging. Serving the palace and year-end business trips are both tasks that are not to be taken lightly.

I took the Azusa limited express train from Shinjuku for the first time in a while. Going to Nagano, the Hokuriku Shinkansen is faster and more convenient, but this time I took the Matsumoto route. I usually drive to Matsumoto, but this time I decided to take the Azusa limited express. It takes about 2 and a half hours from Shinjuku. The early morning Shinjuku station is not as lively as Tokyo station. The only place open at the central ticket gate was Beck's Coffee. I bought a coffee because I needed it. The forecast for Minami-Otari was snow. The driver seemed tired, so I realized it must be cold where we are going. Tokyo was rainy. The sandwich I bought from Beck's Coffee was an egg sandwich, ham is not my favorite. I wish they had more options. I wish they had a vegetable sandwich. The egg sandwich was delicious though. Beck's Coffee suits long-distance train rides. They didn't have the Shinjuku blend, but they had the Tokyo blend. It would be nice if they had a Station blend too. Let's travel freely.

Due to a personal accident causing a delay in the train, I decided to stop by a cafe to pass the time since I was feeling a bit hungry. The seating was well separated, and I enjoyed a delicious BLT sandwich and dark roast coffee. I was satisfied with my meal. The only thing that slightly bothered me was the pile of returned items in the self-cleaning area.

The hot Americano is 250 yen, which is too cheap haha. I thought it wouldn't taste good because it's so cheap, but when I tried it, it wasn't that bad. It's like a regular convenience store quality, and there are seats available, so I'm satisfied. It's just right for a quick stop.

I had the Morning Set for 450 yen at "BECK'S COFFEE SHOP" in Shinjuku. It is a cafe located inside the JR station, which gives it an advantage in terms of location. I ordered the Bacon Potato Panini and iced coffee. The Panini was warm but a bit flat. The potato salad portion was small. The coffee was an Americano with mild bitterness. The interior of the shop is cramped, with the counter seats being quite tight. I might prefer the Doutor cafe that I usually go to.

The station is not too crowded and people don't stay long, which creates a calm and comfortable atmosphere that doesn't feel like Shinjuku East Exit at all. I had a teriyaki chicken sandwich and coffee to satisfy my hunger. The prices are reasonable and the sandwiches are quite good. Among cafe chains, they have a good selection of food, especially sandwiches. I would like to use it again.

The JR Shinjuku Station, which has been under construction for a long time, has finally opened a free passage that allows you to pass through from the west exit to the east exit. It's convenient, spacious, and comfortable! Excellent!! Although it is currently just a simple passage, I am looking forward to seeing if shops will be opening in the future. For now, the closest cafe to the station is Beck's Coffee Shop. It's inside the ticket gate and operated by JR East Japan, making it the best choice. On this day, I was very thirsty and drank the iced coffee (250 yen) in one gulp. I was so thirsty that I drank half of it before taking a picture (laughs). After taking a break, I looked around the shop and saw that it was full of customers and the distance between seats was close. However, acrylic panels were installed, and coffee shops like this are mostly used by individuals, so there are no noisy talkative people. Nevertheless, there is no need to stay long, so I enjoyed my coffee and left. Thank you for the meal.

This is a coffee stand run by JR East Japan Foods located in front of the JR Shinjuku Station Central East Exit ticket gate. I stopped by as I had some time to spare before catching the limited express train for my business trip to Yamanashi. Usually, I use the Doutor coffee shop inside the South Exit ticket gate for time management inside the station, so this was my first time visiting here. I visited around 9 am and purchased an iced coffee (S size) for 250 yen for consumption inside the store. I drank it at the counter seats, which were separated by transparent partitions. I have never been able to find a seat at Doutor, so I was grateful to easily find a seat here. While I feel that Doutor's coffee tastes better, if you plan to stay for more than 10 minutes, this place might be a better option.

I wanted to feel refreshed, so I decided to drink a carbonated drink and the melon soda caught my eye on the menu. It quenched my thirst and allowed me to take a breather. I still had other things I wanted to buy, so taking a break was important. I enjoyed it.

JR Shinjuku Station's smoking area inside the ticket gate. It seems like the only place. The Doutor at the south exit also seems to have become non-smoking. I'm not familiar with the area around the new south exit, but you can smoke inside the ticket gate of JR Shinjuku Station. For me, the value of using it comes down to that one point. But I think other customers feel the same way. They quickly smoke, finish their coffee, and leave. There are standing booths for electronic cigarettes and smoking booths for regular cigarettes. "Milk Frozen Uji Matcha (S)" (580 yen) - As shown in the photo. I forgot the exact name of the product, but I wrote it as printed on the receipt. The milk frozen is topped with whipped cream and sprinkled with matcha powder. Inside, there was something like matcha jelly. I thought it would be super sweet, but it's not that sweet. I was slightly disappointed because I was mentally prepared to accept sweet things, but it's delicious. It also gives a nice cool feeling. It felt like eating a home run bar while drinking matcha. (laughs) Well, not really. Thank you for the meal. (By Kyonatsu Shuusora, 2020.7.31) (53 reviews, average rating 3.15)

The advantage of this shop is that it is located in the station building. Furthermore, there are power outlets available, making it possible to work. As for the food and cafe, it is similar to other BECK shops, providing a convenient space where you can charge your devices and work. You can stop by here, enjoy delicious pasta and coffee while working.

This is a review of BECK'S located in the JR Shinjuku Station Ekimae. It's been a while since my visit, as Shinjuku Station keeps changing and can be confusing for those not familiar with it. This time, I needed a break for various reasons, and BECK'S was a very welcome place to rest. Despite it being winter, I ordered an iced coffee to recharge. At that time, the shop still had a smoking area, which was quite crowded with smokers. I wonder how it is now. I appreciate being able to take a breather there. Thank you very much.

On the weekend, I went to Kinugawa on the Spacia Kinugawa train from Shinjuku. I arrived a little early and grabbed a late breakfast at Beck's Coffee inside the station. I enjoyed my coffee at the counter seat, which had outlets, free Wi-Fi, and even a smoking room for smokers. I ordered the Shrimp Cutlet & Egg Sandwich (420 yen) and a Blend coffee (S/250 yen). The sandwich was surprisingly filling with lots of ingredients, but the bread was a bit dry. It might be a good idea to check the production time before purchasing sandwiches.
