Seitaki Ueno 2nd store
On a weekday past 9 pm, with no particular destination in mind, we were wandering around Ueno to Okachimachi and decided to enter a random restaurant just because we wanted to start drinking quickly. It turned out to be a good choice. It was hot and our throats were dry, so we started with a toast of beer. The beer was delicious, so we quickly finished it and ordered more. For snacks, we ordered "Myoga Sakamushi" (pickled ginger with sake lees), "Choi Toro" (medium fatty tuna), and "Tonpei-yaki" (pork and bean sprout omelette). The Myoga Sakamushi was a simple yet tasty dish. The Choi Toro was a generous serving of fresh tuna, which I personally prefer over farmed bluefin tuna. The Tonpei-yaki was a flavorful dish with plenty of pork and bean sprouts wrapped in an omelette, seasoned with a strong pepper taste, perfect for drinking. We also ordered Buttered Corn and Dakgalbi-style Chicken as additional dishes. The Dakgalbi-style Chicken was delicious, although it's more of a Dakgalbi-inspired dish rather than authentic Dakgalbi. The Buttered Corn, on the other hand, was too salty and flavorful, so we couldn't finish it. For the finishing touch, we had Neapolitan pasta and pressed sardine sushi. The sardine was fresh and tasty, and the Neapolitan pasta had a mild yet flavorful taste with plenty of powdered cheese and a hint of Tabasco, making it a satisfying dish that makes you crave rice. The total bill for 6 beers, 2 green tea highballs, 1 plum wine, and the various dishes we ordered came out to around 6,000 yen, which was quite reasonable. Overall, the restaurant didn't have a fancy menu, but it was a good, reliable izakaya with delicious food. We were very satisfied and will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.
