Ignoring the free stay situation, I found myself staying at a nearby hotel for the night. After checking in, I headed to the restaurant ONIGIRI KITCHEN HATAGO on the first floor. I was there for their late-night soba noodles served from 9:30 pm to 11:00 pm. It's amazing that they offer free ramen as a special accommodation for guests. I received a ticket at the kitchen counter and waited for my number to be called at an available table. Within a few minutes, I was called and received my ramen. It was a simple soy sauce-based broth made from chicken bones, very light and refreshing. The noodles were thin and curly, perfect for soaking up the broth. Toppings included seaweed, bamboo shoots, and chopped green onions. Since it was a complimentary late-night snack, they served a half portion, but you could ask for seconds if you wanted more. They were also willing to adjust the toppings according to your preference. They recommended against getting a large portion, instead suggesting to have seconds if needed. Eating the ramen and then being able to sleep right away was like a dream come true.

When climbing up to Edo, this place "Dormy Inn Ueno Okachimachi" serves free night soba noodles after 9 pm. This service is offered at all Dormy Inn hotels nationwide. They also provide a new take-out service where you can bring the food back to your room, which is great for those who are cautious during the pandemic. I personally prefer to eat in the dining area. You receive a numbered ticket at the kitchen counter, and your order is ready when your number is called. I always ask for extra bamboo shoots and seaweed, making it truly special! ◆In late February 2020, I visited this hotel for the first time, located right near Ameyoko with a great location. I stayed at a great price with breakfast included. I became a fan during this stay! "Dormy Inn Ueno Okachimachi" is a business hotel with locations nationwide, each with its own unique features. This one has a bath called "Kachi no Yu" on the top floor, where you can enjoy a sauna and open-air bath. Plus, they offer free "night soba" after drinking, which is a nice touch. After taking a morning bath, I headed to breakfast where they served oden! They have a rice ball and small dish buffet, and the staff even pours miso soup with clams for you. The soup bowls are big, the variety of small dishes is great, and the handmade rice balls are delicious. It seems like the breakfast menu varies depending on the location, so I look forward to encountering new days on my travels. On this day, I visited Yasukuni Shrine from the downtown Yanaka and Nezu area. With a full stomach, I was ready to go, thank you for the delicious meal! Great experience!

In January 2020, I stayed overnight in Tokyo for 1 night. After having curry at Delhi Ueno restaurant, I bought some chu-hi from a convenience store and returned to my accommodation at Dormy Inn Ueno around 10 pm. I had checked in around 4 pm, took a bath, rested, and then went to a concert before returning. The hotel is located a 3-minute walk from JR Okachimachi Station along Showa Street, close to Ameyoko, with many dining options nearby. The front desk is on the 2nd floor, with a seaweed shop on the 1st floor. There is a convenience store next door, making shopping convenient. The hotel is slightly smaller, possibly due to the location. The room, a semi-double, felt a bit smaller than other Dormy Inns, but it had a door between the bedroom and the front room, with the same calming interior color scheme as other Dormy Inns. The large communal bath is on the 12th floor, called Toshino-yu, offering a bath with ultra-soft water, sauna, and cold water bath to relax. The next day, I took an early morning bath and headed to the 2nd-floor restaurant Hatago for breakfast starting at 6:30 am. The breakfast was a semi-buffet focusing on onigiri, with slightly fewer options than a typical Dormy Inn buffet but featuring a hearty miso soup and oden. After breakfast, I went straight to work, concluding this tour.

November 2018. After finishing work, I arrived in Ueno around 9:30 PM. This time, I chose a room-only plan at Dormy Inn. (It's a single room, so it cost around 11,000 yen on the weekend.) First, I checked in at the front desk on the 2nd floor. Before heading to my room, I stopped by the restaurant "HATAGO" in front of the front desk to have Dormy Inn's classic late-night soba. The gentle soy sauce flavor with curly noodles topped with seaweed, bamboo shoots, and green onions was simple but delicious. (※Guests can enjoy it for free.) Thank you for the meal!

Hotels in Tokyo are becoming extremely expensive. If they go up any more, I'll have to look for cheaper hotels. I hope this isn't the last time, but since I'm already here, I'll have the nightingale soba.

This inn, called Dormy Inn Ueno Okachimachi, is located right in the middle between JR Ueno Station and Okachimachi Station, right next to Ameyoko, and has excellent access along National Route 4, making it a very convenient place to stay when visiting Tokyo! While luxury hotels may be nice, they can be unnecessarily large and expensive, so unless there's a special occasion, I prefer not to use them. What I really appreciate about Dormy Inn hotels is that they always have a big communal bath and breakfast available. This particular inn is smaller compared to others due to its location, but it still has a compact yet satisfying communal bath with an outdoor bath and sauna. And when it comes to breakfast, Dormy Inn is known for its wide variety of well-prepared dishes using local ingredients, but this inn is a bit different as they focus on rice balls for breakfast, offering various flavors to enjoy. Additionally, to add more impact, they serve miso soup with luxurious ingredients like crab soup or hearty pork miso soup, making breakfast an interesting and satisfying experience every time. Overall, I highly recommend this inn when visiting Tokyo, but please note that it has become so popular recently that it's hard to make a reservation...

June 2017. Last day in Tokyo. Woke up at 6:00 am at Dormy Inn Ueno-Okachimachi. I had to catch an early Shinkansen to the north Kanto region, so I woke up early and had breakfast at 7:00 am. The breakfast venue was 'HATAGO' in front of the front desk (same as the night soba venue). Breakfast included various types of onigiri, daily soup (that day was miso soup), small dishes, and more. It was nice to have onigiri available. I got Hakata mentaiko and Kishu plum onigiri. I quickly finished the miso soup and felt comforted. Thank you for the meal! Dormy Inn may not have luxurious services, but their hospitality is nice. Although it may be a bit more expensive compared to other Dormy Inns due to its location in Tokyo, I was very satisfied. It's not like a five-star hotel that starts with top-notch facilities and deducts points for shortcomings, but rather a standard accommodation that adds points for service and increases its rating. I like this type of hotel. Thank you for the short stay.

In June 2017, I finished work and arrived in Tokyo by Shinkansen. I met up with a friend in Ueno, so I decided to stay in Ueno as my base for this trip. I arrived at the hotel around 9 pm and checked in at the front desk on the 2nd floor. My room was on the 4th floor, which was a bit small but had good facilities, including a semi-double bed and a bathtub. I met up with my friend around 10 pm at a nearby izakaya after trying the night soba at the hotel's dining area, "HATAGO." The night soba had a gentle soy sauce flavor with curly noodles, topped with seaweed, bamboo shoots, and green onions. It was complimentary for hotel guests and just the right amount for a light snack. After dinner at a nearby izakaya, I returned to the hotel for some hot spring time. The hotel had a rooftop onsen with an outdoor bath, sauna, and cold bath, which was a great way to relax. Now, I'm off to bed early to prepare for a day of exploring and eating tomorrow. Goodnight!

This is my third time staying at Dormy Inn this year. I love the calming atmosphere and the excellent services. I always enjoy the night soba noodles and a drink, usually a highball. For breakfast, I had the limited edition crab and salmon roe rice bowl - such a luxurious start to the day! I also tried the rice balls and side dishes. The smoothies were a nice touch too. I will definitely be coming back to Dormy Inn again.

Breakfast buffet. Today, it's all about the salmon roe bowl! It feels like going back to New Year's. I worked throughout the New Year this year, so I feel like I'm experiencing a New Year's hangover. I guess taking long vacations a few times a year is necessary after all. Time for a relaxing bath! I'm all set with plenty of souvenirs (homemade) this time too. By the way, I always thought that salmon roe was the same size since I was a kid, but I recently discovered that there are smaller grains too. Turns out, those are trout roe, not salmon roe. I was surprised to see trout roe at a reasonable price in a store recently. It's delicious, so no problem.

I stayed here once again. Last night, I enjoyed the night-time ramen, and this morning I had a luxurious breakfast included. No matter how many times I come, I always enjoy it. Thank you always.

This time, I stayed for 2 nights on a business trip at a hotel near the station without eating the night soba. The equipment was of Dormy Inn quality, with a large bath including indoor and outdoor baths. It was compact but comfortable. There are convenience stores and various dining options just a few seconds away on foot.

Accommodation with breakfast included. This morning, the main dish was oden.

Breakfast: The breakfast at this restaurant was delicious and satisfying. The portion sizes were generous and the food was flavorful. I would definitely recommend trying the breakfast here.
