You can only take out, but you can eat authentic Khao Man Gai at a low price! They put a decent amount of cilantro and the portion of rice is quite generous. You can choose from 2 types of sauce, but if you choose ginger, you can also eat it like Hainanese chicken rice, killing two birds with one stone! It's recommended for when you want to eat something close to the authentic taste, not fake Thai food! It's quite authentic, so the smell is quite strong, so be a little careful when eating in a small office or similar place. *For me, it's a very good smell, but just in case you know* It's not in the photo, but there's a cute bird drawing on the lid! I hope the papaya salad will also make a comeback〜

After eating Kanda curry for the first time in a while and then having Thai food, I couldn't go home empty-handed. I needed to buy some evening snacks. I discovered a takeout-only shop specializing in Khao Man Gai on Tabelog. Khao Man Gai is a Thai chicken rice dish, right? I saw a salad version on the menu, which seemed perfect for snacks. When I arrived at the shop, I was surprised to see only women lining up, all of them beautiful. It seems like people who buy lunch at this kind of shop have a different mindset. I decided to wait in line. Finally, it was my turn. I asked for a salad Khao Man Gai, but they said they were out of it due to preparing the vegetables. I had to wait for about 5 minutes. I chose the version with cilantro and two sauces (basic and special black vinegar). It was ready in about 5 minutes. The salad Khao Man Gai had a generous amount of vegetables and chicken, with penne pasta and a delicious combination of the basic sauce and tangy special black vinegar. It was tasty, but the portion was so big that I couldn't finish it in one day, so I had to save some for the next day. It was healthy, delicious, and great value for money. Since it's a Kanda branch, I wonder if they have other options. I'll definitely buy it again.

Takeout-only Kaomangai restaurant where you can choose from two types of sauces. They also offer a vegetable Kaomangai without rice, which is diet-friendly. It seems like there is an additional charge for soup, but it can't be helped. It's a bit pricey to upgrade to a double portion, so it's not easy to order it often. LOL.

The older brother is skillfully cutting and serving alone. I don't have it every day, but I have Kaomangai once a week, so he remembered it well haha. I always double the chicken, but today I added fried chicken. I can hear the sound of frying from the kitchen, and it's done quickly so there's hardly any waiting. I choose two types of sauce, always ginger and then another one, today it's sweet chili sauce. There are about 6 types to choose from, right? You can add toppings like coriander, fried egg, etc., so let's create your favorite Kaomangai! It's fun. As for the taste, the rice is long and slender, like Thai rice. The chicken rice with this rice is really delicious. The texture is good with a nice bite, and it's coated with oil, giving it a smooth and pleasant texture. On top are two pieces of thigh meat! So happy! And today, one of them is fried! The roughly torn coriander is a nice accent. Today, there's macaroni as a side dish! It used to be pickled vegetables for a while. It's satisfying! You can also make it into a salad without rice. You can also get a half portion, and there are various ways to customize it, so there are many women in line. I always appreciate it. It's delicious, so I'll continue to rely on it in the future! Namaste!

At Kanda Station, during the lunchtime peak, all the restaurants I had in mind had long lines, so I thought about getting takeout. However, on my way to the station, I came across this eye-catching pink shop that couldn't be missed. It reminded me of the pink Kaomangai in Bangkok. I ordered the Kaomangai for 780 yen and added a double portion of chicken for 280 yen. You can choose from 8 different sauces, and I chose the basic and special sweet chili sauces. The pink paper bag made me a little embarrassed to carry it around or take it on the train, but I took it home. When I opened the foam container, I was surprised by the generous portion. The double chicken was accompanied by plenty of rice sprinkled with cilantro. The chicken, cooked in chicken broth, and the jasmine rice were a perfect match. The sauces, while decent, could have been a bit more flavorful, especially for those who like cilantro. I managed to finish it all, but I felt like I could have used more sauce and cilantro. Next time, I'll probably add extra cilantro and sauce to my double chicken order.

Kanda Station West Exit Shopping Street, to the right of Unamasa and Marutoku Ticket, PANYA-SAN, which closed in October 2022, has been replaced by Maiichi Kaomangai. It is good news for those who were disappointed by the closure of Tokyo Kaomangai in front of the station, which became Kaomangai Los! The bright pink sign stands out in the narrow space. This is the second branch of Maiichi Kaomangai in Nishi-Shinjuku. Kaomangai is available starting from 780 yen. There are two types of chicken: regular Kaomangai and fried Kaomangai. You can also get a half and half option. The prices are as follows: Kaomangai - 780 yen, Fried Kaomangai - 850 yen, Half and Half Kaomangai - 900 yen, Salad Kaomangai - 780 yen, Salad Fried Kaomangai - 850 yen, Salad Half and Half Kaomangai - 900 yen. I purchased the Kaomangai (780 yen) with coriander and chose two sauces from the eight available options: Black Pepper and Tomato Chili. The Kaomangai was placed in a flashy pink paper bag. It was a sturdy paper bag, making it seem luxurious for just one bento box. It looks like it can be reused, but with this color, I might feel embarrassed to carry it around. When I opened the bento, it was filled with plenty of coriander and chicken. The chicken, cooked in chicken white broth, had a well-balanced flavor. I enjoyed it with the Black Pepper sauce and Tomato Chili sauce, changing the taste while eating.

I knew they could do it, but I didn't know when, so I missed the grand opening sale... But I still wanted to try it, so I went to buy it! I got one regular and one fried. The fried one was fried after I ordered it. Each meal comes with two types of sauce, so I asked for the original, ethnic, black pepper, and ginger sauce. When I opened it at home, it wasn't as filling as I expected, so if you like to eat a lot, you might want to add rice or meat. I tried all four sauces, and I liked the ethnic sauce with the regular Kaomangai and the ginger sauce with the fried one the best! There are a total of 8 sauces, and you can add one for 50 yen, so it's fun to find your favorite flavor. There are a lot of other restaurants around, so it must be tough, but I hope they do well!

Located about a 3-minute walk from Kanda Station West Exit, on Kanda Nishiguchi Street, is the takeout specialty store "Mainichi Kaomangai Kanda" which serves Kaomangai, a popular Thai street food. I visited for the first time during lunchtime in late October. This is a sister store to the Mainichi Kaomangai store in Nishi-Shinjuku. The Kanda branch opened in October. First, you place your order and make payment at the order counter. The menu offers three options: Kaomangai bento, Kaomangai fried bento, and a half-and-half bento which combines both. There are also options to replace rice with salad for a total of six menu items. On this day, I purchased the "Half & Half Kaomangai" (900 yen). The bento box features cute hand-drawn illustrations. You can choose two sauces from a selection of 8, so I chose homemade ginger and basic sauces. Once home, I enjoyed my meal. The rice in the "Half & Half Kaomangai" is cooked in chicken broth. Alongside the two types of Kaomangai are radish and carrot namasu, with cilantro garnish. I poured the two sauces generously over the meat. The rice had a rich aroma and flavor from the chicken broth, and the meat was tender and juicy, whether boiled or fried. Both sauces were delicious and complemented the dish well. I finished the meal in no time. Thank you for the delicious meal.

This is a newly opened takeout-only store. I was surprised by how speedy they were despite handling large orders! It's amazing. Both the steamed chicken and fried chicken are delicious! The variety of sauces is also impressive! The salads are filling and satisfying, not just the rice. The portions are generous, the food is delicious, and the service is quick - I am very satisfied!

Time has passed, and suddenly there is a Khao Man Gai takeout shop here. They are having an opening campaign where you can buy it for 500 yen, so I tried it twice. They draw illustrations on the containers, which is fun. I tried the Khao Man Gai Half & Half with a choice of basic sauce or homemade ginger sauce. Both were delicious. The basic sauce had two chili marks but wasn't too spicy. It may not be as filling as Jumpee, but the chicken and rice were quite tasty. I was hungry that day, so I chose rice, but they also offer a salad instead of rice, which is good for those who prefer a healthier option. The most basic Khao Man Gai with a choice of basic sauce or sweet chili sauce. The sweet chili sauce was also good. All the sauces seem to be delicious. It's a great deal for 500 yen, but in reality, it's around 900 yen, so it's okay, I guess? It's not bad, but if you want to eat the traditional Khao Man Gai, go to Jumpee, and if you want to try the fried chicken or salad version, then try this place.

【Grand Opening Sale】Half & Half 900 yen → 500 yen
The restaurant has received good reviews from my family, and I also received requests to bring back some more, so I decided to visit again during the grand opening sale period (until 10/21). Last time, I bought the regular Khao Man Gai and the fried version, but this time I decided to try the Half & Half. The Half & Half is a bit more expensive at 900 yen, but during the sale period, all items are available for a flat rate of 500 yen, which is the best deal. Well, I've already tried the steamed and fried versions, so there's nothing new, but I know they are reliably delicious.
You can choose two sauces for each Khao Man Gai, so since I bought four this time, I got to try all eight sauces. I bought them in the afternoon and had them for dinner. I heated up the cilantro separately and added it back before eating. It was fun to try out the different sauces while enjoying the meal.
However, the fried chicken may not have regained its texture properly when reheated in the microwave. The steamed chicken, on the other hand, was delicious. So, if there's a gap between buying and eating, it might be better to go for the regular Khao Man Gai. Overall, for 500 yen, I was quite satisfied with the experience.
I wonder how things will go after the grand opening sale ends. I hope they continue to do well.

The rice is very flavorful and delicious, and the meat is tender! This place opened in the location where a popular sandwich shop used to be. I thought it was because the popular chicken rice shop in front of the station closed down, but it turned out to be completely different. For the first 2 weeks of opening, all chicken rice dishes are only 500 yen each! So happy! They offer steamed chicken, fried chicken, and the option to have half rice and salad, which is great for those watching their carb intake. You can choose from 2 types of sauce, so even though it's a generous portion, I didn't get tired of eating it. The flashy pink sign and paper bag really boost the excitement. It's a takeout-only shop, so you'll get your order within 5 minutes of placing it. The meat is tender (although the portion might be a bit small?), and the rice is flavorful jasmine rice. The most expensive dish at 900 yen made me hesitate a bit, but the staff and the taste are both very good, so I'm thinking of going back to try a slightly cheaper option next time. I'm so full!

【Special Opening Price】Khao Man Gai 780 yen → 500 yenFried Khao Man Gai 850 yen → 500 yenDuring the special opening period from 10/11 to 10/21, all types of Khao Man Gai are available for 500 yen each! I found a shop in the middle of the Kanda Nishiguchi Shotengai, where a sandwich shop used to be. It seems to be a takeout-only shop. When I arrived at the shop, there were a few people in line, but soon it was my turn to order. I ordered the standard "Khao Man Gai" and the intriguing "Fried Khao Man Gai". Since they were 500 yen each, I couldn't resist and ended up buying two (^_^;) When ordering, they first asked if I wanted cilantro or not. I love cilantro, so I chose to have it in my order. They also mentioned that two types of sauce come with each Khao Man Gai, so I chose Black Pepper, Basic, Sweet Chili, and Ginger from the 8 available sauces. After paying, I received a number tag and waited for a bit. Soon, I was able to pick up my orders (^^) The cute pink paper bag caught my attention. When I took out the takeout pack, I saw a lovely hand-drawn illustration (*^^*) It was nice! I decided to try the "Fried" first since it was still warm. Wow, there was quite a generous amount of cilantro! The fried chicken was well-seasoned and had a nice tender texture. The flavor was rich but not overwhelming. The rice was jasmine rice cooked in chicken soup. It had a nice subtle flavor. The sauces were not necessary, but I decided to try them anyway. Personally, I liked the Sweet Chili sauce the most (^^)v The "Fried" dish was much tastier than I expected, so I decided to share the other Khao Man Gai with my family (^o^) Surprisingly, the kids enjoyed the cilantro and happily ate it, so I ended up with just a taste. They asked me to buy more next time, so I might visit again during the special opening sale period! I was disappointed when the Tokyo Khao Man Gai in front of Kanda Station closed down, but the opening of this new Khao Man Gai shop brought me joy (^o^) I wonder what will happen after the opening special period... I'll be keeping an eye on their future developments (^^ゞ
