Individual dishes served in private rooms. A 6-course meal for 2,200 yen is reasonable. This time, we had the 7-course meal with sashimi for 2,500 yen and it was satisfying. I had made a reservation the day before, informing them of my dislikes. The man who answered the phone was very pleasant, raising our expectations. The restaurant opens at 11:30 am, and we arrived at 12 pm as per our reservation. There are parking spaces for 3 cars next to the entrance and more at the back. We were seated in a private room as we had reserved in advance. We had also pre-ordered our menu, so everything went smoothly. The lunch menu offers 6 courses for 2,200 yen, 7 courses for 2,500 yen, 8 courses for 3,700 yen, and so on. My companions ordered the 6-course meal, while I opted for the 7-course meal with sashimi for an additional 300 yen. The first dish arrived promptly: 1. Appetizer: Potato Hina-manju (cute potato dumplings) - the butter melted gently, complementing the potatoes well. The top had a slight char, and there were shiitake mushrooms inside. A lovely appetizer. 2. Soup: Wakatake Soup - a clear broth with seaweed, bamboo shoots, and mitsuba. Surprisingly generous portions and delicious. 3. Sashimi: Flounder, Scallop, Rainbow Trout - adding sashimi for 300 yen was a great choice. The thick flounder was firm and sweet, the rainbow trout was light and fresh, and the scallop, while slightly overshadowed by the other two, was still of good quality. Highly recommended. 4. Fried dish: Crab and Potato Croquette - served in a cherry blossom-shaped container, the croquettes were hot and the soy-based sauce was slightly rich. The crab croquette had a chewy texture and a sweet taste that paired well with the soy sauce. The crispy rice crackers on top added a nice texture. With two pieces, it was quite filling. 5. Cod and Warm Vegetables with White Miso - the presentation was interesting, and the white miso was delicious. The cod was light, and the white miso added a perfect touch of flavor. 6. Green Soybean Rice, Miso Soup, and Smoked Herring - the rice was flavorful with sweet green soybeans, and the miso soup was light, complementing the rice well. The smoked herring pickle was a great addition. 7. Dessert: Haskap Sorbet - a rich and tangy sorbet that refreshed the palate. Overall, the dishes were well-seasoned. Enjoying each dish individually in a private room, with lunch starting at 2,200 yen, makes this a reasonably priced restaurant. The staff's warm and welcoming service made the experience even better!
