Tuna and avocado tororo donburi for 820 yen + drink set for 250 yen (excluding tax) (hot blend coffee). Total including tax is 1,177 yen. It is located on the first floor of Marui in Ueno, towards the back. The interior is along the aisle and the partitions are low, making it well-ventilated. It feels safe to dine here at this time of year. You can see outside through the large windows. There are many retro cafes in Ueno, but surprisingly, there are few stylish cafes like this one. It is bright, clean, and has a natural feel, making it very comfortable. First, order and pay at the register. The lunch set prices are a bit reasonable, but the basic price is 1,070 yen or 1,170 yen excluding tax. Depending on the dessert you choose, it can be an additional 100 yen or 200 yen. Honestly, it doesn't seem that cheap. The main meal menu selected was the natural tuna, which is normally 1,000 yen. There are many places around Ueno where you can eat fresh seafood bowls for a much cheaper price, so is it worth it to eat it here?...but I really wanted to eat this. When you have this as a lunch set, it costs 1,170 yen + tax, totaling 1,287 yen. Additionally, the shiratama zenzai that comes with the set, which I don't like because of the sweet bean paste, can be changed to warabi mochi for an extra 100 yen. The total including tax is 1,397 yen...which is a bit high. It's true that a single menu item normally priced at 1,000 yen with a drink and dessert included for 1,270 yen seems like a good deal, but it's still expensive and the price doesn't change even if you order less rice. In the end, I noticed there is a small size bowl available for 250 yen more, so I added a drink set. But it's still not cheap at all. Maybe I chose the wrong items? Feeling a bit frustrated, I paid and received a number tag to be seated. Water, wet towels, and chopsticks are prepared on the shelf in the center. I got ready and waited. A staff member brought the tray to me. They served the bowl with sauce on the side, which you pour over the dish. I poured quite a lot. When I tried it, it was delicious! It was a well-thought-out, stylish cafe meal. The rice is a blend of brown rice and domestic rice, which seems good for the body. The miso soup was also delicious. Because it was a weekday lunch in Ueno, it felt a bit expensive, but if I had eaten this in another area, it might not have bothered me as much. The atmosphere was nice, and the food was surprisingly delicious, so I felt good and enjoyed my coffee while relaxing until the time was up. But I should have ordered tea here. Next time, I will go for the chicken soboro donburi small size for 620 yen + drink set (hot Uji green tea) for 250 yen, totaling 957 yen including tax. Let's go for that next time!
