I finished work around 18:30 and was able to enter without waiting. I had the limited-time pumpkin Mont Blanc parfait and Japanese red tea. The crunchy cookie on top, along with the pumpkin, ice cream, and hojicha jelly, were all delicious! I often get tired of parfaits towards the end, but after enjoying the matcha parfait at Nanaha Green Tea until the last bite, I had high expectations for the pumpkin parfait this time. As expected, it was incredibly delicious and I was very satisfied!

I visited the Nanaz Green Tea (Ueno Marui store) just now, after having a disappointing and average-tasting ramen at the Duck and Onion restaurant. I wanted to try the Matcha Shiratama Parfait, which costs ¥1,000 (tax included). Personally, I prefer the one from Tsujiri in Kyoto, but this one from Nanaz Green Tea was also delicious. And at ¥1,000 including tax, it's a great value! I often go to the Urawa PARCO store, so I will definitely feel comfortable eating there next time. Thank you for the meal! Nana's Green Tea in Marui Ueno is a place I really like, and I occasionally visit other branches as well. I usually only order matcha drinks, but this time I tried their lunch menu. [Order] - Pork and Yuzu Pepper Udon - Tuna and Avocado Bowl - Matcha Latte - Hojicha Latte The Matcha Latte and Hojicha Latte were both amazing, as always! They are my favorite among all the tea lattes I've tried. The Pork and Yuzu Pepper Udon had a healthy and delicious taste. The meat was also well-prepared, which was great. It might be perfect for a hangover cure... haha The Tuna Bowl with grated yam was a perfect combination and tasted amazing! I will definitely visit again.

I had some business in Ueno, but ended up not liking the treatment plan there, so I ended up rescheduling at the clinic in Shibuya that I used to go to. I didn't really want to go back to Shibuya, but oh well! I had originally planned to go to a lunch spot, but the shutter was half open. At first, I thought maybe it was too early, but even when I passed by on my way back home, it was still the same. Maybe they're closing down? The next day was my last day at work, followed by a trip the day after, and I was planning to buy some socks, so I decided to go to Marui. I noticed they had a place called "Wakuriya" there, and I was thinking of having a meal and then maybe stopping by for something sweet, but I ended up just having lunch there. The restaurant is located on the first floor, and you can see inside as you pass by. It's not really a full restaurant, more like a partially enclosed space. I had a strong impression of the dessert "Nana's Green Tea," but they also had udon and rice bowls. I decided to have a bowl with my favorite ingredients - tuna, avocado, and grated yam. They also had sets that came with a mini dessert or a drink, but I opted for ordering a single item since I had other plans afterwards. I ordered at the counter, got a number tag, paid, found a seat, and waited for my order to be brought to me. The system was efficient. I got the bowl with about 4 pieces of tuna, which were quite large and a bit hard to eat. I had just recently talked with a friend who moved to the US about how avocado and rice don't really go well together, but with the grated yam, it was okay. The tuna wasn't that great, so I left some rice and moved on to the next place. I wanted to have matcha soft serve, but they didn't have it, so I ordered a matcha fromage glass instead. It had creamy matcha ice cream on top of a soft cream layer, with white dumplings, and a cheese biscuit on top. The biscuit was really tasty, the dumplings were chewy, and the cream was vanilla-flavored with a starchy texture. It was filling and satisfying. The menu had a good variety, and it was a casual and easy place to grab a quick bite. The prices might be a bit high for some, but for me, the dessert made up for it.

Size: The parfait was just right for sharing between two adults. Taste: The parfait was delicious overall. The matcha chocolate was particularly smooth and tasty. The hojicha latte was a bit too sweet for my liking... I wish I could adjust the sweetness myself.

I went shopping and got thirsty, so I came here. It's a nice autumn day and I felt like drinking an ice-cold matcha. I saw a menu item called "Matcha with White Tapioca Pearls" and ordered it. My boyfriend got a warm roasted green tea. There were more white tapioca pearls than I expected, but it was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I had pork miso udon with yuzu pepper and cold-brewed green tea, along with warabi mochi. When I was in junior high school, I used to go to Nanaz Green Tea in Jiyugaoka quite often, but I haven't had the chance to go recently, so it was nostalgic to visit again. Back then, I used to enjoy drinks like matcha soft serve latte, but lately I've come to appreciate the pure taste of green tea the most. The lingering aroma of matcha in the aftertaste is delightful. The udon was also delicious with a mild flavor.

Ume Tororo Konbu Udon - Hot - 900 yen After lunch, I'm thinking of buying some baked sweet potatoes to take home. I've been curious about this place on the 1st floor of Ueno Marui for a while, so I'll have lunch here. I arrived at 11:45 am, with 2 customers already seated and 2 more coming in after me. Payment is made in advance, and electronic money is not accepted. I had already decided on the Ume Tororo Konbu Udon before entering the store, as I had passed by it several times before. I ordered the hot version, as you can choose between hot and cold. I was served in about 4 minutes after being seated. The appearance of the udon is quite plain, with ingredients such as green onions, tororo konbu, wakame, and umeboshi. The broth has a strong tororo flavor, almost like drinking konbu tea. The udon is chewy and has a nice firm texture, making it enjoyable to eat. I love tororo, and it has just the right amount of sliminess. Eating it with the udon is simply the best. I wasn't expecting much from the Ume Tororo Konbu Udon, but I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. I wasn't sure when to eat the umeboshi, so I had it as a palate cleanser after finishing the udon. It has a strong acidity, so mixing it with the broth is like drinking umeboshi tea. I finished my meal and left the store. Now, let's go buy some baked sweet potatoes. It was delicious! Used for lunch on February 28, 2022. Rating: 3.05

The seating capacity is small, so it's good for going alone. The matcha ice cream and shiratama with matcha cream, cream cheese, and matcha jelly combine Japanese and Western flavors. The matcha and cream cheese combination was delicious. They offer takeout and Uber Eats.

Located on the 1st floor of Marui in Ueno, this café offers a variety of sweets such as "anmitsu" and parfaits using matcha, as well as meals like "donburi" and udon with a Japanese theme. I tried the stylish and delicious "Matcha Fromage Glass (880 yen)" this time, which combines matcha and cream cheese in a fusion of Japanese and Western flavors. It consisted of matcha ice cream, shiratama (rice flour dumplings), matcha cream, cream cheese, and matcha jelly. The combination of matcha and cream cheese was surprisingly delicious. This café on the 1st floor of Ueno Marui is a casual place to enjoy a meal or dessert.

I often stop by here because Ueno is convenient to get to. I meet up with friends for tea and on the way back, I stopped by and ordered a roasted green tea latte. It's delicious so I always end up ordering it, but maybe I should try something else occasionally. I'd like to try some desserts too. Thank you for the meal.

Hojicha brown tea is quite bitter when brewed with water, not sweet like matcha or hojicha latte. It might have been better as a latte. The cafe is quite crowded, probably because there aren't many cafes around.

Nana's Green Tea on the first floor of Ueno Marui. The access is excellent! It was around 1 pm on a weekday and about 90% of the people had already finished paying and received a number tag, so you can wait for your seat. I ordered the limited-time matcha souffle fondant (700 yen + tax) with vanilla ice cream on top. The matcha souffle was fluffy and when cut, matcha sauce came out! They only gave me a spoon and fork, so it was a bit difficult to cut without a knife. The matcha sauce was quite sweet and lukewarm, which was okay... The vanilla ice cream was rich, which was good! The cookies around it were crispy with a buttery aroma. It seems more like a place for sweets rather than a main meal, but it's convenient to drop by while exploring Ueno in Marui for a break.

My friend found a delicious matcha soft serve, so I decided to try it out too. There are only a few Nanaz stores that offer soft serve for takeout. I had a feeling it would be small, but I still had hope. When it arrived, the soft serve was indeed small, almost hidden by the cone. The taste was okay. It cost 400 yen. I will continue my search for new places to try.

Tuna and avocado tororo donburi for 820 yen + drink set for 250 yen (excluding tax) (hot blend coffee). Total including tax is 1,177 yen. It is located on the first floor of Marui in Ueno, towards the back. The interior is along the aisle and the partitions are low, making it well-ventilated. It feels safe to dine here at this time of year. You can see outside through the large windows. There are many retro cafes in Ueno, but surprisingly, there are few stylish cafes like this one. It is bright, clean, and has a natural feel, making it very comfortable. First, order and pay at the register. The lunch set prices are a bit reasonable, but the basic price is 1,070 yen or 1,170 yen excluding tax. Depending on the dessert you choose, it can be an additional 100 yen or 200 yen. Honestly, it doesn't seem that cheap. The main meal menu selected was the natural tuna, which is normally 1,000 yen. There are many places around Ueno where you can eat fresh seafood bowls for a much cheaper price, so is it worth it to eat it here?...but I really wanted to eat this. When you have this as a lunch set, it costs 1,170 yen + tax, totaling 1,287 yen. Additionally, the shiratama zenzai that comes with the set, which I don't like because of the sweet bean paste, can be changed to warabi mochi for an extra 100 yen. The total including tax is 1,397 yen...which is a bit high. It's true that a single menu item normally priced at 1,000 yen with a drink and dessert included for 1,270 yen seems like a good deal, but it's still expensive and the price doesn't change even if you order less rice. In the end, I noticed there is a small size bowl available for 250 yen more, so I added a drink set. But it's still not cheap at all. Maybe I chose the wrong items? Feeling a bit frustrated, I paid and received a number tag to be seated. Water, wet towels, and chopsticks are prepared on the shelf in the center. I got ready and waited. A staff member brought the tray to me. They served the bowl with sauce on the side, which you pour over the dish. I poured quite a lot. When I tried it, it was delicious! It was a well-thought-out, stylish cafe meal. The rice is a blend of brown rice and domestic rice, which seems good for the body. The miso soup was also delicious. Because it was a weekday lunch in Ueno, it felt a bit expensive, but if I had eaten this in another area, it might not have bothered me as much. The atmosphere was nice, and the food was surprisingly delicious, so I felt good and enjoyed my coffee while relaxing until the time was up. But I should have ordered tea here. Next time, I will go for the chicken soboro donburi small size for 620 yen + drink set (hot Uji green tea) for 250 yen, totaling 957 yen including tax. Let's go for that next time!

This is my favorite place to go when I want to eat matcha sweets. The matcha shiratama parfait I ordered this time had everything I wanted when craving Japanese sweets, and I was very satisfied. I want to go back again. Next time, I want to try their meal menu as well.

Easily Enjoy Matcha When you hear the word matcha, it may evoke a sense of history and make you feel a bit hesitant, but these days, participating in a tea ceremony has become less common. Holding the sweet in both hands, lifting it slightly, giving thanks to the gods, and then enjoying the sweet. "I humbly receive your tea ceremony." Bowing, lifting the tea bowl slightly, giving thanks to the gods, and avoiding drinking from the front to cherish the tea bowl... Here, you can enjoy matcha without the need to feel hesitant. It may also serve as an opportunity for foreign tourists to get to know Japanese matcha. The matcha comes with wasanbon sugar. We also ordered matcha chiffon cake and pumpkin cake, making it a complete cafe experience. The matcha seems to have less bitterness and is easy to drink, and it goes well with the cakes. Sometimes, instead of coffee, trying matcha and cake together might be a good idea.

On a regular night, after work, I feel like having some matcha sweets. I casually walk into this place on the 1st floor of Marui in Ueno. It's like a small food court at the back, with shops selling accessories and cosmetics lined up. It's quite an open layout. I order and pay at the register, get a number tag, and then wait at a seat for the staff to bring my order. The seating area is a bit narrow, but since it's a weekday dinner time, there are only a few customers. If you sit with your back to the aisle, the open layout won't bother you much. The matcha shiratama parfait costs 860 yen including tax. The parfait includes matcha ice cream, 3 shiratama (rice flour dumplings), sweet red bean paste, cornflakes, rich vanilla soft serve, matcha Bavarian cream, agar jelly, and matcha sauce. The cornflakes may seem a bit cheap, but the crunchy texture is nice. It's a bit difficult to scoop up the thick matcha at the bottom with a spoon. Drinking it directly from the glass feels a bit awkward. However, the matcha flavor is actually delicious. I wished they had provided a straw. This place is perfect for when you feel like having matcha parfait easily and casually.

I had some business with Marui-san, so I didn't have any plans to come here, but I was drawn in by the wide variety of matcha menu options at the entrance of the store! It was tea time, and there were a few seats available. I chose my favorite seat and placed my order at the counter before sitting down. I ordered a matcha soft serve latte. The drink was rich in matcha flavor and delicious! The majority of the customers in the store were young women.

On a regular weekday afternoon, I met up with a friend from another prefecture whom I hadn't seen in a while! Based on my friend's recommendation, who loves Japanese food, we decided to visit "Nana's Green Tea" for the first time! My friend ordered the "Ikura and Salmon Oyako Donburi" for 1060 yen, while I chose the "Taco Rice Donburi" in size small for 850 yen. We paid in advance, received a numbered flag, and chose our seats. Water was self-service, and the paper cups were cute. There were tables for 2 and 4 people, as well as counter seats. I found a power outlet in front of the counter, a valuable charging spot when going out...! Thank you for taking care of us. After a while, our orders were brought to us. The trays contained the donburi, along with sauce and soup on the side. The soup, in a white cup, had wheat gluten and trefoil. It looked somewhat Western but tasted like miso soup, comforting and warm. The Taco Rice was beautifully topped with fresh vegetables, minced meat sauce, and a runny soft-boiled egg on top! And underneath all that was piping hot rice. It seemed like a complete meal in one bowl, fulfilling both the desire for stamina and healthiness. I wondered if it was okay to mix it like aburasoba or if it was a taboo like curry rice (laughs). The spoon was large, so I scooped up the vegetables and sauce. The fresh crispness of the vegetables, the meatiness of the meat, and the balance without greasiness or heaviness were all great! Broccoli, lettuce, corn, cherry tomatoes, and that unique flavor... what was it called again (couldn't remember the name)? Parsley...? Anyway, I saved the egg for the latter part! Undoubtedly, the creamy white yolk was different from the egg white of a raw egg, with a refreshing taste that made me understand why it was called a soft-boiled egg. It separated the yolk and white individually, creating a vibrant color and a mild yet delicious taste...! The sauce had a sesame-like flavor, giving that extra kick when you wanted more, enhancing the appetite with its salty touch. It was a light type of sauce, so it felt refreshing. I enjoyed every last bite until the end! We had a leisurely time and enjoyed our conversation. When we left, the staff kindly said, "I'll take care of this, so please leave the tray as it is." Oh, how thoughtful. The meal menu had a discount of probably 180 yen for the small size. Even so, it was a substantial meal with soup included. They also offer sets with drinks and desserts for weekday lunches. Both lunch-goers and those who came for parfaits were there during my visit. It was mostly women. I had a delicious and wonderful time. Thank you for the meal!
