I passed by this shop in Shibuya many times, but decided to visit for lunch this day. It was just before 12 o'clock and I was able to sit at my favorite seat. I ordered the beef loin with grated yam. As I waited leisurely, more and more customers came in. It seems like the minced cutlet is popular for lunch. Soon, the food arrived. At the same time, the mini stove on the table was lit. I see, we're supposed to warm it up while eating. The dipping sauces included additional grated yam, curry, ponzu, sauce, salt, and wasabi. Personally, I wish there was soy sauce. Nevertheless, it was fun to grill and try different sauces one by one. I would be happy if the meat slices were a bit thicker. I enjoyed the meal. By the way, I forgot to ask for seconds of cabbage, rice, and miso soup. I felt like the bill was a bit high. These days, many menus show the prices including tax, but here the prices are shown without tax and the tax-included amount is written in small letters below. That's why everyone is ordering the minced cutlet, maybe.

During the daytime on a main street, the shop was empty. It is located underground, but the entrance and interior had a bright atmosphere and did not feel cramped. There are many types of dipping sauces and you can enjoy grilling your food, so you won't get bored. The summer limited eel dish was delicious!

The restaurant was near my company but I had never had the chance to visit until now. It has a large space underground. I ordered the combination of beef mince and beef cutlet, and while the cutlet was a bit lacking in juiciness, the mince was delicious! It's a good deal that you get free rice and miso soup if you register with LINE. Thank you for the meal!

I have been to other restaurants, but this one is delicious. It's consistent. I had the loin and tongue. The batter is crispy like a snack, and it's so delicious even without any sauce. But with so many sauces, I would try them all. Yeah, I like them all. It's a rare find to be able to eat delicious food with a sense of security. It's very satisfying. I think there would be a long line if it opened in my neighborhood. I was lucky to get in smoothly this time.

I went to Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu in Shibuya Dojunkan. The restaurant is located underground down a flight of stairs. They serve gyukatsu, which is beef cutlet cooked on a hot plate. The cutlet is served rare, so you can cook it to your liking. Some customers prefer to cook it more than rare. The taste was average. Thank you for the meal.

I entered the restaurant right after it opened on a regular day. This time is not crowded, so it's a relaxing place to be. I was debating between going to a famous beef cutlet restaurant in Shibuya and this one, but I heard that the other place only had a small counter and it was narrow. I thought it would be better to come here where I can sit and relax. I ordered a set meal with both beef sirloin cutlet and minced cutlet for 1199 yen. It seems that you can grill them on the hot stone stove, but you can also eat them without grilling. It comes with three different dipping sauces: wasabi soy sauce, regular cutlet sauce, curry-flavored sauce, and also yuzu pepper salt, so you won't get tired of the flavors. The meat was tender and delicious, and the price was reasonable, so I had a great lunch.

I visited with my colleagues for lunch! We arrived around 12:30, and although there were only a few customers at first, by the time we left around 1:00, the place was almost full. Timing is key during lunchtime. The beef cutlet, once a popular dish, seems to have lost its popularity recently. However, the taste of the beef cutlet remains unchanged and delicious! It's great that there are various seasonings to choose from, including the classic sauce, salt, wasabi, and curry. While not exceptional, the flavors are satisfying. They also offer menchi-katsu, adding more variety to the taste experience. Being able to adjust the level of doneness yourself is a nice touch! Personally, I enjoy reheating my food quite a bit. There were several lunch menu options, so I look forward to trying something different next time! Thank you for the meal!

I have a memory of eating at a different store many years ago, but I found this place in Shibuya and decided to try it out. I ordered the lunch special of beef sirloin cutlet and minced cutlet set (1199 yen). It felt a bit pricey for a chain restaurant lunch. The cutlets served were small, but the joy of eating them grilled on a hot plate was unique. There was a variety of sauces available, and different ways to enjoy them. I felt that this was a different type of food from the usual "tonkatsu set". The tender meat was a delight to savor on my tongue. The rice was so good that I couldn't stop eating it. By adding the official LINE account, I was able to get unlimited refills, so I quickly added it and got a refill. The presence of the sirloin cutlet was so strong that the minced cutlet felt like a bonus, but it was also very delicious and satisfying. I personally really liked it. I felt that it was worth paying over 1000 yen for. Thank you for the meal. [Rating] ★★★★★★★★ 8/10 [Certified as a great restaurant!!!]

I went with a colleague who had never tried beef cutlet before. We ordered the double beef sirloin cutlet. It came out almost fully cooked and ready to eat. I visit this place occasionally, and surprisingly, they also have curry. Thank you for the meal.

As you go up Dogenzaka, you will see a large sign for "Kyoto Katsu" at the intersection at the top of the hill. Located at 1-19-14 Dogenzaka, Shibuya-ku, Century Shibuya B1F. The powerful sign caught my attention for a while. I visited the restaurant with a friend on a weekday at an early hour. We both love tonkatsu, but this was our first time trying gyukatsu.
[Order Details]
- Gyusaroin Katsu, Gyuhire Katsu Kyoto Tamazenzan 1,950 yen
- Share one Menchikatsu for 300 yen
There are various types of gyukatsu available, such as saroin, roast, hire, and tongue, as well as assorted platters. The katsu plates come with cabbage, wasabi, and dipping sauces like dashi soy sauce, sansho salt, and gyukatsu sauce. It also comes with red miso soup. The Kyoto Tamazenzan also includes a half-cooked onsen tamago and Kyoto curry dipping sauce. It's a luxurious meal. You can also add options like mizore ponzu or togarashi miso for 120 yen each. The variety of sauces and condiments allows you to enjoy different flavors.
The meat is tender and flavorful, with a sophisticated taste. It is fried quickly at high heat, resulting in a crispy exterior and a medium-rare inside. We were completely captivated by the gyukatsu. For those who don't like rare meat, there is a table grill available for you to cook it yourself. The cabbage was served with dressing. Gyukatsu dipped in wasabi is absolutely delicious.
The restaurant has counter seats as well, making it easy for solo diners to enjoy a meal. We thoroughly enjoyed our first gyukatsu experience, with great taste and value for money. Thank you for the meal.

The meat was cooked just right, tender and juicy. It went well with the cabbage and rice. I didn't go for seconds this time, just savored each piece. It was delicious with wasabi. The curry was so-so. Overall, it was a tasty meal. Thank you for the meal.

I arrived at the restaurant around 6:30 pm for dinner on a regular day. The restaurant was about 30-40% full. I ordered the balanced red and white (fatty) beef cutlet set meal. It was served in about 10 minutes. The set meal included a generous amount of fresh shredded cabbage, 10 pieces of red and white beef cutlets, red miso soup, rice, dashi soy sauce, wasabi, sansho salt, sauce, onsen egg, and curry broth on the side, perfect for those who like to enjoy a variety of flavors. The cabbage was fresh and crunchy, perfect with yuzu dressing. The red beef cutlet was tender and easy to chew, while the white one had more fat but was not heavy like tonkatsu. The best combination was the dashi soy sauce and wasabi. The red miso soup was delicious with no overpowering acidity, and the large, thick wakame seaweed added a nice touch. The rice was average but served in a generous portion. The only regret was not knowing that the onsen egg was meant to be eaten with the beef cutlet. It was too sweet to eat with rice, but I believe it would have been delicious with the white meat. Although the set meal was a bit pricey, the satisfying content made it worth it.

The turnover rate of the beef cutlet restaurant was good. There were many young people. It was located underground, and there were about 5 groups waiting on the stairs to the ground, but we were seated in about 15 minutes. We ordered the cutlet as soon as we sat down. It came out in a few minutes and the taste was good! However, the cutlet was not fully cut through to the end, and it was connected in several places, which made it difficult to eat. That was disappointing, so I would give it 3 stars. I probably won't go back. The taste was delicious!

Visited a restaurant with my daughter in Shibuya, outside of my usual territory. Despite the pandemic, the restaurant was busy and thriving. The only COVID-19 measures in place were alcohol and temperature checks. My daughter ordered the Large Beef Cutlet Set for 1,749 yen, while I opted for the Indulgent Beef Cutlet Set for 3,069 yen, which allowed us to try tongue, fillet, loin, and sirloin all at once. The beef cutlets were similar to those from another restaurant I used to frequent, and the place gave off an impression of working hard to maintain quality. The beef cutlets were fried quickly, had a good portion size, and were not greasy or smelly. We enjoyed our meal and finished every last bite.

Located in Shibuya Dogenzaka, there is Katsugyu! Despite the big sign outside, you enter through the entrance and go downstairs. Wasabi soy sauce and Kyoto tamago are recommended, but I ordered the demiglace for the first time! The demiglace is rich and delicious in its own way! At 1320 yen including tax, this is amazing! Will definitely come back!

The temporary beef cutlet boom seems to have disappeared, but with a slightly sentimental feeling, I visited "Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu" restaurant. The beef cutlet was not bad, so my expectations were still high. They pride themselves on frying quickly, and indeed, the order arrived promptly. The redness of the meat was remarkably beautiful, which made me feel satisfied just by looking at it. With a variety of condiments for flavoring, I enjoyed it until the end, but personally, I would have preferred a thicker cut. Thank you for the meal.

I had a reservation, so I continued with GoTo Eat by myself. Today, I went to "Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu Shibuya Dogenzaka Store". It's a gyukatsu restaurant with a big sign on Dogenzaka. [Ordered Items] Gyukatsu Rib Roast, Gyukatsu Sirloin Kyoto Tamazen (combination) 1480 yen + tax. The gyukatsu was delicious. I had two different kinds with the combination. The set meal had a satisfying volume, so I was full! It's convenient to have set meals available in the evening for when you finish work. They mentioned that you can have refills of miso soup and cabbage. The interior is like a classic set meal restaurant. The tables and chairs are clean and give a neat impression, but maybe because it was already night downstairs and it's a counter kitchen, there was a slight kitchen-like smell in the restaurant. Also, I wish the restroom was a bit cleaner. The gyukatsu is delicious, so I might try getting a bento for takeout.

When I was walking around Mark City and feeling hungry, I came across a big sign that read "Katsugyu." I realized that I hadn't tried beef cutlet during the beef cutlet boom a few years ago, so I decided to give it a try. It was a bit more refined than tonkatsu, and my first beef cutlet was a great success. It was really delicious, with a taste of lean meat that you don't often find in tonkatsu. It seems to be a chain restaurant, so I think beef cutlet has earned a spot in my meal routine from now on.
