The bistro "cafe brasserie ludique" in Inari-cho, located between Ueno and Asakusa, opened on May 16th. The owner chef, Katsuya Otsuka, has 20 years of experience in French cuisine. The restaurant has a simple and cozy atmosphere with standing and table seating available. The lunch menu includes dishes like Provence-style chicken, pork belly and white kidney bean tomato stew, duck steak au jus, and grass-fed beef sirloin steak. Side dishes include appetizers, eggplant and anchovy breadcrumbs, Ludique lunch pudding, and caramel ice cream. The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable, making it a popular spot.

This was my third visit to this restaurant. I arrived around 1pm, which was past the lunch rush, and there were three groups of customers inside. I was able to get a table easily. I decided to go with the pork dish again, as I was seeking the consistent taste that I enjoyed before. Unfortunately, this time it came with white rice, which was a bit disappointing. I hope to visit again when the menu changes.

During the evening of the Sumida River Fireworks Festival, I went for a walk and made a solo visit to cafe brasserie ludique near Taito City Hall. I enjoyed a highball, ratatouille, and pate de campagne at the standing bar on the first floor. For my second and third drinks, I had a glass of wine. The owner even came out of the kitchen at one point and gave me a complimentary piece of pate de campagne, which was a lucky surprise. Everything was delicious. I will definitely visit again.

I found a nice place in the Ueno area where you can have a quick drink. It's a standing wine bar affiliated with Asakusa Bistro Rudec. The first floor is for standing and the second floor has tables. The menu offers standard French dishes like ratatouille, truffle omelette, and French herb salami. The wine selection is affordable and easy to drink. This place is focused more on the food rather than the wine, so you can enjoy some cool French dishes with your wine without any pretense. The truffle omelette is a must-try, and the portion size is just right even for solo diners. It's a great spot for a second dessert stop too. Lots of possibilities at this place.

I visited cafe brasserie ludique near Taito Ward Office for a walk. As someone with experience visiting ramen shops, I always feel nervous when trying a new place. I enjoyed a highball, carrot rapé, and sausage at the standing bar on the first floor. The second drink was a glass of wine for 2200 yen. Everything was delicious. I will definitely visit again.

On my third visit, the menu had changed and I ordered the new Piccata dish. It had a flavor that was perfect for summer. In my opinion, the pork here is still the most delicious. The salad was consistently tasty. The soup was also served cold, which was perfect for the season.

I went to Rudick in Higashi Ueno for lunch on a weekday in mid-July. I remembered it used to be a mazesoba restaurant, but it had turned into a stylish casual French-like restaurant. It seems they opened in May this year. I don't know anything about French cuisine, but it's said to be a sister store of Rudick in Asakusa. When I entered, the 1st floor had a standing counter, and I was led to the 2nd floor where there was one other group of customers. There were about 20 table seats. The lunch menu allows you to choose from 6 items. I ordered the Provence-style chicken for 1000 yen. The salad was self-service, but there wasn't much left, so I thought of getting some more later, but suddenly more customers arrived and it became full. They were all young women. I was glad to have come with colleagues today because if I had come alone as usual, it might have been awkward (bitter smile). The soup was supposed to be self-service, but the staff brought it to me. The Provence-style chicken arrived. It said it used garlic and tapenade, but the garlic flavor was mild. I think the tapenade was made with green olives. The chicken, carrots, and green beans with the tapenade sauce were very delicious. I ordered focaccia instead of bouillon rice when I placed my order, so I also enjoyed dipping the focaccia in the sauce. However, the rice came in a larger portion for free, so maybe the rice would have been more filling. Overall, it had an elegant feel, so the portion might be a bit small for me. But it might be just right for the other female customers. With a drink included, the 1000 yen lunch seems to offer good value. As I was paying on the 1st floor, a limited 10 servings of French red wine curry came out of the kitchen, and it looked very delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I saw an article on the internet about the opening of a bistro by Mr. Rudeik in Asakusa, so I went to visit. Since it's near Mr. Rudeik's place, I have visited a few times, but it's not a place I can go to frequently due to the prices (although the food is very delicious and the presentation is lovely). I was very happy that the bistro opened. We ordered a la carte and everything was delicious. Yesterday, three of us visited, and I thought it might be more enjoyable to go in small groups and order a la carte rather than going with a large group. I will visit again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Second visit. I ordered the duck hamburger that I couldn't eat last time. The hamburger is round in shape, and since it's duck, the taste is light and not as rich as a regular hamburger. Those who like hamburgers with juicy meat might find it a bit different, but I personally enjoyed it as I didn't get tired of eating it.

I heard a rumor that a new restaurant had opened recently, so I decided to visit. It seems to be a branch of a famous restaurant from Asakusa. It is located a few minutes walk from Ueno in an office district. The exterior is stylish with a red color, and at night the neon sign lights up. The first floor has the kitchen and counter, while the second floor has table seating. I was guided to the second floor, and even though it was 2 pm, there were already 3 groups of customers. The interior is predominantly red, with cute checkered tablecloths. I wanted to order the duck hamburger that I had seen a lot online, but unfortunately, it was sold out. I heard that the pork with mustard sauce was light, so I ordered the pork for ¥1000 and a pudding for ¥300. The salad and soup were free for seconds, and it was self-service, so I could adjust the amount to my liking. Surprisingly, the rice was also free for a large serving, which was much appreciated. The meal came on one plate. The portion of pork was unexpectedly large, and I was worried if I could finish it, but it was easy to eat with an elegant seasoning. It was moist and tender. The sauce was well-coated, allowing it to blend well with the pork. I highly recommend trying the pudding. It was in a unique cake shape, and the taste was rich and delicious. The staff frequently came to the second floor, offering refills and being attentive and kind. I would like to go back next time to try the hamburger.

After finishing work, the drinking enthusiast went to Ueno. Today, they invited their drinking friends to the new branch of "Cafe Brasserie Ludic" and ordered the recommended party plan with all-you-can-drink for 5500 yen. They started with a toast with bubbles! For the amuse-bouche, they had carrot latte, small shrimp marinated, and olives. Next, they enjoyed a lemon sour. The assorted appetizers included duck, white beans, pickles, rillettes, pate de campagne, and ham, perfect for pairing with drinks. They also had a truffle omelette, herb and breadcrumbs grilled sardines with lemon flavor, duck steak with fries, corn mousse, and desserts such as pudding, far breton, and caramel ice cream. All this for 5500 yen made them very happy!

Chef Otsuka's beloved disciple's new restaurant in Asakusa, located near Kikusui-dori, towards the end of Ueno behind the Taito City Hall. It's like a small Paris tucked away behind Asakusa Kannon. Today's lunch special, limited to 10 servings, is "Minced Meat French Red Wine Curry," accompanied by a glass of Veuve du Boall Brut white sparkling wine. The appetizers include a white kidney bean truffle mayonnaise salad, small shrimp and okra lemon marinade, and a trio of carrot rapé. For those dining with others, the Provençal-style chicken dish by Chef Yamahiro is a delicious choice. The restaurant offers an amazing lunch set with great value for money. They also provide a generous salad and soup with free refills. With a stamp card for each visit, you can get a one-coin discount with three stamps. The staff is friendly, attentive, and deserving of support.

Located in the backstreets of East Ueno, on the first and second floors of a building off Route 1, is a bistro that opened two weeks ago on May 16, 2023. This bistro is part of a chain that includes two other establishments: a cafe brasserie called Rudick that opened in December 2016, and another Rudick that opened in May 2023. The interior of the bistro has a calm atmosphere with a color scheme of dark brown and light gray. There are 25 seats in total, with a counter seating five on the first floor, and four tables with four seats each and six tables with two seats each on the second floor. During my visit, about 80% of the seats were occupied, but gradually became available. The clientele consisted of 80% male and 20% female customers. The service was provided by one attentive male staff member and assisted by one female staff member. The menu includes lunch options such as Provencal-style chicken for 1000 yen, roasted pork loin for 1000 yen, duck steak au jus (hamburger) for 1200 yen, and minced meat French red wine curry (limited to 10 servings) for 800 yen. Side dishes include a platter of three appetizers for 500 yen, lemon marinated small shrimp and okra for 500 yen, Fabrington with caramel ice cream for 500 yen, Rudick pudding for 300 yen, coffee for 300 yen, tea for 300 yen, and soft drinks for 300 yen. Lunch comes with free refills of soup and salad, with a choice of bouillon rice or focaccia as a side. Extra rice is available at no additional cost. I ordered the roasted pork loin for 1000 yen. The meal included salad, soup, roasted pork loin, and focaccia. The food was served in approximately 23 minutes, with the salad served at 13:32 (4 minutes after ordering), soup at 13:34 (6 minutes after ordering), and the main dish at 13:51 (23 minutes after ordering). The salad was a self-serve style with mainly sunny lettuce, and the soup was flavorful with carrots and daikon as ingredients. The main dish of roasted pork loin was served on a white plate with green beans and carrots, accompanied by thinly sliced, moist and tender roasted pork loin and a slightly burnt focaccia. The pork loin was cooked at a low temperature, giving it a deliciously fragrant taste. The slightly burnt focaccia also had a great flavor. The atmosphere of the restaurant was calming with its dark brown and light gray color scheme. The attentive and hardworking service provided by the male staff member left a lasting impression. Credit card payment was accepted. The roasted pork loin for 1000 yen includes a salad bar, soup bar, main dish, and focaccia. With the salad and soup bar, the roasted pork loin, cooked at a low temperature to perfection, had a delightful fragrance and was very tasty.

Today I visited cafe brasserie ludique in Higashi Ueno, which opened on May 16th! It used to be Ramen Mitani before. The first floor is standing room only, while the second floor has table seating. It was quite busy due to the Sanja Matsuri festival, with only one staff member managing everything. I started with a bottled beer and then switched to a glass of wine. The food I tried included homemade focaccia, carrot rapé, pâté de campagne, ratatouille, olives, and Provencal-style chicken, among others. Even though the staff was busy, the food was delicious and I could tell they were true professionals. I enjoyed every dish and would love to try more items on the menu in the future. Thank you for the wonderful meal. I will definitely visit again!

Rudick's bistro-style cafe, which I tried for the first time, offers standing service on the first floor. They also offer take-out options for their deli dishes. Some of the menu items sold at department store events like Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi and Shinjuku Isetan are available here. For drinks, I ordered a glass of Duo de Mer Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon (500 yen) and my wife ordered a glass of Malenon Les Ares Grenache Rose (550 yen). The dishes we ordered, in the order they arrived, were Carrot Râpé (300 yen - delicious), Pâté de Campagne (500 yen - thinly sliced pate, the light volume was actually appreciated), Focaccia (100 yen, my wife's choice), Truffle Omelette (900 yen - delicious). We both had another glass of red wine, Sancom Little James Basket Press Red (700 yen each), along with Duck Steak Hash (1200 yen - a small duck meat hamburger, delicious) and Seafood Cream Croquette with Tomato Sauce (900 yen - tasty croquette with clam-infused bechamel). The small portions were perfect for light eating, and we appreciated the traditional French menu. It would have been perfect if they also had Rudick's famous Bouillabaisse Curry on the menu.

Chef Otsuka's beloved disciple's new restaurant, located near the end of Kikusui-dori, Ueno, behind the Taito Ward Office, or perhaps behind Asakusa Kannondo, a small Parisian-style "Ludeic" new store opening reception, I couldn't attend. First visit... While enjoying Chef Yamahiro's homemade focaccia, we had salad, a soup with plenty of ingredients, and free refills. The cost performance was the best! It was delicious.

I heard that a new branch of the popular Asakusa restaurant Rudic has opened, so I went to check it out. The new branch is called "Brasserie Rudic," with a standing bar on the first floor and seating on the second floor. It seems that for this month, they are only open for weekday lunches and standing service on Saturdays. I'm glad they made it more casual and easy to use as a brasserie. I tried the Duck Hash for 1200 yen, which comes with a choice of rice or penne for lunch. I also had a three-appetizer platter, a pudding for 300 yen, and a glass of red wine. The Duck Hash was light and tasty. The pudding was simple yet rich and flavorful, highly recommended. I look forward to revisiting for dinner when they fully open.

Asakusa Rudic's sister store, where you used to be able to walk in without a reservation, now requires one. The choice for side dish is between bouillon rice and penne, with the latter being the preferred option. The tomato stewed pork belly is tender and delicious. The pudding, although different from the photo, is firm and enjoyable.
