Casual Gourmet Quest
On October XX, 2022 (Lunch), I visited Yamamoto's Hamburg, which has several branches in Tokyo. It has been a while since I last visited the Ebisu main store (now closed). I arrived 5 minutes before opening on a weekday, but there were already 3 groups of 6 people waiting in line, showing its popularity. The menu for the Hamburg set meal has about 5 options, all priced at 1,000 yen each, which is very reasonable. I ordered the following:
- Beef tendon demi-hamburg set meal @1,000 yen (tax included)
* Served with rice cooked in a feather pot, miso soup
* Raw egg (1), eating chili oil, pickles, homemade furikake, rice refill (self-service)
- Tsukune minced cutlet @300 yen
It took less than 15 minutes from ordering to being served. The plate with a medium-sized hamburger sitting on it also had lettuce and macaroni salad on the side. The hamburger was not too firm or too soft, but somewhere in between. It had a strong umami flavor and was of sufficient quality for the price. The Parmesan cheese topping and demi-glace sauce complemented each other well, making it delicious. If the beef tendon in the sauce was a bit softer, it would have been perfect. The minced cutlet had a crispy outer layer and a juicy inside, with a slightly tangy and sweet flavor. The chopped shiso leaves added a nice accent. Despite being 300 yen including tax, it provided a satisfaction beyond its price. The miso soup contained seaweed, onions, and daikon radish, showing the effort to use seasonal vegetables. I enjoyed the furikake, chili oil, and raw egg that came with it, so I had a rice refill. The homemade eating chili oil was very delicious. Overall, the delicious hamburger set meal with various services included is priced at 1,000 yen including tax, making it a great value. The counter seats may be a bit narrow, but the atmosphere is comfortable, and the service is polite. If you are looking for a hamburger lunch near Shinbashi Station, this is definitely a great choice.
