On January 10, 2022, I visited this restaurant for the first time with two friends. This place is a sister restaurant to the Korean BBQ restaurant 'Manwaen' in Shinjuku that I visited at the end of last year, and I couldn't forget the amazing seafood sundubu jjigae I had there. The restaurant is located to the left of Manwaen's entrance. The name "Tonbuza" means "rich!" in Korean, which is a lucky name for the restaurant. The atmosphere inside is casual and bright, typical of a Korean izakaya. The complimentary appetizer was bean sprout namul, a perfect snack while waiting for the main dishes. We ordered the following dishes: - Kim Mari (580 yen): A crispy dish made with spring rolls wrapped in seaweed and fried, served with a special sauce. - Cheese Ball (580 yen): A recommended dish consisting of a ball of cheese that cheese lovers will enjoy. - Changja (680 yen): A large portion of Korean-style salted pollack roe, a perfect side dish for drinks. - Samgyeopsal (1,380 yen per serving): Thick slices of pork belly wrapped in lettuce, served with garlic, cabbage kimchi, and onions. Delicious with the sesame oil and gochujang dipping sauces. - Seafood Sundubu Jjigae (1,080 yen): A spicy and flavorful stew with seafood that was incredibly delicious. - Cheese Kimchi Jeon (1,280 yen): A pancake made with cheese and kimchi that was satisfying and filling. - Mul Naengmyeon (980 yen): Cold noodles with a refreshing broth, perfect for those who still have room for more food. - White Peach Tart (580 yen): A dessert with plenty of white peaches, although it was a bit too frozen. We also enjoyed drinks like The Premium Malt's beer, lemon sour, green apple soju soda, whiskey highball, and pomegranate lemon sour. The best part about this place is that you can enjoy delicious Korean cuisine at reasonable prices. It's a great spot for small groups or girls' night out.

I found a restaurant near Shinjuku Station that offers a course with all-you-can-drink option! You can enjoy their famous Samgyupsal with 2-hour all-you-can-drink for only 3,980 yen per person!!! Surprisingly cheap! Almost too cheap to be true... But everything was delicious! The Samgyupsal was served right at the beginning, not at the end as I expected. It was brought out one after another, and the table was full! Plenty of vegetables to eat too! The restaurant is quite spacious, but there were only about 3 groups of customers, and the all-you-can-drink alcohol was served promptly! Personally, I couldn't handle the taste of the mixed alcohol, so I recommend sticking to beer. The staff were all very friendly and made the experience comfortable!

The other day, I visited the restaurant in Akabane with the same name, but there is also one in Shinjuku. It seems to be a chain. It is located just a 1-minute walk from the southeast exit of the station, on the south side of the Koshu Kaido building. The access to the entrance is excellent. The restaurant was empty before 11:30, so we were able to take up a spacious 4-person table. A female staff member (possibly from Korea) brought us side dishes and jugs for the drink bar. The side dishes, along with rice, are all you can eat. As advertised on the sign outside, the drink bar is free during lunchtime. They offer Pepsi, 7UP, melon soda, Natchan, and BOSS iced coffee from the server, while tea is available in PET bottles. However, they do not always change the jug when you switch drinks, so be aware of that. The side dishes, including kimchi and namul, were delicious, and we asked for refills. The main dish, seafood kimchi stew, was not just spicy but also tasty. It had a hint of clam or other broth flavor. Despite feeling unhealthy, I ended up drinking it all. They offer gum and candy at the exit as a service. It is a good restaurant, but the implication of the title "however" is that the restaurant is on the 6th floor, with only one small elevator in the building. During lunchtime, when fewer restaurants are open, it's not a problem. But at night, when businesses on the 10th floor and below are open, be prepared for the access from the entrance to the restaurant.

Overall, I am satisfied! I went on a Saturday night after 7pm. I made a reservation but it wasn't necessary as there were available seats. The overall portion size was very satisfying! All you can drink for 3980 yen with this amount of food is cheap! However, if you go for the samgyupsal, I wish they would reduce the side dishes a bit and increase the amount of meat... I hesitated to add more meat halfway through... The salad, jeon, chicken, and stone pot bibimbap were all delicious and satisfying! There were many groups having drinking parties, so it may be suitable for large groups??

I reserved a 3980 yen all-you-can-drink course. I am very satisfied with the quality at this price! The atmosphere of the restaurant, the food, the drinks, and the fact that you can smoke at the table are all perfect. I will definitely come back again. It's recommended to research how to cook the Samgyupsal yourself before going if it's your first time. Also, since oil splatters and it can get smelly, it's best not to wear nice clothes and bring an apron.

The atmosphere feels like locals are running it, which adds to the authenticity. The fact that you can have unlimited refills of pork is great for eating until you're full. The cost performance seems quite good. The restroom was relatively clean, and the interior of the restaurant was comfortable to spend time in.

First, the elevator took a while to arrive. The floors seemed to be divided between Korean BBQ and Korean cuisine, and since I didn't plan on having BBQ, I was directed to the Korean cuisine section. There was no lunch menu available on weekends, and smoking was allowed with ashtrays on the tables. The smoke was a bit overwhelming for non-smokers. I ordered the Seafood Soft Tofu Stew with rice. The main ingredients were tofu and clams, with just a small amount of other seafood. The spiciness level was moderate.

◆Samgyeopsal (1 serving ¥1380 x 2) This restaurant's signature dish, samgyeopsal, was already prepared on the table. The thick pork belly slices were impressive! The staff cooked it for us, so we eagerly waited. We grilled the meat while unfolding it. Finally, we added kimchi, vegetables, and garlic, and they cut it into easy-to-eat pieces. When we wrapped it all in lettuce and took a bite, it was so hot that I burned my mouth, but it was delicious. Hot but tasty. Tasty but hot.

This was my first visit to this restaurant for a work drinking party. We ordered Samgyeopsal, one prime rib, and harami as our main dishes. The side dishes were overall on the sweeter side. I couldn't handle the strong taste of the oolong high, so I stuck with beer throughout the evening. I feel it would be disrespectful to evaluate Korean cuisine without knowing much about it, but I appreciate the balance of sweet and savory flavors which kept the meal enjoyable without getting boring. Thank you for the meal.

Oh, I remember coming to this building 10 years ago! I recall waiting for over 10 minutes just to get on the elevator. Be careful, everyone. It's a memory of a building where I had a bad shabu-shabu experience at a weird restaurant 10 years ago, which led me to start writing on Tabelog. I remember that the restaurant has already closed. With some trepidation, I visited again. A mishap occurred right away - even though I had reserved a semi-private room, I was seated right next to a noisy foreign family. When I pointed it out, they moved me to a different seat. The all-you-can-eat samgyeopsal for 1650 yen is cheap, but charging an extra 330 yen for lettuce is strange, isn't it? The meat is thick and delicious, but I realized I didn't really need the all-you-can-eat option. If you cook it too much, it becomes tough, so you need to eat it in moderation to enjoy it. Also, there's a lot of fat, so you can't eat too much. It made me feel a bit queasy. With one drink, a refill of lettuce, rice, and appetizers, it came to about 3500 yen per person. It's not a good value at all. The restaurant has high ratings on Tabelog, but I didn't think it was that delicious. Does that sound about right?

Breakfast time. In Shinjuku, there are izakayas open from the morning, which is great. While it's tempting to have alcohol in the morning, I decided to try a soft drink called "Shikke." Oh, it's sweet. It's like amazake or black sugar. It's kind of like mizore. I think I would like this too. The Samgyeopsal comes with lettuce, kimchi, and garlic as toppings. The beautifully sliced pork belly looks like a blooming rose and tastes so satisfying. The staff cooks it perfectly, which I appreciate because I might burn it if I did it myself. The slight spiciness is a flavor I don't usually eat, so it's a nice change. Wrapping it in lettuce makes it healthy. The Pig's Feet are chewy with a crispy skin, reminiscent of roasted pork. It's been a while since I've had pig's feet. I had to resist the urge to devour it all at once. Delicious. The Bulgogi Nori Roll is something I crave occasionally. It has sesame seeds, crunchy cucumber, sweet marinated meat, and seaweed. The Lemon Sherbet is the perfect balance of sour and sweet, which I love. It's refreshing. The generous portioning is much appreciated. The Cassis Soda is strong and satisfying. I also got a candy on my way out. I'm happy with the drink I wanted to try.

I ate Samgyeopsal, Kimchi Jeon, and Cheese Tteokbokki, all of which were very filling. The Kimchi Jeon was delicious, and the staff cooked the Samgyeopsal for us, making us very satisfied! It reminded me of when I visited Korea and got excited. The menu and drinks were plentiful, cheap, and I thought it was a very good Korean izakaya!

◼️Previous Information Genre: Korean cuisine, Yakiniku, Izakaya ◼️Food Consumed: ・Stir-fried Baby Octopus (780 yen) ・Samgyupsal (1380 yen for 2 people) ・Sanchu (330 yen) ・Seafood Sundubu Jjigae (1080 yen) ・Pork Bulgogi Nori Rolls (980 yen) ●●●Overall Review●●● The restaurant is conveniently located near the station and has a semi-private atmosphere, which is a big plus! They offer a wide variety of Korean dishes, including popular items like cheese balls. It's a great place for K-pop fans as they have K-pop posters on the walls and play K-pop songs as background music. I personally enjoyed the fact that they cook the Samgyupsal for you, but you can also choose to cook it yourself. They even serve Sikhye (a Korean sweet rice drink), which was a nice touch. ◆Stir-fried Baby Octopus (780 yen) The dish had a good amount of onions, making it healthy. The flavor was slightly sweet with a good level of spiciness. I recommend using the same pan used for cooking Samgyupsal to fry it for added flavor. Baby octopus is quite popular in Korea but not as common in Japan. They are so cute! ◆Samgyupsal (1380 yen for 2 people) I love pork belly, so I really enjoyed the Samgyupsal. The staff will take care of cooking everything for you, but you can also choose to cook it yourself. I had fun cooking it myself. It's best to wrap the fatty pork belly in Sanchu with sesame oil and salt provided. You can also mix it with the Stir-fried Baby Octopus for different flavors. They also serve Kimchi and garlic for added taste. ◆Pork Bulgogi Nori Rolls (980 yen) The rice was quite soft, so it might be meant to be added to a soup dish like Sundubu. You can make a luxurious Kuppa with it! ◆Seafood Sundubu Jjigae (1080 yen) The soup had a refreshing taste with clams and squid. I recommend adding the garlic and onions from the Samgyupsal to enhance the flavor. ◆Sikhye (Korean drink) I was thrilled to be able to drink this! It's like the Korean version of sweet rice drink, which is not commonly found in Japan. It has a slightly sweet and unique taste, similar to dissolved black honey. I really enjoyed it and got hooked on it! ◼️The restaurant is full of Korean vibes, making it a great choice for K-pop fans. The atmosphere is popular among college students and the semi-private setting allows for a fun and lively dining experience!

The 3500 yen course with all-you-can-drink option was great. Even though I couldn't drink alcohol, they had a variety of non-alcoholic beverages like pear juice and peach juice which was satisfying. The food and drinks were served quickly, the appetizers had a unique taste (authentic?). The fried chicken was freshly made and the samgyeopsal was delicious. The restaurant was not too crowded and I liked the semi-private seating. The meal ended with a delicious soup and ice cream for dessert, overall very satisfying!

A Korean restaurant near Shinjuku southeast exit. Located on the 6th floor above McDonald's, but due to crowded elevators, you have to take the stairs. The sense of the Korean movie posters displayed here is excellent, but the food service is extremely slow. The taste is just average. Thank you for the meal.

The other day, I went to a restaurant with a friend because we wanted to eat Korean food. It was raining that day, so it was nice to find a restaurant near the station. It's very close to Shinjuku Station South Exit. When we entered the restaurant, we were asked if we wanted Korean food or barbecue, so we chose Korean food. They have a switch for calling the staff using a fortune slip. There were many soft drinks available at the restaurant, so I toasted with pear juice that was fresh and delicious. The appetizer pickles were also tasty, with a decent level of spiciness. - Namul Assortment: Fresh namul that you can enjoy thinking it's just vegetables. Delicious. - French Fries: Thin French fries that you can eat a lot of because they are delicious. - Cheese Potato Pancake: Potato pancake with plenty of cheese. It's warm and the melty deliciousness is comforting. - Horse Sashimi Korean Style Yukhoe: Horse sashimi so safe and delicious Yukhoe. It's spicy but the addictive deliciousness. - Tteokbokki: Tteokbokki with a big impact, with boiled eggs. There are plenty of vegetables for a satisfying meal. We had a great time enjoying corn tea and other items. It's great to have authentic Korean food in a lively restaurant near the station. I would like to go again.

Located a 2-minute walk from the southeast exit, on the 6th floor of a building with a McDonald's. I chose this hidden gem because I didn't want to deal with the crowds in Shin-Okubo. We were seated in semi-private booths on both sides, a rare find where you can also smoke. - Cholegi Salad: The dressing was a bit on the sweet side. - Samgyupsal (¥1380 per person x 2): This restaurant's signature dish, as evidenced by the Samgyupsal plates already prepared on the table. The thick pork belly slices were impressive! The staff cooked it for us, and we eagerly waited as they grilled the meat. After rolling up the meat, they added kimchi, vegetables, and garlic, then cut it into bite-sized pieces. I burned my mouth a bit because it was hot, but it was delicious. I enjoyed the Samgyupsal with some Makgeolli while my son happily ate his favorite foods. - Cheese Seafood Pancake: I only had a bite, but the crispy cheese made it a delightful snack. - Cheese Bulgogi: It was quite spicy, and I offered to eat it for my son if it was too much, but he ended up eating it all, panting. What an appetite! - Korean Fried Chicken: The crispy coating was delightful, and my son devoured 80% of it. He must have a bottomless stomach. It would have been even better with honey mustard sauce. - Soju was next on the list, and we ordered Gejang as a snack, but unfortunately, they were out of it that day. Instead, we tried the highly praised stew as a finale. - Seafood Tofu Stew: Indeed, it had a deep and complex flavor profile, different from other places. Oh, I'm so full! My son, who ate several times more than me, must be even fuller.

I went to a authentic Korean restaurant called "豚ブザ" right near Shinjuku Southeast Exit. Even though many people tend to go to Shin-Okubo if they're on the East side of Shinjuku, this restaurant is recommended for those using the South Exit or Southeast Exit. The interior of the restaurant is spacious with large tables, and they also have private rooms which is great for the current situation. We ordered the following dishes: - Samgyupsal - Cheese balls - Kim Mari - Korean seaweed - Jangjorim - Horse meat Yukhoe - Cheese potato jeon We were surprised by the large portion of meat in the Samgyupsal dish! The staff cooked it for us and even cut it into easy-to-eat pieces. They provided paper cups on the side of the grill, which made it easy for us to collect the excess fat. We also grilled kimchi, onions, and garlic, and wrapped the meat in lettuce to eat. It was delicious, especially when the fat started to cook off. Even though I'm not a big fan of fatty meat, I really enjoyed it! You can order the Samgyupsal as a single dish or as part of an all-you-can-eat course. The cheese in the cheese balls was amazing, and the Kim Mari (deep-fried glass noodles wrapped in seaweed) was crispy and delicious. The Jangjorim and horse meat Yukhoe were fresh and tasty. This restaurant is not to be underestimated! Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant offered both all-you-can-eat and a la carte options, but this time I chose to go with a la carte to avoid being constrained by time. The teppanyaki, individual dishes, and Korean sake were all delicious. Although the time limit was stated to be 2-3 hours, I was able to stay longer without any issues as there were empty seats. Ordering the banana makgeolli in a bottle was a great choice - highly recommended!

The year-end party season is almost coming to an end... This year, after two years, I was able to have a small year-end party with a friend at a Korean restaurant that offers a unique dining experience not available at home. The restaurant is conveniently located just a short walk from Shinjuku Station South Exit, in the building next to Newman. The spacious interior has many private and semi-private rooms, making it a welcoming spot during this time of year. The atmosphere inside is reminiscent of a Korean restaurant, with K-pop music and music videos playing, creating a feeling of being in Korea. We started with corn tea (350 yen) for a toast. The Namul Assortment (880 yen) is a dish that women would love, with plenty of vegetables to enjoy (I was torn between Kimchi, but was informed that Kimchi comes with the Samgyeopsal, so I chose Namul!). The Samgyeopsal (1,380 yen per person) comes with Kimchi. The authentic tangy Kimchi is a great addition, and of course, we also ordered some Sangchu (330 yen). The Samgyeopsal features large pork belly slices grilled on a hot plate. The staff graciously cooks and cuts the meat for you. Once cooked, you wrap the meat and Kimchi in Sangchu and enjoy the delicious combination of pork sweetness, Kimchi acidity, and refreshing vegetables. Toppoki, a favorite of mine, was a must-order. We chose the Cheese Toppoki (980 yen) with plenty of stretchy cheese that pairs well with the sweet and savory sauce. Besides Toppoki, it also includes cabbage, onions, and other vegetables, making it a hearty dish. The spiciness lingers and intensifies, giving it an authentic taste! The Miso Stew (1,080 yen) has a rich seafood broth and is hot and comforting, perfect for this season. The stew has a mild flavor with little spiciness, making it suitable for those who are not fans of spicy food. For dessert, we had the daily ice cream (380 yen), which was vanilla on that day. With many Korean staff, you can enjoy a Korean travel-like experience without having to go all the way to Shin-Okubo. Highly recommended!

Last month, I had a year-end party with friends at a Korean restaurant in Shinjuku called "Korean Cuisine Buta Buza Shinjuku." It's about a 5-minute walk from Shinjuku Station South Exit, near the Newman building exit. It had been a while since I saw my friends and had Korean food, so I was really looking forward to it. We started with Samgyeopsal for 1380 yen per serving. The thick pork slices are made from domestic pork, 11mm thick! It came with kimchi, so we also ordered Sanchu for 330 yen. The staff cooked and cut the meat for us, which was very helpful as it can be tricky to get it just right. While waiting for the meat to cook, we enjoyed the Namul assortment for 880 yen. It was crunchy and perfectly seasoned. Finally, the meat was ready! With onions and garlic, the two servings were quite filling. We wrapped the meat in Sanchu with the sauce recommended by the staff. It was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, with delicious flavors spreading in the mouth with each bite. The staff also recommended the Cheese Tteokbokki for 980 yen, which had a good balance of sweet and spicy flavors with the cheese coating. We ended the meal with Miso Jjigae for 1080 yen, a rich and comforting dish that warmed us up. Since that day, I've been craving Korean food every day. It was a fun year-end party.
