This time, the restaurant is "Pork ○ Store AISHI Shinjuku Store". Located in Shinjuku Sanchome, it is a Japanese izakaya specializing in shabu-shabu and black pork. The location is at the intersection east of Shinjuku 5-chome. The entrance to the restaurant is down the stairs leading to the basement next to Starbucks. It is around 6:00 pm. The interior of the restaurant has a Japanese atmosphere, with private tatami rooms and large private rooms. I ordered "shabu-shabu", "Kagoshima-produced Rokushaku black pork karaage", and "three types of horse sashimi". For drinks, I had a highball. The restaurant seems to specialize in draft beer with perfect foam and sake. After a short wait, we were served an appetizer of pork shabu with nanohana mustard and a highball. The rich sweetness of the pork shabu, the bitterness of the nanohana, and the freshness of the mustard sauce. This appetizer alone was a winner. Victory pose. Let's dig in. Report: - Kagoshima-produced Rokushaku black pork karaage 690 yen A new type of pork karaage. Crispy and juicy, with the sweetness of pork and a mild flavor. The Rokushaku black pork is quite to my liking. It's cut in half, which is pleasing, as there's no risk of injuring your mouth with karaage, a common occurrence. This is important. - Horse sashimi 3 types (raw, seared, yukke) 2480 yen Horse sashimi delivered directly from Kumamoto. Enjoyed with sweet Kagoshima soy sauce and raw soy sauce. The horse sashimi is firm and rich in umami. It has no strong taste, and you can even sense a slight sweetness. It's very fresh horse sashimi. The aroma of the seared sashimi is pleasant, and it has a strong flavor of garlic rather than ginger. It paired well with the highball, but sake or wine might be better. The sweet soy sauce is quite sweet and goes well with the horse sashimi. The yukke is the lightest since it doesn't use soy sauce. Mix it with plenty of egg yolk and a sip of alcohol. I wanted some rice, so sake would be the best friend. - Kagoshima-produced Rokushaku black pork shabu-shabu 1610 yen You can choose from two types of sauces for the shabu-shabu. I chose dashi and Chinese herbal medicine. Roast and belly of Rokushaku black pork. First, cook the vegetables and lightly swish the pork. The sweet and melty belly goes well with the broth. Wrap the vegetables in pork and enjoy, it's pure bliss. This is what shabu-shabu is all about. The refreshing aroma of Chinese herbal medicine enhances the sweetness of the pork and warms the body. Hmm, both are delicious. They also add soup halfway through, and there's ramen or zosui for the finale. I was very satisfied. Thank you for the meal. Epilogue: I initially thought it was just a random izakaya from the location and appearance, but the food was incredibly delicious, and the drinks were also very good. Especially the horse sashimi was outstanding. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was nice, and the service from the staff was excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to those who want to enjoy delicious drinks in Shinjuku Sanchome. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I visited during my lunch break from work. I have been here a few times and always order the pork nanban. The tartar sauce is sweet and addictive. The lunch set comes with drinks, curry, and you can also get rice refills, so it's a great option when you're really hungry and want to eat a lot.

First visit! The hamburger restaurant had a wait time of just under 2 hours, so we decided to try Pork ◯-san as our second choice. I ordered the Pork Nanban!! It was 950 yen, and you get a set meal with a cozy kotatsu table where you can relax and chat with your girlfriend. We were very satisfied with our lunch! By the way, they offer all-you-can-eat rice, all-you-can-eat curry, and all-you-can-drink coffee and tea, so it's quite cost-effective!! I even got a second helping of the curry with extra rice, haha.

I found a restaurant with all-you-can-drink shabu-shabu for 4000 yen, which was a great deal for a farewell party. The place was crowded with businessmen, but surprisingly there was enough space for everyone. I don't remember much about the appetizers or the ramen at the end, but I do remember that the main dish, black pork, was delicious.

The shop is a place where you take off your shoes at the entrance. The staff will take care of your shoes. The food was delicious. At the time of booking, we only selected the all-you-can-drink option, but on the day, we were able to choose a course, which was great. The most delicious dish was the fried pork. It was like a pork cutlet, but the coating was fried and very tasty. The restroom was separate for men and women, and the women's restroom even had mouthwash, which was very nice! It was a cozy place, so I want to go again!

I would like to introduce a delicious restaurant located in a corner of Shinjuku Sanchome. Unfortunately, I ended up not being able to eat there this time because I kept ordering these delicious sweet potato chips-like snacks. They were so good! Also, when I tried the gachapon near the entrance of the restaurant, I got a Yamazaki whiskey. According to the staff, it was the best prize you could get. Getting a Yamazaki for just 100 yen was quite lucky! Later on, I drank shots of Yamazaki at another place and ended up getting drunk. Thank you very much!

You can enjoy dishes made with Kagoshima's finest Rokkaku Kurobuta pork at this restaurant. Some of the items include steamed Rokkaku Kurobuta pork shabu-shabu, homemade pork cutlet with sauce, fried Kagoshima Rokkaku Kurobuta pork, and the famous homemade braised pork belly. The appetizer includes cold shabu-shabu with Rokkaku Kurobuta pork, spring vegetables, and grated yam. The main dish of steamed Kagoshima Rokkaku Kurobuta pork shabu-shabu allows you to taste both belly and loin cuts, served with seasonal vegetables, sesame sauce, and ponzu. The pork is tender and not greasy, making it easy to eat multiple slices. The homemade pork cutlet is crispy, accompanied by delicious homemade sauce. The unique fried Kurobuta pork is also flavorful without any unpleasant odor. The homemade braised pork belly is tender and delicious. The staff at the restaurant are attentive and provide helpful information. I would love to visit again!

I used it for lunch. The person I was with made a reservation, so I don't know the details, but it seems like lunch was reserved for a course only. The lunch time was not very crowded and quiet. The reserved seat was a private room, but there were also regular seats. You can hear the voices from the neighboring seats, so some people might find it annoying. They serve the course starting from the appetizer. I forgot to take a photo of the shabu-shabu, but the pork was sweet and delicious. Vegetables also come with it, so you can wrap plenty of vegetables and eat them. You can also order additional items separately. You can choose between pork belly or loin for the meat. We added sweet potato chips and eggplant and cheese spring rolls. You can choose between rice or ramen for the finishing touch. The dessert was almond jelly. There was no rush to leave, so we could relax.

I visited the restaurant "Tonmaru Shoten AISHI Shinjuku" in Shinjuku Sanchome, which specializes in black pork dishes. This restaurant sources the highest quality "Rokushaku Kurobuta" directly from a contract pig farm in Kagoshima, offering shabu-shabu and other black pork dishes. Rokushaku Kurobuta is considered Japan's highest grade pork, comparable to beef in terms of price. It is known for its fine texture, tender meat, rich flavor, and refreshing fat. I tried the Kagoshima Rokushaku Kurobuta steamed shabu-shabu for 1,610 yen, black pork thigh meat tempura for 630 yen, Kagoshima Rokushaku Kurobuta fried chicken for 590 yen, and the cream cheese miso pickle. Everything was delicious, especially the fried chicken which was impressive. The pork was flavorful without any unpleasant smell, thanks to the quality of Rokushaku Kurobuta. The steamed shabu-shabu was surprisingly generous in portion. The restaurant offers great value for money and has a calming, traditional Japanese ambiance. The staff are lively, polite, and provide excellent service. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant.

Rating: 2 (1 affordable -> 5 upscale) Taste: 3 (1 mediocre -> 5 excellent) Service: 3 (1 mediocre -> 5 excellent) Atmosphere: 1 (1 casual, noisy -> 5 upscale, cozy) Cost performance: 4 (1 not worth the price, small portion -> 5 worth it, satisfying portion) Visited on: 3.08 Located a 1-minute walk from Shinjuku-sanchome Station C6 exit, in the Hanabishi Building B1F, this Japanese izakaya specializes in Kagoshima-produced "Rokushaku Kurobuta" shabu-shabu and other black pork dishes. They welcome solo diners, so I made a reservation and went after work. The interior is a cozy, traditional Japanese space where you can relax and feel like you're dining at home. The private rooms have sunken kotatsu tables and are spacious, making them highly recommended. - Autumn eggplant with grated yam (complimentary appetizer): Has a gentle taste of white miso. - Kagoshima-produced Rokushaku Kurobuta steamed shabu-shabu (1,610 yen): A refreshing dish with homemade yuzu ponzu sauce and sesame dressing. The raw meat is shown in a steamer before steaming, and it's accompanied by plenty of vegetables like Chinese cabbage and bean sprouts. - Kagoshima-produced Rokushaku Kurobuta fried chicken (590 yen): A popular item that was crispy on the outside and juicy inside, with the pork's deliciousness concentrated through frying. Goes well with Bolivian salt. - Black pork thigh meat Nanban fried (630 yen): Fried black pork thigh meat topped with homemade Nanban sauce. A popular choice among regulars, the sauce has a gentle sweet and sour taste that even those who don't like acidity can enjoy, with plenty of egg-rich tartar sauce on top. Given its convenient location and suitability for group dining, I found this to be a user-friendly izakaya. This review is based on its user-friendliness. Thank you for the meal. Just a short walk from Shinjuku Sanchome Station, this restaurant offers delicious dishes made with Kagoshima's Rokkaku Kurobuta pork. They also have a wide selection of Kyushu sake, which adds to the excitement. The Rokkaku Kurobuta shabu-shabu, the specialty black pork belly stew, and the fried black pork with lotus root are all incredibly tender and juicy. The shabu-shabu meat was beautiful, with both loin and belly options available for comparison. Finally, adding noodles at the end made for a satisfying and hearty meal, allowing us to fully enjoy the local gourmet experience!

Enjoy the highest quality Kagoshima-raised Rokkaku Kurobuta pork at AISHI Shinjuku store in Shinjuku Sanchome. Pork meat is not only good for fatigue recovery but also for beauty (〃艸〃) Rokkaku Kurobuta has been ranked first among 30 varieties of national brand pork. I couldn't resist the temptation and made a solo reservation (lol) (online reservations require a minimum of 2 people, so I called for a solo reservation). To avoid causing inconvenience, I booked an early time slot at 4:00 pm, and they kindly prepared a private room for me (´;ω;`) How thoughtful. The interior of the restaurant has a calm lighting, and even the private room I was given for the appetizer was a sunken kotatsu-style seating, making me feel very relaxed ★ The staff at the restaurant were cheerful, polite, and welcoming, making it a great place to visit alone. There was even a sign at the entrance saying, "Feel free to come alone" (*´▽`*) The appetizer of sticky rice shumai was unexpectedly delicious! Juicy meat with a hint of ginger for a gentle seasoning. The highly anticipated minced cutlet was also a hit, and they even asked if I wanted it whole, cut, or sliced (´;ω;`) How thoughtful. The original sauce and Bolivian rock salt provided were both delicious! Especially, as rumored, the homemade sauce for the minced cutlet was amazing. Limited to 30 servings, so I ordered it early, and it was truly delicious! The coating was also crispy. The main dish was the recommended "Kagoshima Prefecture Rokkaku Kurobuta pork shabu-shabu". You can choose from 2 types of soup, and I chose the most popular broth and a hot pot. The broth, which you can dilute with dipping sauce, had a sweet flavor similar to noodle soup, which went well with both vegetables and meat! The meat options were belly and thigh. It says it's for 2 people or more, but you can ask if you're dining alone! I was fine dining alone, so it should be OK. Taking advantage of the private room, I also ordered the "Famous Black Pork Belly Stew" and the first-time "Black Pork Thigh Tempura", and enjoyed them thoroughly ♥ The tartar sauce for the tempura was also homemade, with a sweet vinegar dressing and a fluffy egg-like texture, which was delicious ♥ Everything I ordered here was delicious! The service was great, and the food was tasty, so this is definitely a place I will come back to! Thank you for the wonderful meal.

An underground izakaya specializing in black pork dishes. There are a few counter seats, as well as tables and box seats. I visited for lunch and ordered the black pork thigh nanban fried set meal (950 yen). It's like nanban fried chicken but with pork, and the delicious flavor of the pork really stands out. The side cabbage is seasoned with a tasty salt sauce. They have curry available at the counter for free refills, which could go well with dishes like pork cutlet curry. They also serve fukujinzuke, a pickled vegetable condiment, which is generous with pieces of pork. The drink options include coffee, tea, orange juice, and water, all of which are free-flow. Overall, it's a great restaurant. Looking forward to trying it out at night. They seem to have a good selection of shochu as well.

Located on the underground first floor along Yasukuni Street in Shinjuku Sanchome, I was drawn in by the Tonkatsu sign and decided to enter. It's a shoe-free type of establishment. The interior is dimly lit with a tavern-like decor. I ordered the set with both fillet and loin Tonkatsu. The loin had a crispy coating and was not greasy, very delicious. The fillet also had a strong meaty flavor and was tasty. I was satisfied being able to enjoy both the loin and fillet. For dessert, I topped the Tonkatsu with the self-serve curry to make Katsu Curry. The curry was a bit on the lighter side, but overall, from the fillet to the loin to the Katsu Curry, I was able to enjoy it all without getting tired and left feeling satisfied.

I went to Tonmaru Shouten for lunch with my colleagues from work. As always, the all-you-can-eat curry was amazing. I ordered the tonkatsu set meal for 1000 yen, so I enjoyed the first half with the tonkatsu and the second half by eating it like katsu curry. It was delicious twice. I was very satisfied.

I happened to come in 2 years ago and have been going regularly since then! The service is generally good, and you can eat and drink to your heart's content for ¥4,000 to ¥5,000! It's a great place for dates or business meetings! They have private rooms, counter seats, and spacious tables, so it can be used for various occasions! My recommendation is the horse sashimi and tonkatsu! They also have a seared version of the horse sashimi, but I prefer the regular one. I will definitely go back!

I had lunch at an izakaya located underground at the corner of Shinjuku 5-chome intersection. I was seated at the counter as a solo diner and ordered the pork stamina grill set from the lunch menu with a male staff member. The place was quite busy, with rice, miso soup, and curry being self-service, so there was a lot of movement around. The dish was served, and it was much better than if I had made it myself. It was a tasty meal that went well with the rice. After finishing the first serving, I made my own curry for the second serving. It felt like getting twice the deliciousness in one bite. The curry may not be from a specialty shop, but it was good enough for me. I look forward to trying a menu item with "black pork" in the name next time.

This time, I visited a shabu-shabu restaurant specializing in Kagoshima's Rokkaku Kurobuta in Shinjuku Sanchome. They offer a lunch set of Rokkaku Kurobuta loin cutlet. The location is a 1-minute walk from Shinjuku Sanchome Station on the Toei Shinjuku Line, Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line, and Fukutoshin Line. I arrived around 1:30 PM. The restaurant is located underground and has about 50 seats including a counter, tatami room, table, semi-private room, and private room. I ordered the Special Black Pork Loin Cutlet set (130g) for 1,380 yen and also added a Menchi Katsu (around 400 yen). The set comes with pickles, cabbage, miso soup, and rice with free refills. The appearance of the dishes was like thin slices which reminded me of ham cutlets. The set had 8 pieces which was quite generous. The taste was good, but I couldn't quite feel the flavor of the Kurobuta pork. The sauce and breading were tasty and the cabbage with dressing was delicious. The Menchi Katsu was really good and the sauce paired perfectly with it. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

In the morning, while working, I received a message from my daughter asking me to go to Isetan Shinjuku around 11 o'clock. So, I reluctantly paused my desk work and took the F-line to Shinjuku Sanchome! I arrived at 11:02 and headed to the children's clothing section where the usual store was. There were already nearly 20 people there, but I managed to get the store manager to let me in last minute. I waited in line and finished around 11:45. While waiting, I tried to make a reservation at Mantensei, but it seemed like lunch reservations were not available today, so I decided to take a stroll in Shinjuku Sanchome after a long time. Due to the pandemic, most Western-style restaurants and bistros were closed, with only offal skewer shops and ramen shops standing out. At that moment, I spotted a shop with a sign that read "Black Pork Minced Cutlet" - how could I resist trying it? I entered the shop, took off my shoes for temperature check and disinfection, and was guided to a table seat with a sunken kotatsu. I ordered the black pork minced cutlet, and was told that all drinks were free - with 4 types available: iced coffee, oolong tea, orange juice, and water. Moreover, rice and curry were also free - what a great deal! The interior of the shop looked like an izakaya, but not only for lunch, the regular menu also included black pork minced cutlet, so I had high hopes. After a while, the black pork minced cutlet arrived! The medium-sized cutlets were thick and the oil was clean. I took a bite without any sauce, and it was hot but delicious. Since it was made from pork, it was milder in taste compared to beef, but still tasty. However, what surprised me was the minced cutlet sauce that came with it. The sauce was full of fruit chunks rather than vegetables, and it paired incredibly well with the black pork minced cutlet. As I enjoyed the meal with the sauce, I resisted getting a refill and only had the iced coffee after the meal. Just with this minced cutlet sauce, I already want to visit again. Next time, I'll come for the minced cutlet at night. Thank you very much for the wonderful meal!!!

During the coronavirus pandemic, I visited a friend's restaurant with my colleague. They are dedicated to using black pork and aiming to be a high-class izakaya, putting in daily efforts. Their attitude of gratitude towards customers and the love they put into their cooking is overflowing. The horse sashimi was very fresh, with no hint of any unpleasant smell and just the right amount of delicious flavor. The shabu-shabu was on a completely different level of deliciousness compared to what you would have at home! I realized that the difference in meat quality and the professional touch in the soup and seasoning are what create this deliciousness. The desserts were also satisfying, and my colleague was very pleased. I will definitely visit for a year-end party. Thank you for the meal. PS. The appetizer was a mini hamburger. I forgot to take a photo because I was so hungry. Sorry, Chef Tanaka.
