In between errands, I had a little over an hour to spare and felt a bit hungry, so I decided to grab a quick bite at the original sushi restaurant where you can eat and leave quickly. Unlike the popular conveyor belt sushi places, the sushi here is hand-pressed so it may not be perfectly shaped. The foie gras gunkan was rich and delicious. The squid was a bit thin. The whole spear squid was a bit watery. Unfortunately, they were out of fish broth soup, which was disappointing. It was fun trying to grab and return the wasabi from the lane. The hot water for tea was warm enough, which was great for someone like me who is sensitive to hot temperatures.

I stopped by the revolving sushi restaurant "Mawaru Ganso Sushi Ikebukuro Higashi-guchi" that I had been curious about while passing by. After finishing up some work and errands on my own, I quickly went in. I ordered a beer for 520 yen and 3 pieces of shellfish to cheers. When asked if I wanted a large beer, I said medium and got a beer in a mug. It was raining that day, so I also tried the crab soup for 120 yen, which was the last one (apparently sold out for the next customer). It was more like a fish and miso soup with plenty of seafood, very tasty. The shellfish came with a piece of egg roll, and unexpectedly, it was quite delicious. I had 5 plates of fresh salmon sushi and my stomach was full. It was just right for a snack. There seemed to be a staff member in training, and I watched as they accidentally dropped a plate. There was only one person making the sushi, but they were doing their best. The prices were reasonable, and it was a quick meal, so I might go again if I have the chance. The interior of the restaurant was not particularly clean, so it might not be suitable for those who prefer a stylish atmosphere. There were many solo diners who quickly ate and left.

I wandered around Ikebukuro thinking about sushi, and ended up at the original sushi restaurant I had visited a long time ago. I had sardine, shrimp, bonito, gizzard shad, chawanmushi, whelk, and cured mackerel for just over 1,000 yen. The sushi rice was small and easy to eat. It was neither good nor bad... just the sushi I wanted to eat. Thank you for the meal.

It's a quick stop, with fast service and affordable prices. It has a fast food feel like hamburgers or standing soba, but the sushi here is really good. This time it was squid day, so there were only squid dishes, but the shellfish and fish were also delicious. There are many sushi restaurants, but in terms of cost performance, this place is recommended.

After a movie date with my daughter, we were looking for a place to have lunch. Unfortunately, all the restaurants we had in mind had long lines, even the family restaurants had a wait of 4 groups. It was already close to 2 pm, so we needed to find somewhere to eat quickly. That's when I noticed this conveyor belt sushi restaurant. My daughter loves sushi, so we decided to go in. It had been a long time since I last visited this sushi restaurant, probably around 10 years. The place was not very crowded, and the sushi on the belt looked a bit dry. My daughter ordered her favorite tamago sushi, while I chose some shellfish and white fish. The taste was average, but the prices were reasonable. My daughter was more interested in the crane game prizes she had won and didn't eat much. I had to feed her by taking a bite and then feeding her. It was a bit chaotic, but we managed to have a quick lunch due to the late hour.

After work, I was torn between sushi and soba, but since this place was nearby, I decided to stop by. It's a chain restaurant, so I thought "Well, let's play it safe" and started with "shrimp" and "ark shell". The shrimp sushi uses small vannamei shrimp, but the seasoning goes well with the rice and it doesn't get boring. The ark shell is also a sliced red ark shell product, but it's clean and doesn't have a strong taste. Maybe the brand they use matches well. The squid is cut in half with a swirling pattern, and the sweet shrimp is a small tail-on peeled product. The way they sit on the rice has a cost-efficient conveyor belt sushi charm to it, which is actually quite nice (not sarcastically). The crow's skin is thin at 2cm wide, but since it has a unique flavor and strong fat content, this balance works well (personal preference). The service tuna today is strong in texture with a bit of fat. The fatty tuna has a hint of sweetness which is also good. It may look a bit unimpressive at first glance, but the way the rice and fish balance each other out at this original sushi restaurant is really delicious (personal preference).

Ikebukuro Higashi-guchi's revolving sushi chain "Ganso Sushi" is a place I visited for a snack time. Located on Sunshine Chuo Street, near Ootoya's founding location. I ordered the "Black Seabream" (200 yen), "Amberjack" (160 yen), "Shrimp" (160 yen), "White Turban Shell - Large" (160 yen), "Shellfish Trio" (250 yen), and "Tuna Red Meat" (200 yen). The total bill for 6 plates and 13 pieces was 1,243 yen including tax. The service was quick, and the sushi was satisfactory. The atmosphere was bustling, perhaps due to the recent closure of a nearby sushi restaurant. Overall, it was a quick and enjoyable snack. (By Kyanatsushishiku, 2020.12.16)

I came to Ikebukuro for work and happened to stop by the original sushi chain store that I like. Due to the current situation, there are limited choices available, mostly due to shortages. However, they still have all the high-quality options. I think it might be because they use frozen ingredients. Despite some items being out of stock like crab miso soup, I still recommend this place as it is delicious and affordable.

When I was working part-time in Ikebukuro, I often used to stop by here for a meal before my shift. I've always loved the Tsubugai Mayo at the original Sushi restaurant, and I frequently visit the Iidabashi branch near my university. However, the Tsubugai Mayo at the Ikebukuro Higashi-guchi branch was exceptionally delicious compared to other branches. Also, one of the sushi chefs there seemed to remember my face, as he always greeted me kindly whenever I visited, which made me very happy. I no longer work in Ikebukuro, so I don't have many opportunities to visit anymore, but whenever I have a reason to go to Ikebukuro, I always make sure to stop by this original Sushi restaurant. I plan to continue visiting to enjoy that amazing Tsubugai Mayo whenever I go to Ikebukuro in the future.

I stopped by on my way shopping. It had been quite a while since I last visited the original sushi place, maybe more than 10 years ago. The restaurant was crowded because it was small, and the seating was cramped, so it wasn't very relaxing. There were few types of sushi toppings available, and some items were sold out, so there wasn't much that I wanted to eat. The toppings themselves seemed kind of limp and lacked freshness.

It's been a while since I visited Ikebukuro. I decided to go for a light lunch and remembered this place that meets the conditions of being quick, cheap, and tasty. Despite the crowds in Ikebukuro during lunchtime, this place was easy to get into. It's a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, but the quality was decent and I enjoyed it with a bottle of beer. The grilled salmon was particularly delicious, and I was able to enjoy some ankimo even though it's summer. At around 1,300 yen per person, I thought it was a good beer lunch. It's worth a try.

I visited this place wanting to have a light meal and some light alcohol. The bottled beer I ordered and the combination of dishes, starting with the squid, made me confident of victory in terms of deliciousness. The squid had a beautiful taste. The salmon was fatty and tender without any fishy smell, truly exquisite. The sea bream had a good texture that showed they used quality ingredients. The service was good considering the price, and you could feel the restaurant's dedication. The sushi and alcohol were truly wonderful, and the affordability added to the overall satisfaction.

I went to get eyelash extensions in Ikebukuro, and before dinner, I felt a little hungry so I decided to grab something light to eat on my way back. I really wanted to have ramen, but after getting eyelash extensions, I didn't want to sweat for a while, so I chose a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. It's been a while since I had sushi other than ordering from the touch panel, so I struggled a bit with the timing for ordering verbally. Eventually, I managed to order tuna, bonito, boiled conger eel, sea urchin, salmon roe, assorted tuna sashimi, and miso soup. The tuna belly was a bit disappointing, but the assorted tuna sashimi was delicious, especially the lean tuna. The miso soup with clams had a decent amount of clams and was piping hot and tasty. I wanted to eat more, but I'm a bit timid and couldn't bring myself to order more, so this was all I could eat. The rice portion was decent, and all the sushi had a good amount of wasabi, almost making me tear up.

I visited this restaurant before work. It is located about a 3-minute walk from the east exit of Ikebukuro Station. This original sushi restaurant has branches all over Tokyo, but I felt that the quality varies depending on the location (such as the size of the sushi rice, the size of the fish, and the attitude of the staff). This particular restaurant was relatively average, but I was surprised by the presentation and service at another branch I visited before. The medium fatty tuna and fatty tuna were delicious and quite fresh, but the other sushi was honestly just average. The prices are quite reasonable, and they even have time-limited discounts, so depending on when you visit, it might be worth it. In the competitive sushi scene of Ikebukuro, personally, I would rank this restaurant on the lower end. I won't be revisiting. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the original sushi restaurant Ikebukuro Higashiguchi for dinner today. It is a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, and I stopped by when I was wandering around Ikebukuro and feeling a bit hungry. I carefully looked at the menu and enjoyed grabbing sushi plates as they rotated by. Nowadays, many conveyor belt sushi restaurants have reduced the variety of sushi going around, and it is common to order using touch panels, but here, a wide variety of sushi plates are rotating frequently. I also appreciated that they don't have many of the trendy and unusual sushi toppings that are often seen in recent conveyor belt sushi restaurants, and instead focus on offering a simple but diverse selection of sushi. The sushi was delicious. Thank you for the meal.
