Tonight, I visited Hassen, a restaurant specializing in "nodoguro" (blackthroat seaperch). It was my first time hearing about a restaurant specializing in nodoguro in Tokyo, so I was very excited to visit. I arrived via the Hibiya Line and the restaurant was just a 2-3 minute walk from the Hibiya Line Exit 1, near the Mitsui Memorial Hospital, making it easy to find. The entrance was bright and welcoming, with the chefs and owner greeting me with cheerful voices from the open kitchen inside. The interior was bright with a wood theme, as the restaurant had only been open for a month. I could see a sake cellar from the counter kitchen, indicating a good selection of sake. I started with a drink, opting for a non-alcoholic iced oolong tea, while my friend chose a mint lemon sour. The appetizers were a jelly with a strong dashi flavor and crispy fried white shrimp. We also enjoyed dishes like fresh fish namero, seared Hachinohe silver mackerel, tender octopus simmered in soy sauce, and a seasonal warm vegetable salad. The sashimi platter was luxurious, featuring nodoguro sashimi, which was delicious. The simmered nodoguro was bursting with flavor and a true delicacy. We also tried a selection of sushi and the restaurant's signature tai meshi (sea bream rice). For dessert, we had a sweet potato brûlée with vanilla ice cream and a Japanese-style tiramisu. The Japanese sake we had was so good that I wanted to share it on Instagram. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with the delicious nodoguro dishes and the reasonable prices at this restaurant. The attention to detail in both the food and the presentation, as well as the welcoming atmosphere, made it a truly enjoyable dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic and delicious nodoguro dishes. It was a delightful meal. Thank you very much.

Hidden gem Japanese restaurant located on a quiet street heading towards Asakusabashi from Akihabara. Enjoy premium fish like anaguma at the counter facing the open kitchen. The restaurant is popular among young customers who indulge in adult Japanese cuisine in a slightly luxurious atmosphere. ✔️ Sashimi assortment - 1 serving ¥1980 (photo shows 2 servings) ✔️ Grilled anaguma with salt - ¥2200 ✔️ Eight fairy shrimp fritters - ¥990 ✔️ Soft-boiled octopus - ¥880 ✔️ Autumn salmon and salmon roe clay pot rice - ¥3300 ✔️ Avocado in soba broth - ¥770 ✔️ Seasonal warm vegetable salad - ¥990 Start with a luxurious sashimi platter including tuna, sea bream marinated in kelp, yellowtail, firefly squid, silver cod, and anaguma. Each piece showcases the quality of the ingredients, such as the delicious sea bream marinated in kelp, the yellowtail with just the right amount of fat and firm texture, and the tender and sweet firefly squid. But the star of the show is definitely the anaguma! The slightly seared anaguma oozes with rich fat and juicy meat, creating an exquisite taste sensation. The seared silver cod also impresses with its dripping fat and flavorful meat, rivaling the anaguma in deliciousness! The grilled anaguma with salt brings out the aroma of the fat and meat, a taste that is equally as delicious as the sashimi. Among the à la carte dishes, the eight fairy shrimp fritters stand out. The crispy fritters exude the fragrance of shrimp and shiitake mushrooms, delivering the delicate flavors of Japanese cuisine. The tender-boiled octopus is also noteworthy, with the octopus flavor permeating the daikon radish, offering a rich taste experience. For the finale, the clay pot rice is a must-try. The salmon and salmon roe topping the rice cooked with salmon is a dish that ranks among the best rice dishes I have ever tasted! The chewy texture of the salmon roe and the crispy rice crust serve as delightful accents, making it a dish I would definitely order again. Thank you for the feast!

A friend suggested we go drinking in Akihabara, so I searched and made a reservation at this restaurant. It was hard to find a place that accepted reservations starting at 4 pm, so I was relieved when I managed to book a table here. It's located down a street off the Showa-dori, just across from Yodobashi. Next to a ramen shop, I was seated at the counter and ordered a beer. We started with a sashimi platter and grilled nodoguro, which were reasonably priced at 2600 yen. We also ordered fried tochigi-age and white shrimp tempura. I ordered a Chita highball and a bottle of Sato's white wine to share. The sashimi was delicious, with varieties like bonito, amberjack, golden eye snapper, scallop, nodoguro, and marinated fish, all very tasty. The grilled nodoguro was also excellent. I wish I had known about this place sooner. It's a cozy spot where you can enjoy good drinks and snacks without any worries.

As someone who grew up in the Seto Inland Sea region, I haven't had much experience with nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch) before. But since I love fish, I was curious to try it, so I went to the specialty restaurant called Hassen with a friend who also loves sake. My friend is very knowledgeable about sake, and we were both surprised by the high-quality sake available for all-you-can-drink. Although we couldn't try all the options, we mainly focused on dry sake. I personally really liked the Shimotsuru sake. The delicious fish and dishes paired perfectly with the sake. The nodoguro had a rich flavor with hardly any fishy taste, making it easy to eat. The shrimp shinjo tempura was also delicious. I've become a fan and would love to go back to try other nodoguro dishes.

Today we had the following: ✅ Appetizer: Tai (sea bream) skin with ponzu sauce. The appetizer was incredibly delicious! The texture of the tai skin and the yuzu flavor were amazing. The jelly-like part was also delicious. It set high expectations for the rest of the meal. ✅ Assorted sashimi plate: The presentation was beautiful, including tuna, golden eye snapper, blackthroat seaperch, tai with kelp, amberjack, and scallop, all starting from 1600 yen (for 2 people). It was luxurious yet surprisingly affordable. I tried blackthroat seaperch sashimi for the first time and it was delicious. ✅ Simmered blackthroat seaperch: The simmering sauce was perfectly balanced, not too sweet or too spicy. I wanted to pour plenty of the sauce on it and even asked for a spoon to do so. The tofu was also a nice touch. ✅ Grilled blackthroat seaperch with salt: It was incredibly tender and delicate in flavor despite its large size. The skin was crispy while the inside was fluffy. ✅ Salmon and salmon roe clay pot rice: It takes about 30 minutes to cook, so if you want to try it, it's best to order it as soon as you arrive at the restaurant. The shiny clay pot rice with plenty of salmon and salmon roe was perfectly cooked, not too hard or too soft. ✅ Yatsen rare cheesecake daifuku: This visually stunning daifuku came with dry ice. With salt on the side, I enjoyed the rare cheesecake as it was at first, then tried it with salt for a sweet and salty experience. ✅ Tomato salt sour, sake, Yatsen Yokohama cider (bottle): The high-quality blackthroat seaperch was delicious and reasonably priced. I wanted to try the liver dishes as well, but I was too full. I definitely want to go back. The restaurant is located on the wide street across from Mitsui Memorial Hospital, not on the address listed on Tabelog, so make sure to find the right location.

The throat is delicious, isn't it? I have been curious about a restaurant where you can enjoy a variety of throat dishes. The restaurant had private rooms with curtains and counter seats. This time, we were seated at the counter. The appetizer was "shinjo wrapped in shiso leaves," which was fluffy and soft with a strong flavor of shiso. What we ordered: - Assorted sashimi platter - Grilled throat with salt - Throat simmered in soy sauce - Throat spring rolls - Salmon and salmon roe clay pot rice The assorted sashimi platter included throat, golden eye snapper, scallops, yellowtail, and tuna. I enjoyed all of them as I love sashimi. The grilled throat with salt had a perfect appearance with crispy skin and tender meat. It was a masterpiece of craftsmanship. The simmered throat was a sweet and flavorful dish, with tender meat. The throat spring rolls were unique and delicious. The salmon and salmon roe clay pot rice was a generous portion with plenty of salmon and roe. We each had about 3 servings, and it was very satisfying. We ordered oolong tea and a melon soda, which came in a black cup making it a sweet dessert-like treat. There were regular customers at the counter seats, making it a cozy place to visit again and again.

Yasen, a specialty store for nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch), is located about a 4-minute walk from Akihabara Station! I visited on a weekday around 5 pm, and the place gradually filled up with customers. The interior has counter seats, semi-private rooms, and table seats. Ebisu Beer (605 yen) was the first drink to start the meal. The creamy texture of the beer really stimulated the appetite. The appetizer served was "Manjo Daio Leaf Roll," which was a refreshing and delicious start to the meal. The highlight was the "Premium Sashimi Assortment" which included maguro, kinmedai, seared nodoguro, kanpachi, sumiika, and scallop. The nodoguro had a rich fatty taste, known as the "white tuna," and it was truly amazing. The kinmedai had a light and delicate flavor, while the seared maguro had a unique crispy texture. The kanpachi had a melt-in-your-mouth texture, the sumiika was sweet and flavorful, and the scallop paired perfectly with lemon. The variety of flavors and textures was truly impressive. The meal was complemented with a refreshing mountain boar shochu highball. The nodoguro salt-grilled dish was incredibly flavorful and satisfying. The nodoguro simmered dish was sweet and savory, with tender nodoguro and tofu that melted in the mouth. The meal ended with a nodoguro shabu-shabu dish, where the nodoguro was cooked in a flavorful broth. The experience was truly indulgent and enjoyable.

Located in Akihabara, the specialty restaurant "Hassen" offers high-quality fish, especially the throat of the fish, at reasonable prices. The interior of the restaurant has a warm and cozy atmosphere with wooden tones. You can enjoy watching the live cooking at the L-shaped counter. The restaurant's specialty throat fish is delivered directly from the Itoigawa fishing port in Niigata prefecture, ensuring freshness. They offer the throat fish prepared in three different cooking methods. With a variety of dishes such as sashimi, grilled fish, and simmered fish, you can enjoy the throat fish in various ways. They also have a wide selection of sake, shochu, and whiskey, with over 40 different types available. For starters, they serve a throat fish shinjo wrapped in shiso leaves, which has a fluffy texture and a nice shiso aroma. The sashimi platter includes five types of fish, all fresh and delicious, especially the throat fish sashimi which is fatty and slightly seared, enhancing its flavor. The best season for throat fish, which is around until September when the spawning period ends, is considered the most delicious time. The grilled throat fish has a crispy skin and tender flesh with a rich taste. The simmered throat fish in homemade sauce is sweet and flavorful, complementing the throat fish perfectly. The spring roll with throat fish is crispy and delicious, served with throat fish broth salt. The salmon and salmon roe clay pot rice takes about 20-30 minutes to cook but is worth the wait with its generous portions and flavorful combination. To end the meal, try the adult melon soda served in a black cup, a unique twist on the classic drink. Hassen offers not only throat fish dishes but also seasonal dishes using fresh ingredients, providing a variety of options for diners to enjoy. Open until 25:00 on weekdays, it is a great choice for a second or third stop for those looking to continue their night out.

It is easier to set a nearby elementary school on Google Maps to find this place, as it is located in a very quiet area. It's a hidden gem that I almost don't want to tell anyone about, such a wonderful restaurant. It's a counter-style restaurant, and this time I enjoyed the course meal. It was nice how they brought out the dishes just as we finished each one. We started with a toast with beer! We also had some wine in between, but white wine definitely goes well with fish ♡ Appetizers: - Tilefish bone crackers - Conger eel roe with kelp - Sesame tofu The crispy texture of the bone crackers is irresistible! It's addictive. Sashimi: - Tuna - Tilefish - Conger eel The texture of the sashimi was amazing! It was so delicious ♡ Tilefish: - Simmered & grilled with salt The head was simmered, and the tail was grilled with salt, and they come together as one fish in a wonderful story. Both were delicious! Wagyu Sukiyaki: The meat was very tender and delicious! It warmed my heart with this warm dish. Tempura assortment: We had a crispy and delicious assortment of tempura! We enjoyed it with special salt and tempura dipping sauce. Sushi: - Scallop - Firefly squid - Tilefish The sushi was delicious! We also had some clear soup which was comforting and had a gentle flavor. Warabi mochi dessert: The dessert was also very delicious! It was a meal full of happiness. I would love to visit this wonderful restaurant in the outskirts of Akihabara again.

I went to a calm restaurant in Akihabara and indulged in a luxurious meal of nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch)! The dishes I ordered were: assorted sashimi, simmered nodoguro (one piece), salt-grilled nodoguro (one piece), charcoal-grilled Ooyama chicken, and nodoguro rice bowl. Everything was delicious, but my favorite was the simmered nodoguro. The rich and sweet-savory sauce soaked in perfectly, pairing well with rice and sake. The salt-grilled nodoguro had crispy skin and tender flesh, with a strong salty flavor and a hint of the sweet richness of nodoguro's fatty meat. Located slightly away from the hustle and bustle of Akihabara, this cozy restaurant offers exquisite food and drinks. It exudes a sense of luxury and comfort, with private rooms making it suitable for business entertainment as well.

I heard that there is a specialty restaurant for nodoguro in Akihabara, so I visited it right away. The exterior looks luxurious from the outside. Inside, there are counter seats, like a sushi restaurant. I opted for the supreme 13,000 yen course. First, I had shiso leaf salad with hagfish roe (kombu-shime), cheese-wrapped chicken breast rolls, which had a beautiful purple color. The hagfish roe was something I tried for the first time and it tasted like ikura. I was happy to have the cheese-wrapped chicken breast rolls as I love cheese. The sashimi platter included nodoguro seared (from Itoigawa), hagfish, yellowtail, and tuna sashimi. The sashimi was thick and melted in my mouth. The seared nodoguro had a good aroma and the juicy fat and umami were delicious. The simmered and salt-grilled nodoguro were both tender and the concentrated umami from the fatty parts was irresistible. The Wagyu sukiyaki with grated egg yolk was refreshing. The tempura of conger eel and shrimp shinjo was crispy and delicious. The nodoguro bone senbei and nodoguro liver paste were great snacks. The nodoguro soup was gentle and tasty. The sushi platter included kanpachi, sumiika, and seared nodoguro sushi, which had a rich fatty flavor. The dessert was baked ice cream, which had a meringue top and vanilla ice cream inside. It was flambéed with whiskey. The Eight Immortals mochi was also delicious. I had Sapporo Ebisu beer and lemon sour for drinks. The beauty of nodoguro was amazing, and I would like to visit the restaurant again because the atmosphere was calm and nice.

Recently, I have noticed an increase in "nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch) cuisine specialty shops." I heard that a shop has opened in Akihabara, so I decided to visit "Hassen Akihabara" on my way home from work! Nodoguro has been a personal favorite of mine lately. The nearest station is technically Akihabara Station, but it is closer to Asakusabashi. The clientele is different from the young image of Akihabara, and it is a calm space where adults can enjoy their meal. I first quenched my thirst with a mirin sour after walking in the heat. The indescribable sweetness of mirin really soothes my tired body. The appetizer was an elegant simmered kogori (baby sardine). The rich flavor is condensed and delicious! The assorted sashimi was impressive with a variety of options. The lightly boiled conger eel with plum sauce was refreshing and firm. The tuna, scallops, sea bream, and amberjack all had a fresh and firm texture. And the seared nodoguro with salt was amazing, it melted in my mouth with a rich flavor. The long-awaited "simmered nodoguro" was served next. It was tender and flavorful, with the taste soaked in perfectly. Despite expecting a strong flavor, the balance was exquisite. Salt-grilled nodoguro is good, but the simmered version is also delicious. I switched to sake at this point and tried the Aomori sake "Hassen," which is also in the name of the restaurant. I heard that the owner is from Aomori. Since I still had some room in my stomach, I ordered a light snack. The unusual "nodoguro liver paste (with crackers)" was like a nodoguro version of liver paste, and it was incredibly delicious! It had the right amount of saltiness, and you could taste the richness and flavor of the nodoguro. I thoroughly enjoyed the sashimi, simmered dish, and unique dishes with nodoguro. There are still many dishes I am curious about, so I will definitely revisit! Next time, I must try the salt-grilled nodoguro! In addition to the counter seats, there are also box-type table seats, making it suitable for a relaxed gathering with a date or friends. I am sharing gourmet information on Instagram! Follow me @yumikohappylife.

☆Recommended Points☆ ① Enjoy high-quality tuna in various cooking methods such as sashimi, grilled, and simmered. ② The calm Japanese-style atmosphere is suitable for entertaining clients or having business meals. [Recommended Usage Scenes] Dates, hanging out with friends/acquaintances/coworkers, entertaining clients, business meals, welcome/farewell parties. [Images 1-2] "Tuna simmered in soy sauce" and "Grilled tuna with salt" The specialty tuna can be ordered per piece. This time, we ordered one piece and had it prepared in two different ways. The simmered tuna had a sweet and savory sauce that soaked into the meat, with a rich layer of fat. The fat gradually melted into the sauce, enhancing the richness. The grilled tuna had a crispy skin and tender meat. It had a stronger saltiness compared to the simmered one, allowing the natural sweetness of the tuna's fat to stand out. Personally, I preferred the grilled version. [Images 3-5] "Premium sashimi assortment (from 1,760 yen per person)" You can order two types of sashimi assortments, and we opted for the higher-tier one. It included boiled conger eel with plum, lemon-marinated sea bass, seared tuna, scallops, tuna, and kelp-marinated sea bream. The sea bass with lemon had a refreshing taste and firm texture. The seared tuna was incredibly rich in fat and flavor. It was a unique experience to taste such fatty fish in sashimi form. [Image 6] "Eight Immortals' Tuna and Egg Rice Bowl (1,650 yen)" A luxurious rice bowl with a large egg yolk and plenty of seared tuna on top. The rich flavor and aroma of the tuna paired perfectly with the sweetness of the egg yolk. It was addictive and incredibly delicious. [Image 7] "Eight Immortals' Giant Shrimp Fritter (990 yen)" Recommended by the staff, this dish featured a large shrimp fritter that was incredibly juicy and flavorful. It was a perfect accompaniment to sake and hard to resist. [Image 8] "Mackerel Roe Aged for 30 Days (1,620 yen)" We were intrigued by the menu name and ordered this dish, which featured mackerel roe aged for 30 days. The roe had a deep and intense flavor, perfect for pairing with sake. [Summary] Located between Showa Street and Kiyosu Bridge Street, just a short walk from Akihabara Station's Showa Exit, is the "Eight Immortals Tuna Specialty Store Akihabara Branch." This relatively new establishment, opened in July 2022 in a former sushi izakaya, offers a unique selection of high-quality tuna dishes, including sashimi, grilled, and simmered options. The restaurant features a counter, semi-private rooms, and fully private rooms for a relaxed and refined dining experience. It is a great choice for those looking to enjoy premium tuna in a traditional Japanese setting.

I visited Hassen, a specialist restaurant for blackthroat seaperch in Akihabara! We started with a Tomato Salt Sour for a toast. This place offers various ways to enjoy blackthroat seaperch, and you can even use it for business meetings as it has an elegant atmosphere with private rooms available! I indulged in half boiled blackthroat seaperch and half salt-grilled blackthroat seaperch, which was absolutely luxurious. The richness of the blackthroat seaperch was so flavorful and juicy! The salt-grilled one had a crispy skin with a fluffy flesh that was amazing. The sashimi assortment was beautifully presented with sea bass, lemon-soaked sea bream, blackthroat seaperch, tuna, sea bream with kelp, and scallops in soy sauce. It was delightful to have the option to enjoy them with salt as well. The blackthroat seaperch was so fatty and melted in the mouth, making it irresistible. The seasonal sea bream was a nice addition! The Mutsu Hassen, a cute pink-labeled sake, was a perfect match for the savory dishes. The shrimp shinjo was large and fluffy. For the finale, I had the luxurious blackthroat seaperch rice bowl, which was undeniably delicious. Be sure to be careful with the directions when going there as it is located along a wide road, and many people tend to get lost using Google Maps (I was one of them). I was completely satisfied with being able to enjoy the blackthroat seaperch to the fullest. Thank you for the wonderful meal! Items received: Boiled blackthroat seaperch, Salt-grilled blackthroat seaperch, Sashimi assortment, Mutsu Hassen, Blackthroat seaperch rice bowl, and Shrimp shinjo from Hassen.

Indulge in a feast of blackthroat seaperch! Sashimi, salt-grilled, simmered, sushi, soup, and even tempura and sukiyaki are included in the exquisite course meal "Akamutsu no Utage." It truly is the pinnacle of Japanese cuisine. And the best part? It's all-you-can-drink for 3 hours at just 10,000 yen. The upscale Japanese ambiance of the restaurant, with a large counter seat where you can watch the skilled chef grilling the blackthroat seaperch, is a sight to behold. The interior exudes a warm wooden feel with a main counter seat and private rooms at the back. The feast begins with the restaurant's signature three cheese sasami rolls, gold needle grass ohitashi, and simmered zenmai. The gold needle grass ohitashi from the Kaga region in Ishikawa Prefecture is a delicacy not to be missed. Pair it with a cold beer and you're all set. Next up is the premium sashimi selection of maguro, hamo, and blackthroat seaperch. The luxurious blackthroat seaperch from the Sea of Japan steals the show. Followed by salt-grilled and simmered blackthroat seaperch, it's a delight to savor both dishes. The wagyu sukiyaki is unexpectedly served, and despite its generous portion, it's devoured in no time. The tempura of shrimp shinjo and seasonal vegetables is a crispy delight, especially when paired with hot sake. The sushi and soup course features, once again, the amazing blackthroat seaperch. And to end the meal, a dessert centered around the blackthroat seaperch. This high-spec Japanese cuisine rush is a culinary experience like no other. The friendly and enjoyable atmosphere created by the staff adds to the overall dining pleasure. Next time, I'll opt for the counter seat. All in all, it's a delightful experience at Hassen, enjoying delicious food and drinks to the fullest.
