Located just a 1-minute walk from Ueno-hirokoji Station, right in front of the C3 exit of the Ueno Central Street underground walkway, on the 9th floor of Actiole Ueno, is Tori-gashima, a specialty chicken restaurant where you can also enjoy fish and seafood directly delivered from Yaizu. It's a completely private dining bar with easy access from JR Ueno Station, Okachimachi Station, Ueno-Okachimachi Station on the Oedo Line, and Yushima Station on the Chiyoda Line. I was taken there by a friend. Although it is a chicken specialty store, you can also enjoy horse meat and seafood. We were guided to a spacious private room and started with a toast with draft beer. They also offer draft beer and sake, and there is even a great deal of all-you-can-drink for 2 hours for only 1,000 yen! We had the 2.5-hour all-you-can-drink course for 3,300 yen (tax included), which includes: - [Appetizer] Edamame, homemade kimchi, salted cabbage - [Seasonal dish] Organic vegetable salad - [Fried dish] Crispy potato fries - [Specialty dish] Aged chicken fried with aromatic flavor - [Grilled dish] Assorted grilled skewers - [Finishing dish] Cold udon noodles - [Dessert] Today's dessert - elegant adult sweetness Potato fries, aged chicken fried with aromatic flavor, and assorted grilled skewers are all-you-can-eat! The assorted grilled skewers include tail, thigh, gizzard, skin, all perfectly seasoned. The cold udon noodles have a nice firmness and a flavorful broth. And for dessert, there's matcha roll cake, rare cheesecake, waffles, and a variety of desserts. All this for 3,300 yen (tax included) for all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink is amazing! The 3-hour all-you-can-drink option for 1500 yen is great, and the grilled black pork tongue, chicken nanban, avocado sashimi, octopus with wasabi, assorted pickles, Agro and avocado delicious salad, fried chicken bones, all tasted delicious. The night view from the 9th floor is stunning. The chicken nanban was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, with a generous portion. The assorted pickles included cucumber, takuan, white radish, and 4 other types. The octopus with wasabi was served in a large portion, almost three times the normal amount. Personally, I think that slicing avocado and dipping it in wasabi soy sauce and wrapping it in seaweed is the best way to enjoy it. Overall, the avocado sashimi was the best.

The restaurant is located along a main street, making it easy to find without getting lost. [Interior] Table seating with many private rooms, providing a sense of security in these times. We had a table by the window, allowing us to enjoy the night view while dining. [Order] Cheers with a highball! Drinks were brought promptly after ordering, which was great. The appetizer was salted cabbage with sauce and nuts on top, adding a nice touch. Our order included: - Tomato with black pepper and grated daikon on cold tofu - French fries - Satsuma local chicken meatball - Specialty! Stir-fried tuna with leeks - Fried chicken cartilage - Pregnant shishamo fish - Hakata bite-sized dumplings - Rare cheesecake All dishes paired well with alcohol. The fried chicken cartilage had both cartilage and meat, providing a satisfying crunch. The seasoning on the coating was excellent! We ordered the chicken meatball as the restaurant is known for chicken dishes. It was a perfect size and had a nice crunchy texture from the cartilage. Fluffy and delicious! After work, I went out for a drink. It's located on the 9th floor of a building right after exiting the C3 exit of the Ueno Central Street underground walkway, heading towards Ueno from the Ueno Hirokoji intersection. It's a completely private izakaya, which is much appreciated in these times. The seating style is not a fully enclosed private room with a door, but rather using roll curtains to separate the seats, maintaining a good distance from the neighboring tables. We were lucky to be seated by the window, enjoying the night view. We toasted with Premium Malt beer and tried various dishes that caught our eye. The garlic chips served as an appetizer were addictive, especially the cabbage. The tuna with plenty of green onions wrapped around it was flavorful and satisfying. The garlic fried chicken wings were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, especially refreshing when squeezed with lemon. The lotus root chips were a generous portion and irresistible as a snack. The wedge-cut potato fries with mentaiko sauce and cheese were a must-order, absolutely delicious. The domestic beef harami steak was served on a hot plate, topped with plenty of grated radish and enjoyed with sauce. For dessert, we couldn't resist the warabi mochi with matcha ice cream and black honey. Despite being full, we always have room for something sweet. The variety of highball choices was impressive, from Maker's Craft Highball to Suntory Chita and Hakushu. Finally, I tried the refreshing SUI soda highball that I had been curious about. Each drink was served in its own original glass, making the experience even better. I ended up drinking too much, but it was all worth it.

This particular izakaya is located on the 9th floor of a building with windows, offering a great view. The interior has private rooms, and the room we were seated in was cozy with a nice view of the evening sky while enjoying a beer. The menu offers a variety of dishes with pork, beef, and chicken, all generously portioned and well-prepared. The complimentary raw cabbage with nut-like toppings was a delightful surprise. The pork shabu salad with sesame dressing, corn, and tomatoes was colorful and delicious. The fried chicken wings with sweet and savory sauce, topped with a refreshing squeeze of lemon, were tender and flavorful. The lotus root chips, served with mayo and shichimi, had a crispy texture and a tantalizing aroma of oil. The rolled omelette was a soft and pudding-like type, which might be a matter of personal preference. The harami steak was expertly cooked, with no hint of gaminess and a satisfying chew. It paired well with red wine. For a finale, we had the Hakata-style grilled ramen, with charred champon noodles in a pork bone soup that was smooth and perfect for finishing off the meal. The staff, mostly foreigners, spoke excellent Japanese, were attentive, and greeted us warmly. Unfortunately, many izakayas in Ueno lack this level of service, so this place is a convenient spot to drop by after work for drinks.

Casually enjoying some drinks and delicious izakaya menu while catching up with friends. The place we visited was "Torikashima Ueno Branch", located on the 9th floor of a building near JR/Okachimachi or Hibiya Line/Naka-Okachimachi or Oedo Line/Ueno-Okachimachi station. The entire floor is dedicated to "Torikashima" and all rooms are private, making it a relaxing and spacious environment. We arrived at 6 pm, so it was still bright outside, and the window-side private rooms had a great view and felt open. We started with a Chita highball to cheers for a job well done. While the restaurant specializes in local chicken dishes, they also offer a wide range of other menu items that are delicious. We only ordered one chicken dish and requested other items we wanted to try. The appetizer was a generous portion of "Chicken Skin with Ponzu Sauce", which was refreshing, tender, not too fatty, and a great accompaniment to drinks. It was hot outside, so we started with light and refreshing dishes. First, we had the classic "Tataki Cucumber", followed by "Avocado and Prosciutto Italian Salad" and "Seasonal Sashimi Platter" with Bonito Tataki, Salmon, Tuna, Scallop, and Octopus. The sashimi was thick-cut and satisfying. I then had a Hakushu highball. The "Grilled Scallops with Butter" came in foil with plenty of scallops and a delightful aroma of butter soy sauce. It was tender, and with each bite, the umami flavor of scallops spread in the mouth. The "Potato with Spicy Cod Roe and Cheese" was served next. Finally, we ordered the chicken dish, "Garlic Chicken Wings", which were crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and addictive with the spicy garlic seasoning. For a healthier option, we also had the "Pork Shabu Salad", which was as satisfying as the Italian salad we had earlier. We skipped dessert and kept the drinks to two, feeling refreshed and satisfied. With a variety of dishes and generous portions, the restaurant offers great value for money. Family trip to the National Museum of Nature and Science in Ueno. After enjoying the museum until evening, we found a local chicken specialty restaurant called Tori Ga Shima Ueno Store on our way to Yushima Tenjin. The restaurant is located on the 9th floor of the Softbank building, right next to ABAB, and is open from 4:00 pm. Despite being a chicken specialty restaurant, they also offer fresh seafood and even horse sashimi! First, we tried the horse sashimi from Kumamoto for 890 yen, which was not only reasonably priced but also had a generous portion. It was delightful! We also tried the horse sashimi yukke, which was incredibly delicious. The dashimaki tamago (Japanese rolled omelette) was fluffy and had a nostalgic flavor. The potato fries were simple and tasty with a crispy and hot texture. The assorted skewers included sand liver, chicken skin, bonjiri, and back meat, with the back meat and bonjiri being particularly juicy and delicious. The tsukune (chicken meatballs) were a favorite of our son and were incredibly tasty. The Satsuma chicken tataki yakitori was another recommended dish, with a crispy skin and juicy meat that was enhanced by the soy sauce-based seasoning. The butter-grilled scallops were plump and delicious. The Akashi-style fried takoyaki exceeded our expectations, with a crispy exterior and a creamy interior. We also enjoyed the variety of desserts, including warabi mochi with matcha ice cream, hotcakes, and chocolate warabi mochi. The most popular dessert was the mini hotcakes, which were just the right amount of sweetness and a perfect way to end the meal. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes at reasonable prices, making it a great option for those looking for a satisfying meal.

I was lured in by the information that they provide alcohol and have private rooms in Ueno. There are many partitioned private rooms. We were seated by the window on the 9th floor and enjoyed the sunset in Ueno. - Smashed Cucumber: $4.90 - Refreshing and great value for money! - Scallop Butter Yaki: $8.90 - 4-5 pieces included, delicious with butter soy sauce. - Black Pork Tender Angle Cooked: $7.90 - Has a western vibe, easy to eat bite-sized pieces. - Avocado and Prosciutto Italian Salad: $8.90 - Well-balanced salad with great ingredients. - Potato Mentaiko Cheese Grilled: $8.20 - Uniquely delicious, thick potato with plenty of melting cheese. - Seasonal Five-Point Assortment: $19.80 - Fresh seafood from Yaizu Port, included bonito, salmon, octopus, tuna, scallop. - Lotus Root Chips: $5.90 - Crispy and delicious. - Grilled Stingray Fin: $5.80 - Plenty of firm texture and great chewiness. - Warabi Mochi and Matcha Ice Cream with Black Honey: $6.80 - The warabi mochi was frozen and the ice cream melted too quickly, but the taste was good. I made a reservation for a private room but unfortunately was not seated there. I felt that the drinks and food were served slowly. When I ordered the assorted chicken skewers, three of them were just chicken skin. The salt was also overdone, making it too salty for my taste. I found the portion size to be small for the price. Overall, I was disappointed with both the food and service. I will not be going back again.

I used this restaurant for a meal with two people. To be honest, the quality of the food is low. The tsukune skewers were tasty, but the edamame, rolled omelette, and appetizer (chicken skin with ponzu) were small and had a frozen feel to them. What bothered me the most was that some of the staff were in casual clothes when taking orders. While some were in uniforms, I found it inappropriate for staff to be in casual clothes. The all-you-can-drink menu may offer good value, but I believe the other dishes and services are lacking. I thought this was a place more suitable for students.

The food was delicious with a wide variety of options. There are plenty of choices so you won't get bored and can enjoy your meal. It's great for both small and large groups. The drinks selection is good, with a variety of options. The atmosphere is just right, not too loud or too quiet. It's a comfortable place to hang out. In terms of value for money, it's decent, though there may be better options out there. The service is friendly, efficient, and makes you want to come back. I've been here 7 times and this is my first review. I highly recommend giving it a try!

The food never came out. The portions were small, which was the worst! I will never go back. There weren't enough staff and they were not attentive. It was very expensive, 15,000 yen for three people with all-you-can-drink. Even though individual items were cheap, it was hard to get change and the food took a long time to come out. On top of that, the restaurant was dirty. I wish I could give it 0 points, but since that's not possible, it's a one or below.

I think the yakitori was undercooked. The drinks were not cold at all. The staff were Chinese and the service was not great. The restaurant is located in a new building, so it is clean and modern. It might be suitable for group gatherings like a mixer.

I visited the restaurant during Golden Week. They offer a course with all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink for 3000 yen, including fried chicken, chicken nanban, and charcoal-grilled dishes. However, the drinks with sour mixers had hardly any ice in them. I wonder if their refrigerator is broken. The staff members' attitudes varied greatly. In terms of cost performance, the all-you-can-eat option is good. The food was decently tasty, but I realized I can't eat too much chicken. I don't feel like eating chicken for a while after this experience.
