Visited on a Saturday in July 2021 at 12:50. Ueno Zoo is now by reservation only, limiting the number of visitors, so except for the Panda Zone, it's not crowded. Feeling a bit peckish, I purchased the following:
- Fried Potatoes (300 yen): The portion size is great, always served fresh, and highly recommended within the zoo. The potatoes are fluffy and flavorful, with the salt enhancing the taste. With many places in the zoo offering less value for money, this spot is handy for a quick snack. Thank you for the meal.

This shop was not introduced anywhere as a shop in Ueno Zoo, so I had a hard time finding it. They don't give you a receipt, that's probably why. I found it by seeing a picture of "Komatsu Soft" in the shop. I wonder why it's not introduced on the official Ueno Zoo website. Anyway, my daughter and I were hungry, so we tried their soft serve ice cream. It was irresistible, delicious, refreshing and creamy. The French fries were not too salty, which was nice. When you dip the fries in the soft serve ice cream, it's a great combination. There are plenty of benches in front of the shop where you can relax. I wonder if there's a reason why the soft serve and fries are paid for separately, it's a bit inconvenient.

I came to Ueno Zoo to see the baby panda (*˙︶˙*)ノ゙ But unfortunately, the baby panda is not visible......(´×ω×`) The only panda that can be seen is sleeping with its back turned......I can hardly tell what's going on (;´༎ຶٹ༎ຶ`) Carrying a 6.3kg child around is heavy......(´×ω×`) The temperature is high and it's hot, so I wanted something cold......But the gelato was sold out......I bought a Super Vanilla Soft Serve with 8% milk fat for 350 yen٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و It's really rich, like licking butter, so rich that it's hard to tell if it's delicious or not......(;`・ω・´) Thank you for the meal (*˙︶˙*)ノ゙

This is a shop located in front of the Dolls at the East Garden of Ueno Zoo. Unlike other shops in the zoo managed by the Zoo Association, this shop seems to be independently owned. It is located at a crossroads where paths from various directions intersect, so it is quite popular. Birds like sparrows and pigeons gather around looking for scraps. Even in winter, this shop is the only one in the park that sells soft serve ice cream, and it sells quite well. I bought some potato fries. They came in a palm-sized cup, piled high. They were thick and soft, like the typical fries you would find at a snack corner. They weren't too greasy and were quite delicious.
