It seems that the adoption of technology varies depending on the customer base in the area. It's interesting to see how Japan's IT and its level of adoption can be observed at McDonald's.

There is a McDonald's located about a 2-minute walk from Ogawa Station. They have a touch screen order machine which I saw for the first time, it's convenient. You take an order ticket beforehand and input it into the machine. Don't forget to do so. Well, I only had a vanilla milkshake.

After lunch, I still wanted a little something to eat, so I came here. I used the touch panel on the right to select the menu, hoping to get the limited-time beef stew pie, but it was sold out. So, I went for the limited-time triangle chocolate pie black (140 yen) instead. I also ordered a premium roast coffee S (100 yen). I chose to pick up my order at the counter. I paid with a credit card or electronic money. After a short wait, I received my tray and went up to the 2nd floor. Despite looking narrow from the outside, the 2nd floor was surprisingly spacious. The atmosphere was calm for a McDonald's. I sat at a table in the back and enjoyed the triangle chocolate pie. The sweet, gooey chocolate paired perfectly with the coffee. After finishing the pie and the coffee, my lunchtime was over.

However, there was not much turnover of customers, so unfortunately, the Filet-O-Fish and fries were cold. It was the first time I didn't find the Filet-O-Fish and fries tasty. The cherry blossom mochi pie costs 150 yen and up. It is filled with a gentle sweet red bean paste and soft cherry blossom-flavored mochi wrapped in a crispy pie crust. The cherry blossom-flavored mochi uses salted cherry blossom leaves for an authentic taste. The gentle sweetness of the red bean paste complements the cherry blossom mochi. As a fan of cherry blossom mochi, I was completely satisfied with this pie. Overall, I don't usually eat McDonald's pies, so I can't compare, but personally, this was a big hit!

I stopped by to try the Chicken Tatsuta morning set for 540 yen (using a coupon). I was surprised they offer Chicken Tatsuta in the morning! Even with the coupon, it was still over 500 yen, but that's okay. The steamed buns were fluffy with a ginger-flavored Tatsuta patty. The combination of the spicy mayo sauce and shredded cabbage was nice. I wish there was a bit more cabbage though. It had been a while since I had Chicken Tatsuta, but it was not bad at all. I heard they also offer a version with rice in the evening, which I'm curious about.

Now, it's a restaurant called Niku Ankake Chahan Chao O that has taken its place. It was popular among both office workers and students from Kanda Foreign Language School, but for some reason, McDonald's disappeared. Not just McDonald's, Lotteria also disappeared, as did First Kitchen and Burger King. I thought that burger joints couldn't survive in office districts, but for some reason, a McDonald's opened in Ogawamachi after Golden Week. It's been about 15 years since I had lunch at McDonald's in Nishiguchi Shotengai when I was in my late 20s, so it was a nostalgic experience for me.
