The all-you-can-eat option was priced at 2,150 yen, but if you added the all-you-can-drink option for an extra 1,000 yen, it was a good deal at 3,150 yen. There weren't many variations of pizzas, it felt like there used to be more options in the past. I wonder if they are intentionally reducing the variety to cut costs or if the staff lacks the skills. There were not enough staff members and the salad was always running low. However, they were always quick to make the drinks for the all-you-can-drink option. The pizza buffet costs 1,680 yen on weekdays, but during the Obon period, it's 470 yen more expensive on weekends and holidays, totaling 2,150 yen. I didn't hesitate to add the all-you-can-drink beer bar for an additional 500 yen. Two hours of unlimited pizza and beer at this price point is a great deal. Back when I was a student, the all-you-can-eat option was only for pizza and those spicy fried potatoes, and drinks were charged separately. The salad bar was also an additional charge for one serving only. But now, in addition to pizza and potatoes, you can have unlimited salad, pasta, curry, dessert, and a drink bar. There are even plain fried potatoes in addition to the spicy ones, and the hot sauce selection has expanded to include three types of habanero sauce. However, being a man of the Showa era who was satisfied with pizza and fried potatoes in his youth, I vowed to stick to just those two. Despite the approaching typhoon and the humid weather, the best part was the all-you-can-drink beer bar. The Kirin beer series offers Ichiban Shibori, which you can pour unlimitedly for just 500 yen for two hours. So, while enjoying the refreshing beer, I indulged in the temptation of macaroni and cheese and nachos next to the potatoes, and ended up piling them on my plate. In the end, I had four glasses of beer, three plates of pizza and potatoes, macaroni and cheese, nachos, and for dessert, a chocolate banana pizza and raspberry mousse. When I arrived, I thought it looked smaller than I remembered, maybe my memory was mixed up with Ikebukuro. The university student discount was great, so I went as a student. Plus, all-you-can-drink beer for 500 yen! I ordered it and spent a total of 2000 yen. I was excited to go, but I can't eat much due to my slow metabolism. I tried various thin slices of pizza and enjoyed them. It had that Shakey's taste. There were sweet potatoes, nachos that I saw for the first time, and potage soup, giving it an izakaya-like feel. The salad bar was included, which was nice. The pasta changed after some time, from 2 types to different ones. The restaurant had a decent amount of customers, mostly couples and families. There were some people who seemed a bit scary, dashing to get their food and muttering to themselves on the way back. I wonder if I'm like that too, even though I haven't said a word to anyone. The trend seems to be that young people don't spend much money, so all-you-can-eat pizza isn't popular, and all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu in suburban areas is more in demand. However, the staff were amazing. They were working hard to ensure that everyone, including the students, had a good time. They helped coordinate the timing for the students to get their food, and even asked us what pizza we wanted so they could prepare it for us. The pizza, pasta, and potato dishes were nostalgic and delicious, especially the thin and crispy pizza crust. It was a great experience overall.

Among the three locations I visited in Ikebukuro, Shinjuku, and Shibuya, it gave me the most kid-friendly impression. Each store seems to have a slightly different menu policy, with a general tendency towards sweet flavors and childlike seasonings like mayonnaise. The menus in April and May featured many dishes using eggs for Easter. I felt like I may not be the target customer for this place.

After many tens of thousands of years, I went to Shakey's for a children's recital celebration. I used to go to the Ikebukuro branch a lot when I was a child. This was my first time at the Shibuya branch. There were nearly 30 people, including adults and children, but I was able to make a reservation. The place was spacious. It wasn't a private room, but it was a slightly secluded space which was nice. The adult price was higher than the regular all-you-can-eat, and it included various flavored sauces. I didn't really need them, but apparently that's how it is when you make a reservation. Still, it was reasonable at 2000 yen. It also came with a drink bar. We had plenty of salad and classic pizzas like pepperoni and bacon, but I also tried the limited edition green Christmas pizza. It was basil-based and not bad. The first potatoes we had were mushy and not tasty, but later they brought out the flat potatoes that have been around for ages. I love those. Today, I forgot about my low-carb diet and ate to my heart's content. I used to think sweet pizzas were a no-go, but the strawberry and cream one was not too sweet and quite delicious, so I ended up having seconds. The pistachios sprinkled on top were a nice touch. Oh, by the way, I only brought back a slice for others, I only had two slices myself. 😄

It was like a cafe with round pizzas that I had never seen before. Shakey's was also where I experienced all-you-can-eat pizza for the first time. The Shakey's in Shibuya has a great atmosphere. Even though it was all-you-can-eat, people weren't rushing to eat, so I could enjoy my meal leisurely. I would recommend it with a score of 70 points.
