◆La Pause, an Italian restaurant chain that is conveniently located directly connected to Shinjuku Sanchome Station. Although I had seen this restaurant several times in Shinjuku, I had never had the chance to dine there. This time, I had some business nearby, so it was my first time entering the restaurant. The restaurant is located on the 5th floor of Keio Fronte Shinjuku Sanchome Building, directly accessible from the C2 exit of Shinjuku Sanchome Station, making it easy to reach without getting wet in the rain. It is right in front of Shinjuku Isetan across the main street. The lunch set with a choice of pasta starts from an amazing price of ¥760 including tax. Plus, all lunch sets come with a drink bar. Moreover, you can enjoy lunch from 11 am to 5 pm. This makes it very convenient for regular visits. As soon as you enter the restaurant, you will find the drink bar on the right side, which stands out with its neon lights. The interior of the restaurant is stylish, with warm-colored and slightly subdued lighting, and brick interior design throughout. It is quite spacious, which was not apparent from the exterior of the building. The unique interior design gives a foreign atmosphere, offering a little taste of a different world. I was guided to a seat in a separate room behind the door. The room can accommodate about 40 people and has a stylish rounded ceiling. There were Christmas decorations as well. The seats were about 80% full on a Sunday lunchtime. There were many women, and surprisingly, many families with children, making it lively. The waitresses were constantly moving around the restaurant, but there was a call button on the table, making it easy to call the staff even in the private room. ◆The choice of pasta is a great deal and the lunch sets are appealing The restaurant-exclusive hamburger lunch set. With rice and a drink included, at this price?! It reminds me of Saizeriya. There was also a limited-time menu called Spicy Curry Pasta. Additionally, the regular lunch pasta set offers a variety of 8 types of pasta. You can add a mini salad for an additional ¥100, or a dessert for ¥150, which is quite reasonable! You can also upgrade to a large portion of pasta for an extra ¥100 each. This time, I wanted something light and refreshing, so I chose the Clam and Okra Peperoncino from the regular menu. It costs ¥760 (tax included). I wondered if it would be spicy because it had a chili pepper symbol on it. ◆The light saltiness makes it easy to eat The Clam and Okra Peperoncino arrived in about 7 minutes. There was a slightly savory aroma, probably from the clams. You can see a little red here and there. It seems that this is the element of the chili pepper symbol I saw earlier. The light saltiness is delicious! However, the flavor of the clams and the richness make it slightly heavier than it looks. Also, since okra is included, it has a slightly slimy texture compared to regular peperoncino. The okra and clams go well together, making it easy to eat with a smooth texture. I didn't feel much spiciness from the chili pepper this time. If you are not sensitive to spicy food, you can eat it normally. The portion is small, so it is perfect for a light lunch. After eating, I went to the drink bar to get a drink! The ice selection included Calpis, cola, coffee, oolong tea, and other standard options. The hot drink server had a variety of options such as blend coffee, American coffee, cafe latte, cafe mocha, and hot cocoa. There were also packs of tea in the center, including chamomile, jasmine, green apple, among others. I started with a little iced coffee. It was quite strong. Next, I tried a hot cafe mocha. It was like cocoa.
