Today I went to renew my driver's license and on the way back, my companion who works from home requested me to buy from this hamburger chain. The store opened in November 2021. In Japan, when it comes to hamburgers, McDonald's is the most well-known. Compared to that, this chain has lower recognition and fewer stores, but it is famous overseas. The features include grilling the beef patty over an open flame instead of on a griddle, the ability to customize the burger toppings, and offering larger-sized items, with buns and patties bigger than regular hamburgers, sold under the name "Whopper". It is 1.4 times the size of a regular hamburger. The prices are a bit higher. I purchased the following items: Shrimp Whopper for 890 yen, Whopper Cheese for 690 yen, and a 5-piece nugget for 230 yen. The Shrimp Whopper had a beef patty with cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mayonnaise, and ketchup. Of course, there were 4 pieces of shrimp. I tried the nuggets first, they were pretty average. Next, I tried the Shrimp Whopper. It is made to order, and the vegetables are sliced in-store, so the buns were soft, the crispiness of the vegetables, the umami and smokiness of the beef patty were clearly different from other hamburgers I've had before. Especially the beef patty, maybe because it's grilled over an open flame, the meat's flavor is locked in, and the juiciness seeps out as you chew. If I had eaten it fresh in-store instead of takeout, it might have tasted even better. Occasionally, you can feel the texture of the shrimp, but there are only 4 pieces, so they don't have a strong presence. The Whopper Cheese had a rich and delicious cheese flavor. The prices are a bit high, but it was a satisfying burger. Thank you for the meal.
