I went to the Katsushika Kanamachi branch of Kura Sushi with my daughter. We occasionally visit conveyor belt sushi restaurants with children, but this was my first time at Kura Sushi. Using the official Kura Sushi smartphone app, you can make a reservation with a specified time slot starting 15 days in advance, which is very convenient. You can also order from the app, which is great. The total bill of 4,545 yen was a bit higher than I expected. When you make a reservation through the Kura Sushi app and arrive at the restaurant, you input your number at the entrance, receive a receipt with your seat number, and go to your seat. You can order using the app, touch panel in the restaurant, or by taking plates from the conveyor belt. When you leave, you press the touch panel to check out, pay at the self-checkout, and leave. The self-service system is convenient. The restaurant has good infection control measures in place. It can get a bit noisy on weekends, especially with many families with children. The special dishes like seafood battleship sushi and seafood yukhoe tend to come out right after opening. The alcohol selection is not very extensive, with highball served in a small bottle and a plain cup with ice. Lunch sets are not available on weekends. Special menu promotions usually start on Fridays, with plenty of 220 yen dishes on weekends.

Drove to a dog park. Today was a dog park without a pool, so both people and dogs were tired in the scorching sun. At night, without thinking about anything, we went to a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. It had been a while since we went to "Kura". Without much conversation with my beautiful wife, we just ordered sushi on the touch panel and devoured it when it arrived! I won the "Bikkura Pon" game twice! lol

At the reception, each person touches a machine and a paper with an available table number is dispensed, instructing them to go to that table. At the table, you can order using a touch panel and the sushi will be delivered to a dedicated lane. The taste is like the usual Kura Sushi, delicious. After eating 9 plates with my companion, they said they couldn't eat anymore, so we decided to pay. When I tried to get the "surprise plate" that should come every 5 plates, it didn't appear. I pressed the "call staff" button, but no one came. So, I gave up and went to the register. Payment was also easy as we each touched the machine to choose the payment method and answer questions like "Do you have a Rakuten R Point card?" It was surprisingly easy to settle the bill. Oh! I need to deal with the parking ticket. When I asked the staff for help, I was shocked to learn that the parking is only free for purchases over 2000 yen. Since we didn't meet that, I had to pay 400 yen for parking. When I compare the food cost and parking fee, it doesn't sit right with me. This restaurant had many unexpected things, so I'll just consider it as not meant to be.

Visited around 8:00 PM on November 16, 2020. This area used to be where Mitsubishi Paper Mills' Nakagawa Factory was located, but now redevelopment is underway with a park, a university, and apartments. It had been a while since I last visited Kura Sushi. I was grateful for the option to make a reservation in advance through EPARK. Thanks to the reservation, I was able to enter without waiting. As usual, the sushi was made by a machine with rice topped with various ingredients. However, this is also a form of sushi. There were many watery toppings like bincho, but I want to show respect for their management efforts to maintain the price at 100 yen + tax.

The meeting ran long, and a colleague suggested, "Let's go back to Shinbashi together." Without checking the showtimes for my United Cinema member day ticket for 1200 yen, I hopped on the Yurikamome. I've already seen 6 movies, so I need to watch one more to get a free ticket by the end of the month. I checked the showtimes for Kameari MOVIX, but the timing didn't work out. There was a new store I wanted to visit - Kura Sushi. I usually have to wait a long time at Sushiro, with couples and families waiting, so I'm grateful that it opened in a place like Kinshicho. I often go to Hamazushi. The system seems unchanged, but I quickly found my number and went to the farthest counter seat. Where are the wet towels? I found them under the counter, so I grabbed two. Tea, soy sauce, wasabi, spoons, etc. are placed in front of you, but the space is very narrow. There are holes to put plates in. Only sushi plates and small plates fit, and they are counted and displayed on a panel. Asahi Pale Ale for 600 yen was available. Asahi Pale Ale at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant was unexpected. The dishes are not carried by people, but are delivered on a slide conveyor. For my second drink, I ordered a highball, which came in a small bottle with plastic cup and ice. It was so small that I was surprised. In that case, beer is a better deal. I only ate two plates of sushi. Plastic covers are used, which is hygienic. Sushi rotating on plates is still fun. I was surprised to find corn tempura at Kura Sushi, which I had previously eaten at an izakaya. I ordered three small pieces, which paired well with beer. I also ordered a small chicken dish. You can enjoy hot snacks without having to line up dishes. The tempura udon had fried tempura bits in it. I looked for shichimi (seven spice) but couldn't find it on the counter. When I finished my soup, shichimi came around on the conveyor belt. I wish they would put it on a saucer for me. The TV said the ramen was delicious, so I decided to end my meal with ramen next time. They also had chicken curry. Signature aged tuna for 100 yen and grilled pork belly for 100 yen. Tempura udon (weekdays only) for 130 yen. Choose Kura Potato: 3 kinds of rich cheese potato for 280 yen. Corn tempura for 100 yen. Small chicken dish for 100 yen. Broccoli salad for 100 yen. Craft beer Pale Ale for 600 yen. Highball for 350 yen. Chawanmushi for 180 yen.

Kura Sushi is amazing. The quality of sushi at this price is impressive. By using the app to make a reservation, you can get seated with little to no wait. The kids will be thrilled with the surprise toy. Kura Sushi is really great.
