I visited Yoshinoya for the first time in a while because I received a LINE coupon for 30 yen off. The oyakodon was much tastier than I had imagined. The chicken was tender, the egg was soft, and the sweet onion added to the satisfaction. I would like it to be a regular menu item.

I wonder how many years it has been. I tried visiting Yoshinoya! I had a very luxurious meal with a set of gyudon and gyu teppanyaki! The portion was generous and the taste was perfect! Delicious. And all this for less than 800 yen! It's cheap, right! I was impressed to come here after a long time. Thank you for the meal.

The new product released this month is perfect for the current weather that still feels a bit early for spring. I'm curious about the strategy behind it. As for the taste, the special yakiniku sauce with gochujang is spicy but comforting. When it's put on the grill, a delicious aroma fills the air and stimulates the appetite. I enjoyed it until the last bite. Next, I want to try the kalbi version.

When you're short on time, Yoshinoya is a great option. Today, I think I'll have the curry. When I sat down, they recommended the Beef Sukiyaki Set. I haven't had it in a while, so I decided to try it. The best part is that you can get a free extra serving of rice. The flavor is rich and slightly sweet, making the rice go down easily. Before I knew it, I had finished the extra rice. There was still some meat left, but I found out that you can get a free refill of rice. I decided to get a smaller portion this time. It's great that there are plenty of vegetables like cabbage mixed in, making it a healthy meal. I'll definitely come back to eat here again.

Yoshinoya's Math. (laughs) The Yoshinoya located at the east exit of Ikebukuro Station is becoming a nostalgic old-style establishment. The menu photos on the panel above the kitchen are quite nostalgic. Now, let's talk about "Yoshinoya's Math." My usual go-to order recently is the "Extra Beef Bowl" and "Clam Soup." Normally, the "Beef Bowl - Extra Beef" (569 yen) + "Clam Soup" (195 yen) would cost 764 yen. However, from 4:00 AM to 11:00 AM, I opt for the "Morning Beef Set." The "Morning Beef Set" includes various sizes of beef bowls, miso soup, and a choice of small side dish. Originally priced at 499 yen for a small beef bowl set, it's a great deal with change coming back from a 500 yen coin. So, sticking to that one-coin style, it becomes quite cost-effective. "Morning Beef Set - Small" (499 yen) + "Upgrade to Extra Beef" (143 yen) + "Upgrade to Clam Soup" (121 yen) totals 763 yen. In other words, it's 1 yen cheaper and comes with a free choice of small side dish. As always, I enjoyed my meal. Yum, yum, thank you for the meal. (By Kyonatsu Shuusora, 2022.11.2) (44 reviews/3.11)

I use it several times a week, but because it's Yoshinoya, I didn't think it was necessary to post on Tabelog. However, I used it for the first time in a while. There are various chain stores for beef bowls, but Yoshinoya's beef bowl has a rich flavor, a deep taste, a rich meaty flavor, and a good aroma, making it the best. Thank you for always providing the best beef bowl in terms of cost performance. *I know it comes out of a dispenser, but the miso soup was a bit weak. Well, that's just a minor issue, haha.

Beef and Barley Torodon 602 yen. Can't grab it with chopsticks! *Beef and Barley Torodon with less rice. The price is equivalent to a regular serving. It consists of barley rice with beef, okra, and grated yam. When I tried to avoid the beef at the top, I could see the barley rice. I couldn't grab or mix the grated yam with chopsticks, so I decided to mix everything together. After that, I leaned over the bowl and ate it in a messy way! It's not very polite, but I couldn't think of any other way to eat it... So, it smoothly slid down my throat. I made sure not to forget to chew! Delicious.

This is a story from a little while ago... I tried the new Oyakodon (chicken and egg rice bowl) from Yoshinoya, which seems to be a response to Nakau. The price is 398 yen (excluding tax), slightly lower than Nakau. As for the taste... there are quite big pieces of chicken in it. The onions are cut in large chunks, similar to the Gyudon (beef bowl). The egg is soft and has a nice rare texture. The sauce is much richer compared to Nakau, making the rice at the bottom of the bowl turn dark brown. It feels a bit rough compared to Nakau, but it still has the Yoshinoya taste, which I think is good. I would like to eat it again. \(^o^)/

The rice portion was supposed to be regular, while the beef was slightly larger. However, the rice portion seemed quite generous, while the beef was just average. The taste, including the sauce, remains delicious and unchanged from the past. It's really tasty! I'm hooked. The total bill was 547 yen including tax. Thank you for the meal!

The rumored parent-child donburi was just as expected. The broth was rich, the soy sauce flavor was strong, and the chicken was large and tasty. The bitterness of the leeks paired well with everything. The broth soaked through to the bottom of the bowl, but it wasn't excessive. This quality at this price point is great for a satisfying lunch or dinner.

I was hungry and decided to have dinner. I ordered Gyudon with extra sauce for the first time and when I asked if I could just have the sauce, they gave it to me. It was so delicious that I was blown away. Thank you for the meal! ⭐

New Caligari Nikudaku Gyukare (Caligari Meaty Beef Curry) - 657 yen
I didn't know Caligari, so when I saw this menu name, I was puzzled. Later, I found out that it is a curry supervised by Caligari, who won the Kanda Curry Grand Prix in 2019. This is a new menu starting in December 2021. However, it is quite a challenge to put Caligari into words or describe it.
The curry comes with the usual rice and toppings. The curry itself is slightly thick with no visible ingredients. It has a medium level of spiciness. I can taste a unique sweetness and depth of flavor that is reminiscent of chocolate or coconut. It is quite delicious, but I wish there were more distinctive ingredients or features to make it even more enjoyable. Also, instead of pickled ginger, I would prefer Fukujinzuke. Bon appétit!

I went to Yoshinoya to take advantage of the #DiningOutEmpowers campaign before the end of the year. In these times, a 10% discount is very much appreciated. I ordered the beef sukiyaki set, which warms both the heart and body. I enjoyed dipping the hot meat into the egg. The white cabbage and green onions had absorbed the flavors just right and tasted delicious. The chewy texture of the udon was a nice touch.

I went to Ikebukuro. While looking for a Yoshinoya near Ikebukuro Station, I noticed that the number of stores had decreased. I found the Minami-Ikebukuro store and decided to go in. There was a notice of a price increase for beef bowls at the storefront. The inside of the store was crowded. The staff seemed to be on break as there were only a few of them. I decided to keep it simple and ordered a pork bowl. Unlike Sukiya, Yoshinoya's pork bowl is cheaper than the beef bowl. It was delicious for the price. I quickly finished my meal, paid, and left the store. Thank you for the meal.

- Gyudon (beef bowl) 426 yen
- Super size 473 yen
- Egg 74 yen
- Miso soup 74 yen
Located at exit 39 of Ikebukuro Station on JR, Tokyo Metro, Tobu Tojo Line, Seibu Ikebukuro Line. Walk towards Meiji Street from East Ikebukuro Park Street, next to "Junkudo Bookstore," you will find "Yoshinoya South Ikebukuro Store." I visited today to redeem my shareholder benefit voucher.
Yoshinoya Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, established on December 26, 2013) is a nationwide chain of beef bowl restaurants. The interior of the store has two counter seats in a U-shape and is relatively spacious.
I ordered my go-to menu, the "Gyudon," in the "super size" with extra sauce, an egg, and miso soup. The dish features beef from North America, specifically the "short plate" cut, marinated in a sauce containing white wine and fermented seasonings. The savory taste of the beef soaked in the sauce, combined with the crunchy texture of the onions, is delightful. I like to add a bit of acidity with pickled ginger and mix in the raw egg before eating. It's still delicious.
However, I find the amount of sauce a bit lacking, and the miso soup has a somewhat disappointing taste of being from a retort pouch.

Yoshinoya is Yoshinoya. I think Japan's convenient and delicious restaurants are wonderful. Among them, Yoshinoya always receives high ratings. It specializes in fast casual packaging and is constantly evolving for dining use. On this day, after wandering around hungry, I ended up choosing Yoshinoya and was satisfied after the meal. Japan is a great country.

Using LINE discount, the total came to 607 yen. Wow, it's delicious, fast, and cheap. The grilled meat was just as described on the menu. The overall seasoning was on the stronger side, typical of chain restaurants. This made the burnt parts of the onion a bit bitter. However, the crunchy green onions on top of the meat helped balance out the bitterness. It stayed hot until the end, and it's a menu item I would want to eat again.

The only Yoshinoya in the east exit of Ikebukuro Station. In the Ikebukuro area, there used to be three Yoshinoya locations: Higashi-guchi, Minami-Ikebukuro, and Higashi-Ikebukuro near Higashi-Ikebukuro Station. In the west exit, only the Ikebukuro Kita-guchi location remains, while Ikebukuro Rosa and Ikebukuro Nishi-guchi locations have closed down. Out of the six locations that used to exist, only one remains in the east and west exits each. This Yoshinoya is an old-style store with A and B counters separated by islands, similar to the Yurakucho underpass type. The store staff used to shout abbreviations like "A counter, regular size!" The W set meal, with gyudon and gyukarubi, along with a burdock salad, was ordered. The total bill was 919 yen, which felt high due to the 2% consumption tax. The hot food, ceramic bowls, and free rice refills are some advantages of dining in at Yoshinoya. The gyukarubi was surprisingly good, with a rich and slightly sweet sauce. The gyudon was also delicious, though the broth was too good to waste, so it was turned into a donburi. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

Pork bowl, small size, Set A, 512 yen. Set A comes with salad and miso soup. Choosing the small size added an extra 22 yen. The pork bowl consists of pork belly cooked in a sauce and served over rice. It has a slight ginger flavor in the sauce, which may vary depending on personal preference. The sauce was not evenly spread on the meat, but rather sparsely distributed. I don't have a strong memory of Yoshinoya's pork bowl, but preferences may differ between beef and pork options. That's it.

Beef Kalbi Ginger Stir-fry Bowl Small Size 528 yen
Salad, Miso Soup Set 139 yen
Dressings, the kind that you break and pour in. Two come with it. One is clearly roasted sesame dressing. The other is white. My guess is mayonnaise. Since I ordered ginger stir-fry, I tried pouring it on, but I'm not sure if that was the right choice.
Beef Kalbi Ginger Stir-fry Bowl, as the name suggests, is beef kalbi stir-fried with ginger. It also has cabbage on top. The sauce is rich and slightly salty ginger stir-fry sauce. The beef kalbi is a bit thick and chewy. It takes a bit of effort to chew it with your teeth.
After eating, I thought that meat with this kind of chewiness would be better served on a separate plate rather than in a bowl. I still prefer to eat bowl dishes quickly and energetically. But Yoshinoya is really trying hard with their menu changes. It seems to be contributing to increasing the average customer spending. Thank you.
