I didn't have much time, so I used it for lunch. It's a chain restaurant, so I didn't have high expectations, and the taste was just okay for the price. The cost performance is good, but the satisfaction with the sushi was low. It's a good place to use for lunch when you want to eat sushi and don't have much time.

Visited on Sunday, May 14, 2023 at 18:10. The ticket machine showed a waiting time of over 80 minutes, so I was considering giving up, but then my number was called right away! There was miraculously one empty seat at the counter, and it seemed like there was no one waiting ahead of me. It seems that Kura Sushi has also raised their prices. Despite coming to a sushi restaurant, I ended up ordering fried chicken, onion rings, tempura, salad battleship sushi, and finished with fatty tuna. The total bill this time was 3 plates at 150 yen each and 6 plates at 132 yen each, totaling 1242 yen. I was able to pay the full amount using Rakuten points that I had saved up from the Rakuten Super Sale.

Kurazushi. I was impressed by the system where you don't have to interact with any staff at first. Also, I was amazed that there were semi-private rooms even though it's a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. (Although I honestly thought that this could lead to some recent malicious pranks.) I was also impressed by the surprise gachapon toys. The clever storage of plates and soy sauce was also impressive. Despite being in Shibuya, I was able to enjoy my meal without feeling crowded by people. Overall, I was overwhelmed by the experience. As for the taste... it was decent for the price. But I ended up forcing myself to eat more just to try the gachapon.

I went to the popular conveyor belt sushi restaurant Kura Sushi, which regularly holds campaigns and has many commercials. This time, they were having a New Year's + Crab Fair. The sushi was very fresh with a strong sweetness overall. Despite being a chain restaurant, the quality of the sushi rice and the freshness of the ingredients were quite high, making me realize the cost performance once again. There were no thawed or left-too-long ingredients, everything was fresh and delicious. The restaurant was crowded, with a lot of people waiting, so I recommend making a reservation online, especially during peak hours.

Since the end of the year until New Year's Day, I've been continuously dining out, and by January 2nd, my stomach was already tired. I wandered around the Shibuya area wondering what to eat, and ended up at Kura Sushi after 6 pm. Even though it's no longer 100 yen, Kura Sushi is still well-made. Everyone was waiting patiently. The system is great, and even though it's not 100 yen anymore, it's still affordable. It's amazing how well Japanese chain restaurants are run. I wonder if they can keep it up... I thought to myself as I ate at Kura Sushi on New Year's Day.

Tonight, I also used Goto Eat. I visited on Saturday at 18:20, and it said there was an 80-minute wait, but there were empty seats to wait in and I was alone, so I thought it would be quick and got a waiting ticket. I couldn't find a sticker either, so I asked a staff member while waiting, and they said it was okay. After about 15 minutes, three solo customers were called before me, and I thought things were going smoothly, but suddenly all the counter seats were full, and only groups were being called from there! While this was happening, customers who had already been called started coming back, and I finally got seated at 18:55, 20 minutes later than expected. Unlucky, I thought, and to make matters worse, my seat number was 42. It's been a while since I've been to Kura Sushi in Shibuya, maybe about a year since the last time, or since they raised their prices. Well, first I looked at the menu... the prices have gone up quite a bit, it's painful with inflation. Well, I had to go with it, so I started with some fried tempura and fried items. The fried food was as good as ever, freshly fried. And I ordered from the cheaper items first, and finished with salmon roe and fatty tuna. The total was 2,200 yen including tax. I thought I would have to call a staff member for Goto Eat, but the person in front of me used a Kura Sushi voucher, so the staff member came over and I followed suit. Two 1,000 yen Goto Eat vouchers and 200 yen in cash. It feels quite expensive now that the prices have gone up.

I made a reservation the night before and visited at 1:00 PM on Sunday. I was excited after watching it on TV (Jobtune), so I mainly ordered the dishes I saw on TV. The tuna yukke gunkan was my first time ordering it, but I would like to order it again next time. The hand-rolled premium ikura three varieties was satisfying at this price. Thank you for the meal. ☺︎

Kura Sushi opened in Shibuya, and I found it on a rainy day when I wanted to eat a quick meal. The restaurant was crowded with many young people, typical of Shibuya. It had been a while since I last visited Kura Sushi, and I was looking forward to it, but I felt like something was off. I'm not sure if it was because of the specific store or if they changed their ingredients, but it wasn't the Kura Sushi I remembered. The Gachapon with each plate was still fun, and I enjoyed it, but I might not visit again for a while. Thank you for the meal.

I stopped by for some drinks and snacks in Ebisu on my way back via Shibuya. It was a weekday but there was a wait. - Ordered - ■ Pale Ale ■ Swordfish sashimi gunkan sushi ■ Clam with salt dressing gunkan sushi ■ Assorted sashimi platter The wait was long, so I couldn't eat much as my appetite had subsided. It was rare to see swordfish on the menu.

I ordered the large shrimp, double portion of pickled salmon, and hamachi at Hamazushi. The shrimp and salmon were good value at 250 yen each, but the others at 125 yen each may not have been worth it. I went around 7 pm, but many items were already sold out. It's a bit disappointing because I usually enjoy Sushiro.

I tried out "Kura Sushi" for the first time and had a surprising experience! I was inspired to go after seeing Downtown in their commercials. From February 25th to March 6th, they are holding a "2x" Fair where you can enjoy double the amount of sushi. The photos were taken before the fair started. I missed out, so I have to go again! During the fair, you can get 2 pieces of sushi for the price of 1, with large toppings that almost hide the rice. Popular choices include "2x Fresh Salmon" (220 yen), "2x Medium Fatty Tuna" (220 yen), "2x Crab Sushi" (220 yen), and "2x Shrimp Tempura Hand Roll" (110 yen). The shrimp tempura hand roll is 2 pieces for 110 yen! They also have a game called "Bikkura Pon" where if you slide your empty plates into a slot on the table, you can play a game and win prizes after collecting 5 plates. Due to this system, it was difficult for them to introduce high-priced sushi. However, Kura Sushi has now started a series of high-end items, with the second release being the "Ocean's Three Treasures Chirashi" (680 yen) available from February 25th. It is a luxurious dish filled with abalone, sea urchin, and salmon roe, like a jewelry box. Customers who are familiar with Kura Sushi mostly make reservations through the app. If you go without a reservation, you may have to wait for a while. I would like to study the differences between the four major conveyor belt sushi chains - Sushiro, Hamazushi, Kura Sushi, and Kappa Sushi. And finally, the amazing twist at the end! When I asked a staff member where the crepe corner was, they said, "That would be at the Harajuku store." It seems I mistakenly thought I was at the "world's most Instagrammable sushi restaurant," Kura Sushi, but I was actually at the wrong location!

I ordered a seafood bowl for lunch, which cost 580 yen including tax. I like that the price is displayed with tax included. The bowl came with a hot chawanmushi, which was a nice addition. I think seafood bowls are a good value when you want to eat seafood. I was curious about the seafood being flattened in the bowl, but the taste was delicious. I was happy that there was plenty of ikura (salmon roe) to enjoy. I went there on a weekday at exactly 12 o'clock, so it wasn't crowded. The counter seats gradually filled up afterwards. I wish they allowed reservations for solo diners.

Category: [Tokyo] Sushi ☆ Shibuya Lunch Lately, the variety of seasonings in the condiment tube has been increasing, making it very convenient. I often use soy sauce and garlic. However, when it comes to "wasabi," I've noticed that the taste can vary significantly depending on the product. The taste of wasabi can change a dish. As someone with a refined palate due to enjoying delicious wasabi from Izu, I want to be particular about this. So, I started researching and came across a recent post by a friend blogger. https://draftbeer.jp/recipe/41812/ (Unauthorized link) It was from a certain beer blog by a certain Shouhei Takabashi. When I sat down, I couldn't find any wasabi. I was disappointed, thinking that Takabashi might have been mistaken. But then, to my surprise, plates of donburi and wasabi started circulating. In the midst of the pandemic, perhaps they wanted to deliver without touching various customers. Each one was individually packed and kept circling with ponzu and shichimi. Noodle and popular nigiri lunch (ramen) 780 yen Compared to genuine wasabi, it has a strange sweetness, but the aroma and freshness are quite good. Compared to other tube types, it has less moisture and leans towards the taste of real wasabi. When enjoying delicious fish at a reasonable price in local areas, I always worry about the wasabi. For example, when having a Hokkaido uni bowl, there are many moments where I can't fully enjoy it because of the emerald green paste wasabi. Eating wasabi from Kura Sushi now, I wished they at least used Kura Sushi's wasabi. Melonpan Oji's blog was not wrong. So, I decided to buy it on my way back. In Takabashi's blog, it was written as 150 yen, but in Shibuya, it was 180 yen. Make sure to fill your wallet with enough money so you don't end up short by 30 yen when you decide to buy it.

There was a live performance at Club Asia in Shibuya, so I went to Kura Sushi. Oh no! I forgot that Kura Sushi doesn't have cola, even though they have a wide variety of alcohol. It was a fail haha. The sushi was delicious though! Thank you to Suu-chan, Ruka-chan, An-chan, Hane-chan, Pippu-baan, and Yukki-chan. Thank you so much!!

I wanted to go to the nearby Sushiro, but the web reservations were full for lunch that day. I was able to get a reservation here 10 minutes before opening. I'm starting to get used to conveyor belt sushi, so it wasn't as impressive as before. Still, we only spent 1,500 yen for two people, so it felt like a great deal. Maybe it's because I didn't drink beer. The self-checkout earns and can use Rakuten points.

I found out that there is a Kura Sushi next to Sushiro and decided to try it for the first time. You can make a reservation in advance through the app, so you don't have to wait in line, which is convenient. There was a line forming before 1 pm on Sunday. The cheapest price is 125 yen for 2 pieces, slightly cheaper than Sushiro. You can order from the touchscreen panel on the table or through the app on your smartphone. The ordered items are delivered on a two-tiered lane. You can throw the empty plates into the slot on the table and press the payment button to see the total amount, then pay at the self-checkout at the entrance. You can use Rakuten points and various cashless payment methods. The "Bikkura Pon Gacha" that I saw on TV had Kamen Rider goods. I gave them to the children of families dining there. We had 18 plates for 2,250 yen. My companion said that Sushiro has tastier rice, but I couldn't tell the difference except for the wasabi that was better than Sushiro's (the wasabi on the table is replaced by the staff every time, and they look cool in their staff t-shirts). There are lunch sets available on weekdays for 580 yen and up (until 5 pm).

First time at Kura Sushi. I've been wanting to go for a while so I'm excited. Everything from check-in to payment is self-service. I don't mind the lack of interaction with people at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, so I don't feel lonely. The times have changed. I order using a touch panel. You can also order from your own smartphone. I ordered octopus, onion, salmon, and salmon roe battleship sushi, as well as miso soup. I chose to have green onions in the miso soup. In addition to green onions, there was also yuzu. There was only one type of fish in the miso soup, probably yellowtail. The miso soup didn't have a strong taste. It wasn't bad, but it was different from what I was expecting. The sushi was all delicious, but I didn't feel like I was really eating fish. Maybe because it was thinly sliced or the portions were small. I didn't have that feeling of "I just had sushi!" The bill was around 570 yen. It was just the right amount. It's easy to get in and cheap, and the food is decently good, so I think it's good to use when you just want to fill your stomach. But if there's another conveyor belt sushi restaurant nearby, I might go there instead. (As of July 1, 2021, ★3.01)

"Kura Sushi on the 7th floor of the Shibuya First Kenko Gin Kyodo Building. The building is directly connected to the A3 exit of the Denen Toshi Line and Hanzomon Line, making it very convenient like a large commercial facility. Overall, I think they maintain a certain level of quality. To improve, they could enhance their seasonal limited-time menu using fresh ingredients. The only complaint I have is that the mango and berries dessert came out frozen."

I visited Kura Sushi for lunch and was impressed by the convenient location along the main road, reminiscent of old family restaurants. The restaurant used to serve until 8 pm, but now closes at 5 pm, which may lead to the lunch menu disappearing in the future. This particular branch is part of the "Beyond Corona" strategy, with plans to open 6 new stores in the city center this season. Located on the 7th floor, directly connected to subway exit A3. I arrived around 4 pm on a weekday and found many customers already there. Reservations can be made through the app, but only for groups of 2 or more, which may be a drawback for solo diners. The menu includes unique desserts and alcohol options exclusive to this branch. The sushi plates are priced at 110 yen each, slightly higher than other places, but they offer adult-sized portions. Upon entering, you receive a ticket with your table number for ordering purposes. I was seated quickly, and the table number was displayed on a board inside. The high-back seats give a sense of privacy, which may appeal to those hesitant about dining alone. Orders can be placed using the tablet on the table or your smartphone, and there's even a game to play. The table is well-organized with condiments neatly stored in the center. The restaurant promotes additive-free ingredients, and the wasabi is freshly grated. The self-serve soy sauce container allows for customization, and the complimentary sides are conveniently placed in the lane. I ordered the popular sushi set with chawanmushi, which arrived promptly after a short wait. The chawanmushi was steaming hot, with a smooth texture and plenty of ingredients. The sushi was oval-shaped and well-cut, with a flavorful and tangy pickled ginger. The chawanmushi was served in a ceramic dish, and I look forward to trying the miso soup next time. Overall, the experience was delightful, and I recommend trying the additional udon or ramen for a more filling meal.

It is located on the 7th floor of the Shibuya Daiichi Kangin Kyodo Building in front of the scramble intersection in Shibuya. Look for the sign that says "Gourmet Town" when coming from the intersection. You pay at the reception and the towels are self-service, you can grab one from under the reception panel. The basic sushi rolls are always rotating, but sometimes it's faster to order from the panel rather than waiting for them to come around. I had a meal of sushi rolls and udon, and the total bill was around 1,000 yen. On the way back, you can take the elevator in the building down to the underground level to avoid the crowded streets and easily access the train station.
