I visited the restaurant for a quick meal before heading to work. There are plenty of gourmet spots in Asakusa, but they tend to be a bit pricey due to it being a tourist area, so having a fast food option like Yoshinoya is convenient. This time, I ordered a regular-sized beef bowl with extra broth. The hot beef bowl was served within about a minute of ordering. I sprinkled some shichimi (seven spice blend) and pickled ginger on top and enjoyed it deliciously.

Gyudon (beef bowl) extra-large size, egg, miso soup ¥805. The price of gyudon has increased significantly in recent years. It can't be helped. It used to be fast, cheap, and delicious, but now it's different. Yoshinoya in Asakusa has many foreign tourists. It only has counter seats, and the acrylic partitions make it feel cramped. I hope they disappear soon.

Located near Asakusa Station on the Tobu Skytree Line, Yoshinoya is a familiar sight. This time, I tried the Gyudon and Kalbi BBQ set meal. The portion was larger than expected. The meat was thinly sliced and seasoned with a rich flavor, making the rice even more enjoyable. I had a delicious meal at the L-shaped counter.

Before 10 pm on a regular day, I entered the usual Yoshinoya store. On my way to a certain business hotel in Asakusa, I stopped by the usual entrance and sat at the counter. I ordered a bottle of beer, salad, beef bowl, and grilled salmon. First, I received a dry beer in a small bottle and said "Cheers." The appetizers arrived on a plate, starting with the salad followed by the beef bowl and salmon. As always, the taste was consistently good. I ordered a second bottle of beer because it was so delicious. Oh, it was really tasty. Thank you for the meal!

After finishing work, I realized it was already past 8 pm and most restaurants were closed. So, I decided to try a chain restaurant this time since my first experience at a chain restaurant was surprisingly good. This time, I went to "Yoshinoya" for the first time in my life. It was great! Even during the state of emergency, they offer takeout until 2 am, which is really convenient. I bought a regular-sized beef bowl for 380 yen including tax. Wow, beef bowls are this cheap? Not even a one coin? I was surprised! I eagerly opened the lid when I got home. It looked pretty delicious. So, I took a bite. Huh? It's not quite what I expected. The rice was sticky and not fluffy, the meat was too thin to taste like beef, the sauce was neither sweet nor salty, just bland, and the onions were white and hard (not cooked enough). Did I have too high expectations? But it's Yoshinoya, a famous chain restaurant, right? Is this how it's supposed to be? Or is it just this particular store? Or maybe because I ordered the cheapest option? Unfortunately, my first Yoshinoya beef bowl experience was a letdown. I guess I'll have to try beef bowls from other restaurants for comparison!

Today, I visited the Yoshinoya Asakusa Ekimae store in Asakusa. I ordered the Ham and Egg Beef Small Bowl Set from the morning menu for 503 yen. Hmm, maybe I should have just ordered the usual Beef Bowl Small. The restaurant has two entrances because it is built on a narrow plot of land. Thank you for the meal.
