This is a yakiniku restaurant that opened in May 2022 in Nishi-Shinjuku. It used to offer yakiniku, sukiyaki, and shabu-shabu as its main dishes along with seafood, but it has now renovated to specialize in yakiniku. The interior of the restaurant remains the same as before. It is a rare high-end restaurant in Sanshi, located underground with a slightly luxurious atmosphere. The ambiance is elegant with dim lighting and spotlights on the tables, and a red carpet adds to the upscale feel. The tables are large and comfortable, with each table equipped with a stove for sukiyaki and shabu-shabu, ensuring good ventilation. The lunch menu offers a satisfying yakiniku lunch for 1,000 yen, giving the impression of lower prices. The system of adding extra meat is still in place, with an interesting rule where you can add one slice of wagyu for 100 yen, premium for 200 yen, and special premium for 300 yen per slice. What I ordered was the Wagyu sirloin set meal (1,000 yen) with an additional two slices of meat (200 yen). Upon ordering, a salad, namul, and kimchi are promptly served. The salad is a Chorogi salad with sesame oil, just like before. A shichirin is placed on the table, and you grill the meat over charcoal. With a smoke exhaust duct on the table, it never gets smoky. The wagyu sirloin is lean like thigh meat, with no fat, making it healthy. It's good for health-conscious women or those who want to actively consume protein. The thickness is just right, and grilling over charcoal makes it easy to cook to the perfect doneness. The portion might be a bit small for one person, so adding extra meat is essential. If you go for about five slices, you'll feel satisfied. The meat is pre-seasoned with a light sauce and the dipping sauce is also light. Previously, there were condiments and a variety of sauces, but it seems they have simplified things to reduce costs. The rice is freshly cooked and delicious, served in a regular rice bowl. The soup is a Korean-style wakame soup, also served in a regular soup bowl. You can get refills of rice and soup, so if you want to eat heartily, be mindful of the pace of meat consumption and refill the rice. The kimchi is radish kimchi kakuteki, and the namul is bean sprouts. This yakiniku lunch has cut back on luxury aspects from its previous format to lower prices. Perhaps due to the lower price per person, the number of customers seems to have increased. It's a yakiniku meal that embodies the affordable and value-for-money essence of Sanshi.
