On a hot afternoon after finishing shopping, I was debating whether to head home or grab something to eat. But when I saw the Vichyssoise soup, I was drawn into the restaurant (laughs). Although the set menu with a drink was recommended, I decided to order the Vichyssoise soup and curry separately as I felt like my stomach would be full. The Vichyssoise soup had plenty of fried onions on top and was really delicious. Since there are Soup Stock branches in various locations, I thought I would come back for a little snack and break on another hot day!

In the summer, they often have curry fairs. This time, I tried green curry at this restaurant I visit frequently. I'll probably separate my posts by taste or type since I visit this place often.

This was my first visit since the weaning food controversy, but everyone from families with children to couples and solo female diners seemed to be enjoying themselves. It's definitely a great place for solo female diners in the bustling city of Shinjuku. The entrance is a bit hidden, just off the main street next to Lumine at Shinjuku South Exit, so it might be a little hard to find if you're just passing by. This time, I chose the Tokyo Borscht with cold green pea potage and regular rice. At first, I thought the portion might not be enough, but as I ate, I found it to be plenty. The refreshing cold soup paired well with the hearty borscht, creating a balanced combination. I'd like to try the curry menu next time. I'm also curious about the bread, so I'll have to try that someday too. If you're someone who struggles to decide on the set menu or soup selection when visiting for the first time, there's a menu right at the entrance, so it might be best to decide beforehand before lining up.

I went to Soup Stock in Lumine! The menu included two Soup Stock sets, cold green pea and edamame potage, lobster bisque, Tokyo borscht, and Yunnan tofu soup. The whole wheat bread was sold out, so I chose the stone oven bread for both sets. The soup stock was consistently delicious! I went after the lunch rush, so it wasn't crowded. It's a great place to stop for shopping in Shinjuku!

Soup Stock Tokyo in Shinjuku Lumine store. Located next to the southeast exit of Shinjuku Station, I didn't notice it at first, but the seating area is large! I tried the sweet, spicy, sour, and refreshing set that makes you feel like you're in China. It was incredibly delicious, with a loop of sweetness, spiciness, sourness, and freshness that was just perfect! I would love to go back while they still have the Yunnan tofu soup and black vinegar with watercress and meatball soup on the menu. I went before lunchtime so it wasn't crowded, but it quickly filled up while I was eating! It's great that they have a fast turnover even when it gets busy.

I stopped by a little after 3 o'clock. This time is not crowded. You can take a number ticket at the entrance, place it on the seat you want, secure the seat, and then go to the order counter. Well, when it's not busy, you don't even need to place the number ticket. I ordered a set of bread and soup for 800 yen. The Margherita soup was tomato-based with lots of small pieces of cheese, and it was delicious. The stone oven bread was also delicious. There are plenty of counter seats, making it easy for even one person to enter the shop. It's nice to be able to satisfy your hunger in a healthy way.

Wow, there was salted cherry blossoms on top of the rice porridge!! The broth tasted like sea bream. Salted cherry blossoms are usually abundant, so it's great to see them being used like this! It had a refreshing spring-like taste and was delicious. If I had to be picky, I would have liked a stronger cherry blossom flavor.

Especially on weekends, it always seems crowded. The counter seats are facing strangers and the distance is close, so it's hard to relax. However, it's easy to get to because it's directly connected to the station, and I like the menu at Soup Stock.

The weekends are always crowded during lunchtime, so I often have to give up because there are no seats available. However, I decided to stop by at a slightly different time this time. And guess what! They had my favorite Vermeer soup! I also got it for takeout. Despite the crowded conditions, the staff were efficient and the checkout process was quick. Everyone was friendly, and the service was impeccable compared to other places. (I do have a slight concern about hygiene when staff members pour soup while handling the register at other places.) I wish they would offer the Vermeer and Van Gogh onion soups year-round! They are just as good as the lobster bisque and borscht, and I would love to visit more frequently depending on the menu. (I already visit various locations about 3 times a week.)

For some reason (maybe because it's cold?), I suddenly had a strong craving for borscht. But I wasn't really hungry enough to eat a lot, so I rushed into the Soup Stock Tokyo store at Lumine. I ordered the regular cup set (800 yen) with Tokyo Borscht and stone oven bread. The borscht was filled with beef, carrots, potatoes, onions, lemon, and sour cream, like a beef stew. It had a tomato's acidity and sweetness. I wasn't sure if it had beets in it. It was piping hot and really warmed me up. The stone oven bread had a crispy crust and a soft inside. It's so convenient to stop by quickly, which is really appealing.

The timing was a bit off and it was raining, so I decided to stop by Soup Stock to satisfy my hunger. I ordered the Regular Cup Set (800 yen) which came with pork and tomato stroganoff soup and stone oven bread. The staff at the counter handed me the new 500 yen coin, all shiny and new. The soup was very tomato-based, like a chunky ratatouille. It's a must-try for tomato lovers! It had plenty of burdock and onions, so you can get your veggies in too. The fluffy stone oven bread was delicious on its own, but also soaked up the soup nicely. I didn't expect the bread to be this good. I didn't realize Soup Stock had improved so much since my last visit! I'll definitely be back to check out more items on the menu.

"Soup Stock Tokyo" is a well-known specialty soup shop. They have multiple locations around the city, often found near train stations like Osaki Station and Futakotamagawa Station. I received a LINE gift card as a birthday present, so I decided to give it a try. The operating hours are from 10:00 to 23:00 (last order at 22:30) and they are open on Sundays. I visited during lunchtime on a holiday and it was a bit crowded, but I was able to eat relatively smoothly. I recommend the "Soup Stock Set" for ¥1060. The rice with a perfect level of saltiness and sesame is simply irresistible. I always get the extra-large portion and would even pay extra for a super-sized portion if they had one. The "Lobster Bisque" is their most popular dish, and I always order it. It has a strong shrimp flavor with a hint of sweetness from the tomatoes, which is perfect for the winter. I also tried the "Nagasaki Goto Surimi Dumpling Soup Curry", which had fish surimi dumplings divided into small portions. The soup had plenty of chunky ingredients and had a healthy feel to it."

I had a delicious soup called Solyanka, which has a unique name. Solyanka is a Ukrainian soup. It is a tomato-based soup with a strong herb flavor, and the highlight was the flavorful sausage. It also had plenty of white beans and barley, making it hearty and satisfying. The sausage and herbs have strong flavors, so it may not be for everyone, but I personally loved it and would definitely have it again.

Today, on the winter solstice day, I stopped by to eat the winter solstice porridge with pumpkin and yuzu, which can only be eaten on this day. I had seen it somewhere before and wanted to try it, but I had completely forgotten that today was the winter solstice. However, when I happened to pass by a shop, I checked the weekly menu to see what they had, and found out it was the winter solstice porridge day, so I decided to enter the shop. I ordered the soup stock set paired with brown stew. I had imagined the winter solstice porridge to be sweet like pumpkin potage because it was yellow, but when I tried it, I was surprised to find that it had a salty taste. The porridge was very delicious, with the mildness of pumpkin and azuki beans enhanced by yuzu and ginger (ginger paste). The brown stew with warm vegetables and cheese was also delicious with plenty of ingredients. I heard that on January 7th, they will be serving seven herb porridge, so I would like to come back if I remember.

The food was delicious as always! There is hand sanitizer inside the restaurant and number tags on the tables, which serve as proof of seat reservation. When you finish eating, you also return the number tag. When leaving early in the morning from Sendai, I usually use the Sendai branch, but for some reason the branch near the police box in Sendai Station was closed. I took a walk around Shinjuku Station and ended up getting lost. I wanted to sit down and have coffee, and I really like the coffee here. But for some reason, I ended up ordering bisque soup, which was delicious. I am satisfied.

There are plenty of seats, and even on rainy days, you can leave the ticket gate without getting wet, which is great. Soup Stock is enough for one meal and also fills you up when you're feeling a bit hungry, so I use it often. As the weather gets colder, I'm likely to visit more frequently.

The soup comes in sizes S, M, and L. The regular size soup and rice set is around 800 yen, which is slightly cheaper than ordering them separately. Most customers are women, but there are also men dining alone. The shop is quick and easy, so everyone feels comfortable dining there. Although there seemed to be fewer soup options than before, they were still delicious. Recently, it seems like curry is popular as it was prominently displayed. I might try it next time.

Oh, it's not exactly mapo tofu, but it's actually a Sichuan pepper curry and it's so delicious!! If I were to compare it to my favorite anime, Golden Kamuy, it would be like "Hinna-sugiru osoma!!" It's just so tasty!! I want to choose the level of spiciness, but I can't decide!! But it's delicious!! I love it!!

There are various limited edition curries available, and I was surprised by how delicious the Sichuan Mapo Curry was. There are also many other limited edition menu items that catch my interest, so I always check the website. Additionally, the wide selection of products at the retail store is also worth noting.

I was looking for a place to eat borscht, but because it was a vague time around 2pm, I couldn't find a place that seemed open. I remembered that Soup Stock Tokyo serves borscht, so I decided to visit there. The restaurant was crowded with women, but many seemed to be eating quickly, so I was able to get in smoothly. It has a casual atmosphere where even solo diners can feel comfortable. I decided to order a set with two types of soup and stone oven bread, which also came with a drink. I chose borscht and shrimp bisque. The soup set was ready the moment I finished ordering, which was impressive. It's a great place for busy people. As for the taste, hmm... For this price, I feel like there are other places where you can get more delicious food, so personally, it was a bit mediocre for me. I wonder why there's lemon in the borscht. The stone oven bread was just warmed up, so it would be nice if it had a bit more crunchiness and aroma from being more toasted. The fact that they are open from early morning to late hours is great, and the sense of security that they are always open is wonderful. The time from ordering to serving is quick, and I think you can easily eat and leave within 30 minutes, so in that sense, it's a convenient place.
