Sakuragaoka area is a place you can reach by crossing Route 246 on a pedestrian bridge from JR Shibuya Station. As the name suggests, during cherry blossom season, you will be greeted by beautiful cherry blossom trees. I visited here with a large group for some business at the beginning of the week. The entrance is narrow halfway up the slope, but it opens up into a spacious area further inside. The interior has a brick-like design, with a bright and open space where you can see all the way to the back. Despite it being early in the week, the place was bustling with salarymen, office ladies, and students from nearby schools. The draft beer is Sapporo Black Label for 410 yen (tax included). They offer a variety of drinks such as shochu, sake, wine, cocktails, and sours. The food menu includes edamame, onion slices, potato salad, fried chicken, charcoal-grilled skewers, and simmered offal and tofu. They boast a "return to the basics of izakaya" concept, with a versatile selection of dishes at reasonable prices. Each dish is not overly large, so you can try many different types of food. There also seems to be a counter, so it looks like a place where you can casually stop by alone. Thank you for the meal.

After finishing a live show at Sakura Hall and not being able to get into the desired restaurant nearby, I ended up entering this place instead. It seems like a typical izakaya despite the atmosphere not being very traditional, but the menu is quite standard. The skewers are delicious, cooked over charcoal, and the black pepper-covered chicken is a unique and tasty dish. They use a QR code system for ordering via smartphones, which was frustrating due to the poor response of the website. They should definitely improve their system.

This is an izakaya. I came here for a second round. The restaurant is located underground and is close to the station. The first drink will be confirmed by the staff, but after that, orders will be placed using a QR code. I ordered the Sunset Wheat Beer (350 yen), freshly sliced prosciutto (390 yen), and Flood Tiramisu (390 yen). For drinks, I got a Punch Lemon Sour (190 yen) and an Oolong Highball (190 yen). The prices for drinks are very reasonable at this place.

There was something called a sukiyaki set meal, so I ordered it for lunch. It was around 800 yen, tax included. But wait, it came with eggs and rice along with sukiyaki? Hmm... can I make a porridge out of this? I gave it a try and it was delicious! From sukiyaki to porridge for dessert, haha! I felt like going home and taking a nap. It was just so enjoyable. I'll definitely go back again!

I couldn't enter until after 2:00 pm on a regular day. It seems like lunch ends at 2:30 pm. Prices have gone up since I last visited last year. The daily special is 690 yen including tax, and the cheapest option, the fried chicken set, is 620 yen. Still quite affordable. I ordered the cold noodles set and it took a bit of time, but it was surprisingly filling. Payment can be made with cash or credit card. They open for dinner (drinks) at 4:00 pm.

The waiter works efficiently and is friendly. During busy lunchtime, the food may take a bit longer to arrive, but usually it comes quickly.

There are enough staff in the open kitchen, but it still takes about 10 minutes to be served. The order can also get mixed up. The extra rice doesn't make a big difference. It's nice that you can get refills for the miso soup. The pickled vegetables are delicious. There are special offers for both lunch and dinner if you follow them on Instagram. It seems like there is no Wi-Fi in the restaurant. They have also resumed evening service (closed on weekends).

I often use this cheap and reasonably tasty izakaya. They had a limited-time item called "Padron," which is like a larger version of shishito peppers on skewers. I had never tried it before, so I ordered it. Each piece had a different level of spiciness, similar to shishito peppers. The one I had was slightly bitter with a nice flavor, and I enjoyed it.

In Shibuya West Exit where redevelopment is progressing, there are few lunch options. Just up the hill from Sukiya, on the left side, you'll find the reliable Tengu-san. After the typhoon passed, it was unbearably hot, so I wished for something like udon. And there it was, the Spicy Sesame Sauce Zaru Udon and Chicken Karaage Set for 600 yen. The udon and sesame sauce weren't amazing, but the cost performance in Shibuya is great.

I don't like city lunches like Shibuya. It feels too busy and if you're not a regular, you feel left out. In times like that, this kind of restaurant is reassuring. It's located on the uphill slope near Shibuya Station West Exit where development is progressing. Most of the staff are foreigners, but they are all polite and speak good Japanese. Maybe they're students from Nikkei University. The daily lunch specials are a good deal, but what catches the eye is the 500 yen fried chicken lunch. Plus, you can have unlimited rice and miso soup! I decided not to overdo it, but if I were allowed, I could have gone for 3 servings with the pickled vegetables. Haha. The price is exactly 500 yen including tax. The taste is consistently good.

The restaurant has a quite spacious interior with counter seats, but it took a while for the staff to come take our order. We finally ordered bottled beer and octopus kimchi. Then we ordered hot sake, but they only brought the sake pitcher without the small cups. The service was inconsistent. The dishes looked cheap and delicious, especially the kamameshi rice dish. The restaurant seemed interesting, but it was a bit disappointing.

Clean smoking area, friendly staff, and affordable lunch options. The curry sauce is on the watery side, which may be a hit or miss for some. The chilled Chinese noodles set is extremely unique, so be sure to check out the menu once.

It is a very ordinary izakaya chain, but when it comes to lunch, it is unrivaled in terms of cost performance in the area. Lunch starts at 600 yen. It is incredibly cheap compared to nearby options. The taste is maintained at the level of an izakaya chain, and they offer large servings of rice with free refills. It is a restaurant that is friendly to those who want to eat plenty. However, be careful as the lunch menu consists mainly of fried foods. Moreover, they do not properly drain the oil before serving, so the food can be quite greasy. If oily dishes are tough for you, you should be cautious.

I was able to enter without waiting even though it was crowded after 1 pm. It took some time until the food came out. I thought the daily lunch special was the cheapest option, but with a refill of rice, you can get full for just one coin with miso soup with wild vegetables and rock seaweed pork bone soup.

Shibuya may be famous, but there is only one safe and easy-to-gather izakaya around here, so it is quite convenient ✨ We visited as a group. It was quite crowded, but we had a great time! We will visit again!! Thank you very much!!
