I went to Shinjuku to watch a movie, and on the way back, I decided to try a tea rice bowl shop at Shinjuku Lumine Est for the first time. When you think of tea rice bowls, you might expect something light, but in reality, it's more like a rice bowl dish. There are various types available, but I ordered the "Luxurious Rice Bowl with Sea Bream and Yellowtail (+ 2 extra slices of yellowtail)" and the "Simmered Pork, Spicy Cod Roe, and Pickled Vegetables Rice Bowl". I ate about half of it like a normal rice bowl, and then transferred the remaining half to a tea bowl, added nori, bonito flakes, wasabi, etc., and ate it as tea rice. It wasn't mind-blowingly delicious, but it was quite tasty. It was 4:00 pm, but I enjoyed it with a beer.

I love Komelaku so much!! It's mainly located in the Kanto region, so it's not in Nagoya. I love Komelaku, so I was happy to eat it after a long time. The combination of seafood and rice in a box is the best. You can enjoy eating it as ochazuke or as it is. Lumine Est always has a line, so there may be time restrictions.

Summer vacation☆ Went to Shinjuku with a friend to watch a movie. The screening starts at 12:30, so we decided to have lunch first before going. Considering the time and location, this time we chose a restaurant on the 7th floor of Lumine Est. We arrived a little after 11 o'clock. In the past, I have been to Lumine Est a few times, but I always felt uncomfortable because there were always young people there. However, this time it was different, probably because it was still early and not crowded. We looked around at a few candidate restaurants, and the one my friend chose was this one. It seemed to be a restaurant specializing in ochazuke. It could be a nice light meal before the movie. The restaurant was bright and spacious, with various menu options. Although there were many choices, we decided to go with the Miyazaki Hiya-Jiru Zen, which is a summer limited menu priced at 1,562 yen including tax. You can choose from 4 side dishes: A: Pork ginger, B: Chicken Karaage, C: Chicken Nanban with tofu tartar sauce, D: Avocado, tuna, and mushroom with sesame sauce salad. We chose D because it seemed the lightest option. This was only the third time in my life having hiya-jiru. First, we had rice, salad, and hijiki, then when we were about halfway through, we mixed the rice into the hiya-jiru. The miso flavor was refreshing. The portion was larger than expected, and we were quite full. During the movie previews, I ended up falling asleep... The restaurant allowed separate payments, and the staff, including an elderly lady, made the atmosphere pleasant. If I have the chance, I would like to visit again in the future☆

I found this restaurant on the 7th floor of Lumine Est Shinjuku that offers quick and easy meals. I visited on a weekday and there were a few people waiting in line, but the turnover was fast so I was seated quickly. The seating inside was close together but there were plenty of seats. They offer a wide variety of ochazuke so you can choose according to your mood, which was nice. I was torn between the middle cut and the two-color maguro ochazuke, but I ended up choosing the latter. The cute explanation made me happy. I felt like my mind and body became healthier after eating there.

I arrived before 12 o'clock and was able to enter without waiting. After much deliberation, I ordered the Yuzu-scented scallop and salmon tataki rice bowl (1265 yen) in a large portion (probably for free). It arrived in about 5 minutes. The staff kindly explained how to eat it, so I was able to enjoy it smoothly. I poured the accompanying sauce over it. This sauce is incredibly delicious. It has a strong pepper flavor and the salty sauce goes well with the rice. While eating, I thought that I would like this sauce to be sold separately. The combination of this sauce with sashimi is excellent! It's a different way of enjoying seafood compared to eating a seafood bowl with soy sauce, with a deeper flavor. I finished it in no time. Thank you for the meal. Additionally, after paying and leaving the restaurant, I saw about 5 people waiting outside, so I felt lucky about the timing. (Around 12:30)

I visited the restaurant around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. The place was packed and there was a line, so I had to wait for about 20 minutes before being seated. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed due to the crowd, but I ordered the Negitoro Tamagodon. Surprisingly, it arrived in less than 10 minutes. The quality was top-notch with well-prepared ingredients and delicious flavors. Adding the broth to the dish created a different but enjoyable taste. You can also customize by adding bonito flakes or rice crackers for a change in texture. The best part is that the broth is free for refills, which is a nice touch. Although it's a chain restaurant, the food was surprisingly tasty. Thank you for the meal!

My favorite restaurant, Komeraku, is also located on the 7th floor of Lumine Est. On this day, I felt like eating some Japanese food, so I casually walked in. While there were some older men at the Ebisu Atre branch, Lumine Est was filled with young women as usual. The atmosphere was calm and there were counter seats, making it easy for women to dine alone. Here is what I ordered on this day (tax included): - Salmon and salmon roe Hokkai rice: 1,496 yen This is Komeraku's most popular menu. It had plenty of salmon and salmon roe, perfect for salmon roe lovers. The dish was served quickly, arriving shortly after ordering. First, I ate the salmon and salmon roe rice from the wooden tub, then poured the broth into the bowl to enjoy it as ochazuke. I added seaweed, bonito flakes, rice crackers, wasabi, and made a delicious ochazuke with bonito flakes. The portion was decent, allowing me to eat quickly while still feeling satisfied. I also liked that it came with a small side dish. I received a special coupon that is not available at Ebisu Atre. Although the prices are a bit high, I can get a 20% discount on my next visit, so I might use it. I will definitely visit again.

I wanted to eat vegetables, so I opted for the soup set, which is rare for me. It was a voluminous dish with lots of vegetables, so I was satisfied. It's cost-effective too. Also, the message from the staff was cute. It's a nice place to go alone and drop by spontaneously!

I happened to pass by a restaurant and had lunch there. I ordered the seafood yukhoe set. It was delicious to eat it with the yukhoe sauce first, then as ochazuke with dashi. You can also add wasabi and round things for toppings to enjoy different flavors! The taste was great, and the portion was just right for women. I was also very satisfied with the service from the staff. It's perfect for lunch.

I feel like there have been a lot of new restaurants opening up in the past few years that cater to the Komelac style. I find myself drawn to these places that seem to appeal to women. This particular restaurant's concept is serving a rice bowl that can be turned into ochazuke (rice with tea poured over it) afterwards, allowing you to enjoy it twice. It was delicious and lived up to my expectations. The presentation was simple and not overdone, which I appreciate the most. While the portion size was a bit small for me, it was still acceptable. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

The display in front of the store looks so real and appetizing. I decided to order the avocado and salmon rice bowl that I've been curious about. The avocado did not disappoint, it was delicious!

Tea pickled specialty shop in Shinjuku. Located along the underground shopping street connecting the Toei Shinjuku Line and JR Line inside Shinjuku Station. Visited around 5 pm on Saturday, with about half of the seats filled. There are many counter seats, so there are many solo diners. Ordered the Seafood Rice Bowl with Plenty of Whitebait (1000 yen). You can choose the amount of rice from small to large, and I chose medium. It took about 7-8 minutes for the dish to arrive. The bowl consisted of tuna, salmon, scallops, salmon roe, and half of it was whitebait. I drizzled a little wasabi soy sauce and enjoyed it. About halfway through, I switched to tea pickled mode. I added seaweed, bonito flakes, and rice crackers from the table to the bowl, poured broth over it, and completed the tea pickled dish. It was a shame that the broth was warm. The fact that the bowl was cold made me wish the broth was at the expected temperature. The default amount of broth was also small, so I asked for a refill. (Refills of broth are free) It might be good for a quick snack when you want to finish quickly. I like seafood, so I might go again. Thank you for the meal.

I met a friend in Shinjuku, but unfortunately it was raining outside. At times like that, it's great to have a station building directly connected to the train station. I went to Komelaku on the 7th floor of Lumine Est. Since it was Saturday at noon, there were about 10 groups of waiting customers. However, maybe because it's a rice bowl restaurant, the stay time of each group seemed short, and we were seated in about 20 minutes. There were around 20 four-person tables in the restaurant. You could choose from about 10 types of seafood bowls. In addition to seafood bowls, there were also chicken nanban and ginger pork set meals. I ordered the popular "Greedy Rice Bowl" (about 1500 yen). It looked a bit different from the photo, but it had a lot of toppings and looked delicious. I started eating it as a rice bowl at first, but the plenty of green onions were delicious! I think seafood x condiments is the best combination. After eating about half of it, I transferred some to the tea bowl for ochazuke and topped it with seaweed, rice crackers, and bonito flakes on the table. I liked that I could add my favorite toppings in my preferred amount. After the meal, they also served jasmine tea for each person. I love ochazuke because you can eat it smoothly regardless of your physical condition. I was happy to have a good time with my friend.

I visited Komelaku, a specialty shop for dashi chazuke located in Shinjuku Station for the first time. I was in the mood for eel, so I chose the eel chazuke for 1080 yen. It seems like the eel is from China based on the price. First, I tried it as it is. The thick eel and sweet sauce were surprisingly delicious! Next, I added the dashi. The sweet sauce from the eel flowed, bringing out the true flavor of the eel. It does have a slight smell, probably because it's from China. However, the dashi was delicious, so with the right toppings, it could make a tasty chazuke. It's nice that you can freely add nori, arare, and wasabi. Thank you for the meal.

Underground shopping street shop. I hesitated between the udon shop across the street and here. You can come casually and eat quickly! It's quite crowded here. I'm on a diet, so I'm not supposed to eat after 8 pm, but today is an exception. I ordered the sea bream tea rice set. I thought it would come out quickly because it's crowded, but I had to wait for a while. It didn't look like there was much in it, but surprisingly, there was a good amount. The sea bream has quite a generous portion. It's delicious when mixed with the egg. The rice also has a good chewy texture! It's delicious. At Komelaku Keio Mall store, located a 3-minute walk from the west exit of Shinjuku Station in Tokyo, you can enjoy a luxurious tea-infused eel rice bowl for 864 yen. The original price is 1080 yen, but with a 20% discount coupon received during a previous visit, it was discounted by 216 yen. Interestingly, I also used a discount coupon to order the same menu a year ago. After ordering, the dish arrived in about 5 minutes, along with sweet simmered burdock, chilled tofu, and pickled cucumbers.
