The restaurant my gourmet friend from university days had reserved for us was Oh Kama Bar, located in Dogenzaka, where you can enjoy dishes centered around the pot. At first, I was a little surprised by the strong name of the restaurant, but the interior was stylish and welcoming, with a lively atmosphere. The counter seats had a live feel to them, which was great. I left the ordering to my friend because all the menu items looked so tempting. And oh boy, my friend was right - everything was incredibly delicious! The miso-braised beef belly and the unique steamed and baked egg in dashi pot were bubbling hot and offered a wonderful new texture and taste experience. The summer corn karaage was also delicious, with its sweet and savory seasoning. My personal favorite was the Unzen Blue Cheese Ham Cutlet - a combination of blue cheese and Unzen ham that was simply irresistible. The crispy surface, the juicy Unzen ham, and the unique flavor of blue cheese made it addictive. And finally, the rice in a pot! There were so many types to choose from, all with enticing combinations. I went for the red snapper and cherry shrimp tempura rice, a rare and delightful combination. The crispy tempura texture, the plump red snapper, and the aroma of cherry shrimp were all top-notch! I would love to stock up on these as onigiri at home! The restaurant also had a wide selection of drinks, from sake to wine to fruity sours. I'm so happy to have been introduced to this wonderful restaurant. Whenever I want to enjoy delicious food and drinks around Shibuya, I will definitely visit this place again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Today's introduction is the Shibuya "Oh Kama Bar". The Bonkure that makes you want to scream "This is no joke!" is a must-try. The ambience is perfect for a mature date with counter and box seats available. They offer around 6 types of delicious kamameshi at all times and have a wide selection of sake to choose from. The other dishes are also top-notch. The kamameshi, made with carefully selected ingredients, is so delicious that you'll want to eat it over and over again. It's super tasty! Remember, delicious food has zero calories!

Located near Dogenzaka, close to the love hotel district. There are similar vibe restaurants on the 2nd and 1st floors. (Got lost once) We arrived at 9:15 pm for our reservation, and the atmosphere was lively. The open kitchen had a large stove inside the counter, which added to the excitement. We ordered sea grape salad, mapo tofu, chicken meatballs, beef tail rice pot, plus beer and two glasses of shochu each. The bill came to around 9500 yen for two people. The taste was average, and the place had a trendy feel. By the way, the meatballs were delicious. However, the downside of the open kitchen was that it revealed some sloppy hygiene practices. They were making drinks right next to dirty glasses, and casually picked up a bowl that fell on the floor (which seemed to be used later). It was a bit disappointing. Maybe that's the Shibuya quality.

Shibuya's trendy "Oh Kama Bar" is a hidden gem in the shady area near Shibuya Hyakken-ten and Urahara. The concept of the restaurant is "kama cuisine," featuring dishes cooked in a pot like kamameshi and simmered dishes, along with a variety of creative appetizers. Everything pairs perfectly with alcohol and the salted kamameshi with tender beef tail is a must-try. The harmony of flavors is so amazing that it's almost moving. I want to go back just to have this kamameshi again! #ohkamabar #TokyoGourmet #TokyoIzakaya #ShibuyaGourmet #ShibuyaIzakaya #JinbochoGourmet #JinbochoIzakaya #DōgenzakaGourmet #DōgenzakaIzakaya #HarajukuGourmet #HarajukuIzakaya #Kamameshi

It was a hidden gem izakaya in Shibuya. The entrance was a bit hard to find, but the food was delicious and served quickly. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was bright. We reserved a course with all-you-can-drink option and it was very satisfying with great value. They had various types of kamameshi, so I want to try them all.

The atmosphere and hospitality of the staff were wonderful, the food was delicious, and the summer limited watermelon sour was cute and tasty! Being able to experience habu sake was amazing! I will definitely go back! I went to the bar for the kama-meshi, but there were so many options that I am looking forward to trying something different next time! The entrance was a bit hard to notice, which added to the excitement and fun of the experience!

A new izakaya opened in Shibuya on December 25, 2022! Located in the area known as "Back Shibuya" lining up with many other shops. This izakaya focuses on the traditional Japanese culture of using a pot as the main dish. I tried the following dishes on this day! Especially delicious were the grilled wild boar leaf and pot rice. The menu for pot rice changes according to the season, so I definitely want to go back again 😊
- Beef tongue carpaccio
- Potato salad
- Seared cod roe
- Grilled chicken with wild boar leaf miso
- Red wine sausage with garlic butter pot egg
- Tokishirazu salmon and salmon roe parent-child pot rice
The atmosphere of the restaurant was also lovely! Definitely check it out for a date or girls' night out

A shop that opened in the entertainment district of Shibuya. While interested in the Mongolian barbecue shop on the first floor, entered through the side stairs. The hidden feel adds to the trendy and clean interior. All dishes are delicious, and you could probably go for two servings of the kamameshi, but adding more halfway through takes time, so it's better to order one for two people at the beginning.

Everything was delicious. The performance was also good, and I was surprised by the low price. The service was good, and I definitely want to go back. The atmosphere is just right, so it's great for a date. If you choose this restaurant, you will definitely think that you have good taste. The scallops were very delicious.

I was a little lost at the entrance, but the excitement of finding it was quite something. The entrance is cute. The variety of wines is impressive. The menu from the pot all looked delicious and it was hard to decide. Other menu items were also very attractive.

I had a great time at this restaurant! Everything I ate was delicious, but the crab spring rolls, shumai, and kettle rice were especially tasty! The cost performance was good, and the staff were friendly and cheerful, creating a pleasant atmosphere. I will definitely go back again! ✨

Located on the second floor of Genghis Khan in the Shibuya, Hyakken-ten area, this bar specializes in kamameshi (kettle rice) and is not a bar where drag queens serve customers. Although their Tabelog rating is still low, the place is bustling with reservations, so it's better to make a reservation. The shumai was filled with plenty of meat and juicy, making it delicious. We only stayed for about an hour on this day, so we didn't order their signature kamameshi... I would like to try it next time!

The atmosphere was great. It seemed like there were many female customers. The sour cocktail with frozen fruits floating as ice had a colorful and impactful presentation. The dishes we had that day were as follows:
- Appetizer of steamed egg custard with sauce
- Salad with scallops and cabbage
- Truffle sour cream with Korean seaweed salt chips
- Homemade kazuchii (pickled vegetables)
- Shumai (steamed dumplings)
- Rice cooked with spicy cod roe, mackerel, and ginger
- Chicken skin with ponzu sauce
- Pino ice cream and a choice of candy or bubble gum
The most delicious items were the rice and kazuchii. The rice had a nice amount of mackerel fat and ginger flavor, and we enjoyed it all in one go. The shumai was large and satisfying, even for men. The chicken skin with ponzu sauce was too salty for my taste. Both the food and drinks were colorful and had a unique twist to each item, which was very appealing. It's easy to see why this place is popular with female customers. Another great thing about this restaurant is the friendly and harmonious atmosphere among the staff. Even if the food is delicious, a tense atmosphere among the staff can ruin the dining experience. That's why this sense of comfort in a food and beverage establishment is so important.

No, no, it was delicious. A perfect hideaway spot. In the first photo, the beer and appetizer (porcini mushroom chawanmushi) were amazing. The chawanmushi had a deep flavor with the scent of mushrooms and broth. In the second photo, the signature dish of pork miso stew was outstanding. The thick pork with ginger and miso had a strong and bold flavor that paired perfectly with the beer. In the third photo, the blue cheese ham katsu looked delicious and tasted even better with its crispy coating and juicy meat. It was a perfect match for beer. In the fourth photo, the red wiener with garlic butter egg was a delightful combination of sweet wiener and savory egg. It had a gentle flavor that complemented the previous bold dishes. In the fifth photo, the potato butter dish was rich and addictive with its cheesy and buttery texture. Before the sixth photo, we also ordered tempura and grilled sea bream with rice cooked in a pot. The tempura had a crispy texture and great flavor, while the rice was equally delicious. We were so impressed that we ordered two more servings of the pot rice. In the sixth photo, the chicken and kinpira pot rice was a delightful combination of bone-in chicken, crunchy vegetables, and flavorful rice. The sweet vegetables and chicken broth created a perfect harmony that made it hard to stop eating. Lastly, in the seventh photo, the mackerel and mentaiko ginger pot rice had a strong ginger flavor and tender mackerel that enhanced the sweetness of the rice. The unexpected addition of mentaiko added a rich and flavorful twist. Thank you for reading this long review. The pot rice takes about 30 minutes to prepare, so keep that in mind. This restaurant was truly delicious, and I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

There was no particularly eye-catching sign at the workplace with colleagues. We entered through a somewhat hidden door on the first floor, which led to a lively reception by energetic staff when we climbed the stairs. The interior of the restaurant was full of customers, mostly couples and women, despite the early hour. The service was quick, and the food was delicious. The staff explained the menu and the signature dish of kamameshi in a detailed manner. As we left, they even offered us candies in a basket for a refreshing finish. Bath salts were scattered around as a quirky touch, and we left the restaurant with a Babu bath salt in hand.

After visiting "Seikisio" at the back of the Hyakken-ten in Shibuya, I went to "ohkamabar" on the 2nd floor of the same building. Despite being nervous about the name "Okama Bar," it turned out to be a bar that mainly serves kamameshi (kettle rice). In front of the counter, there were many large kettles. I decided to start with a simmered dish. I couldn't resist ordering something spicy. Spicy food is delicious! Since kamameshi takes time to cook, I placed my order early. I chose the sardine kamameshi, which was delicious with a strong ginger flavor. Eating lamb downstairs and finishing with kamameshi upstairs was a great dining route. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant on a regular night. Since I made an early reservation, it wasn't crowded. The staff were very friendly and provided concise recommendations and explanations of the dishes, which I appreciated. They also handled English-speaking customers, which I found impressive. I would definitely like to visit again.

A unique restaurant name that combines "Okama bar" and "Kama rice". I wonder which came first, the name or the concept. The food is all delicious and the staff are working hard and providing great service, so it's become popular.

Basic, the company behind popular izakayas in Shibuya such as Meetman, Jomon, and Goryon, opened two new stores simultaneously on December 25th last year! On the first floor is a Genghis Khan-style restaurant called "Jingisman," and on the second floor is a humorous concept restaurant specializing in hot pot dishes called "oh kama bar." The location is at the back of Shibuya Hyakken-ten, an area that has seen an increase in dining options recently. The interior features counter seats, table seats, and private rooms, with lighting and decor inspired by the hot pot theme. Although I only had a chance to try a few dishes as there were only two of us, I plan to visit again soon for a more thorough review. Highly recommended are the paella-style hot pot rice and the delicious shumai (which I forgot to take a photo of). There are also other unique hot pot rice dishes on the menu that caught my eye. It seems like a versatile place suitable for dates, girls' night out, or group gatherings.

The quality of each dish is high, but there doesn't seem to be any standout weapons. The kettle rice they boast about having a 100% order rate is interesting, with a wide variety. The female ratio is almost 100%. The stay time is long, but the unit price doesn't increase much.
