Among the shops in the Numata series, this 2nd one is a favorite of both my husband and me, and we visit regularly. Numata is a popular shop in Shinjuku Sanchome, known for its tender boiled tongue and Motsu stew (I personally like the curry and salt garlic flavors). The Senmai sashimi is also delicious, fresh and crispy, perfect for a snack. The grilled skewers are also fantastic, with a perfect balance of seasoning and delicious sauce. On this particular day, we ordered the following items: 1. Negi liver - A must-order dish with fresh, rich, and tender liver, generously topped with green onions and perfectly seasoned with salt. 2. Beef tongue in demi-glace - Tender beef tongue with a stew-like flavor, delicious when dipped with bread. 3. Amireba skewer (salt) - Fresh liver wrapped in net fat and grilled, offering a rich and addictive taste. 4. Tongue sashimi - Fresh and crispy tongue sashimi, refreshing yet full of flavor. 5. Fried hormone - Crispy and slightly savory, perfect as a drinking snack with a squeeze of lemon. 6. Beef cheek skewer (salt) - Tender and flavorful, without any unpleasant smell or aftertaste. 7. Beef shoulder skewer (sauce) - Tender and flavorful, with a perfect balance of sweet and savory sauce, and a delicious aroma. Although some items were sold out on this day, the tongue and harami skewers are also recommended. The shop is popular and usually crowded, but the staff are friendly and attentive, and the variety of drinks available makes it a great choice for a night out in Shinjuku Sanchome. The shop is located next to Shinjuku Suehiro-tei and the popular curry restaurant Epitaph Curry. We had a wonderful dining experience and will definitely visit again. I finished work early at 5:00 PM and the sun was still shining brightly in the evening. I was drawn to the famous restaurant known for its simmered tripe, Numa 2nd, which I always have trouble getting into. I ordered a draft beer and the simmered tripe. The tender and flavorful tripe made the beer go down smoothly. I had originally planned to have just one drink and leave, but in a moment of weakness, I ordered a second drink. At the same time, I also ordered grilled liver, harami (skirt steak), and heart. The grilled liver was delicious, with the green onions adding a great flavor. Around 6:00 PM, a few couples came in, making me feel like a lonely salaryman. After finishing my second drink, I requested the bill. It was a luxurious time at 5:00 PM in the summer. Thank you very much.

I have always wanted to try this place, and even though the other restaurants in the same chain were full, I managed to get a table here. Everything I ordered was delicious! Especially the simmered dishes, there were so many options to choose from, I want to try a different one next time! I regret eating so much right before coming here... I will definitely come back for a rematch!

Visited for a second party. The interior of the restaurant was quite compact, but there were both counter seats and tables available. I ate too much during the first party and regretted not being able to order more food. I want to visit again with an empty stomach next time.

I arrived at 21:30 and couldn't get into the main branch, but managed to get a seat here! I ordered the recommended dish "negi (green onion) liver", motsu stew, and tsukune (chicken meatballs). Even though I'm not a big fan of liver, the negi liver was incredibly delicious and I got hooked on it. While motsu stew seems to be the main dish, I highly recommend the negi liver. The tsukune was a bit difficult to eat because the peppers were a bit big, but it was tasty.

If you're looking to drink with a small group in Shinjuku, this is the number one recommendation. Located near Shinjuku Sanchome, Numata-san has multiple stores with good food, great service, and good value for money. It can be difficult to get in with a large group, but it's the best choice for 2-3 people. The number one recommendation is a dish called "tsukupi," which is skewers sandwiched between fresh green peppers. It's a must-try and always a hit with whoever you bring along. The Negileba in the photo is also delicious, with plenty of sesame oil and green onion sauce.

"Numata 2nd, a specialty shop for simmered pork offal, is located about a 3-minute walk from Shinjuku Sanchome Station. On this weekday evening before 8 pm, the main store, Numata, was already full. The staff directed us to the 2nd store, which was also almost full, but we managed to snag seats at the counter. The atmosphere in the retro-themed interior was lively with a mix of office workers and couples. We started with a highball toast and quickly ordered our dishes: - Simmered pork offal in miso broth (473 yen): The pork offal in miso broth had a rich and deep flavor from blending various types of miso. The pork offal had a firm and pudding-like texture. - Potato salad (495 yen): A simple and rustic potato salad with chunks of potatoes, ham, and carrots, accompanied by a unique chili oil and garlic sauce that complemented the dish perfectly. - Boiled beef tongue (638 yen): The beef tongue was tender and flavorful, with a salt and pepper seasoning that enhanced its natural taste. - Tsukune with green pepper (473 yen): A large and flavorful tsukune with a strong saltiness, paired with fresh green pepper for a balanced and delicious combination. - Fried pork offal (485 yen): Bite-sized fried pork offal with a crispy coating and a garlic soy sauce seasoning that made it a perfect dish to enjoy with drinks. Among the shops in the Numata series, this 2nd one is a favorite of both my husband and me, and we visit regularly. Numata is a popular restaurant in Shinjuku Sanchome, known for its famous boiled tongue (so tender it can be cut with chopsticks), the motsu stew praised by Hakata Daikichi on "What will we do for the second round?" (I personally recommend the curry and garlic salt flavors), and the senmai sashimi (fresh, crispy, and perfect for snacking). The skewers are also amazing, with perfectly cooked and seasoned items (the sauce is also delicious). The negi reba (fresh liver with no odor, rich and creamy, with plenty of green onions and salt) is a must-order for me every time. I also highly recommend the amireba skewer, which wraps fresh liver in caul fat and grills it, creating a unique and delicious flavor. Other recommended skewers include tongue, heart, and skirt steak with salt, and maruchou and white liver with sauce. The fried hormone is also great, with a well-seasoned coating that pairs perfectly with a squeeze of lemon. This day, after watching the French film "Taxi in Paris" at Shinjuku Piccadilly, we had a great time discussing the movie and life at this beloved Izakaya in Shinjuku. The staff are all friendly and hardworking, and the food and drink selection are excellent. It's a highly recommended spot for a night out in Shinjuku Sanchome. The restaurant is located next to Shinjuku Suenaga-tei and the popular curry shop Epitaph Curry. This day was delicious as always, and we will definitely be back. (Note: The total cost per person includes a couple of extra drinks not shown in the photos.)

It was delicious. The beef tendon stew was especially delicious. The French bread too. I couldn't make a reservation, so I waited in front of the stairs for a long time, which I felt sorry for the staff. While waiting, many people also came, so I think you can't get in without waiting.

I was directed to this place after being turned away from the main shop, and was told "Please go to the back here!" I came in and had bottled beer with boiled tongue and liver with green onions! I saw it on TV and wanted to try it. It was very delicious. Now that it's getting crowded, I think I'll give up my seat to another customer. Thank you for the meal!

I had always been curious about the stew specialty store, Numata 2nd in Shinjuku San-chome, so I finally decided to check it out. The store is located on the second floor and when I went in on a weekday, it was almost full, which was surprising. It seems to be quite popular. I arrived for my second round of drinks around 9pm, and unfortunately, the popular menu items like grilled pork were almost sold out. If you plan to visit, it's better to go earlier. The interior of the store has a retro atmosphere with only counter seats and shared tables. I ordered a drink called "Nuppy" instead of the usual Hoppy (as shown in the 6th photo). Is "Nuppy" a play on Numata-san's name? The truth remains a mystery.

My husband and I both love the shops in the Numata series at Shinjuku Sanchome, and we often visit both the main store and the annex. Among them, Numata 2nd is our favorite because it is still new and clean, and the grilled dishes and side dishes are delicious. We stopped by after watching a movie this day, wanting to have a quick drink before heading home. Since we had eaten a little before watching the movie, we ordered less than usual. We went later than usual, so our favorite grilled liver skewers were sold out, but the heart and harami skewers were still reliably delicious. Also, the negi liver and senmai sashimi that we always order were consistently tasty. The Numata series shops are all popular, so it can be hard to get a seat at this shop depending on the time, but the consistent deliciousness makes it a favorite spot for us. Also, I didn't order it this day because I was full, but I highly recommend the curry-flavored stew, which is a specialty. And the soft boiled tongue with wasabi is also delicious. We'll be back again!

When it comes to popular motsunabe in Shinjuku Sanchome, the first name that comes to mind is Nunota-san. Although they specialize in simmered dishes, their skewers and side dishes are also delicious. Due to their popularity, reservations are essential and same-day reservations are often not available. But don't worry! There are several branch stores nearby. Within a 5-minute walk, there are Nare, Motsuyaki-dokoro, and 2nd, so if you search thoroughly, you can find a place to go. On this day, 2nd was available! We started with a toast with a bottle of beer priced at 650 yen, which was a great cost performance. While munching on the delicious cabbage appetizer, we looked at the menu, but we had to start with Negi Liver for 600 yen. This dish is a must-try. The tender liver with plenty of green onion sauce is pure bliss. Of course, we had to try the simmered dish. We chose the spicy miso for 430 yen, and it was also delicious! The richly simmered flavor was like a thief stealing sake. We also ordered skewers: heart and liver for 150 yen each, and maruchou for 330 yen. We also ordered Nunota's specialty Tsukupii for 430 yen. The Tsukupii may seem a bit expensive at first, but you get two large tsukune and plenty of bell peppers, making it a good deal. The maruchou was huge and juicy! It was so delicious! The Tsukupii was crispy and fragrant, with the grilled tsukune and crunchy bell peppers providing a variety of textures. As a final touch, we added Ami Liver for 230 yen and Chile for 150 yen. I'm pretty sure I had one more skewer, but I can't remember. I mean, Negi Liver, Liver, Ami Liver, how much iron am I getting? Today, we enjoyed every skewer to the last bite! The atmosphere is always lively, and the food is cheap and delicious. No wonder it attracts young people and salarymen alike. I will definitely come back for another iron boost! Thank you for the meal!

The liver is tender without any bitterness, wrapped in fat, with just the right seasoning and cooking, truly delicious. 2. Tongue (skewer) - I also love this. The cooking and saltiness are just right, and it's soft and delicious. 3. Heart (skewer) - The heart here is perfectly cooked with just the right seasoning and saltiness, very delicious. 4. Intestines (skewer) - The sweet sauce is delicious, and the soft texture of the intestines is addictive. ★5. Negi-reba - Another must-eat here. Fresh liver with a rare texture, topped with plenty of green onion salt sauce, perfect for drinking. ★6. Offal tempura - Crispy and with a strong garlic flavor, the seasoning is delicious. ★7. I finally got to see the long-awaited Hondatheater Shisonne solo live. The well-crafted jokes were on another level, I laughed a lot! It ended around 5 pm. I hurried to Shinjuku thinking maybe I could still get in! It's a revisit to "Numata 2nd"! - Grilled leeks - Whitebait with grated daikon - Potato salad - Thick fried tofu - Yakitori (liver, heart, gizzard, upper thigh, cartilage) - Draft beer Yay! Let's dig in! I've been wanting to try the grilled leeks! The low-temperature cooking makes it taste like fresh! So delicious! It was my first time trying the potato salad, but dipping it in chili oil makes it go so well with beer! Every dish is so delicious! Unbelievable! I can't stop smiling while writing this review. I'll definitely go back!

In the past, even on weekdays, after 6 pm, it was usually already full, but maybe due to the worsening situation of the corona vortex, it didn't seem as crowded as before. Also, perhaps due to the effects of the corona vortex, some menu items like skewers had slightly increased in price, but they were still consistently delicious on this day. By the way, the items I ordered on this day are as follows: 1) Grilled liver skewers wrapped in net fat, the seasoning and cooking were exquisite, and it was very delicious. I was able to leave work on time for the first time in a while, so I decided to visit "Numata 2nd," a restaurant I had been wanting to go to. It's located in a drinking alley behind Isetan, and although it might be hard to find, the large sign made it easy to locate. They accept reservations until 6:30 pm, with a limit of 10 seats out of 20 available for walk-ins. I arrived at 6:28 pm without a reservation and just made it in! Yay! Now, what should I eat? I ordered the following: - Grilled green onions - Motsu stew (spicy miso) - White pork intestine - Yakiton (various skewers) - Draft beer - Plum sour - Yuzu sour I actually came here because I wanted to eat the grilled green onions! The rare texture of the pork intestine was amazing, fresh and no unpleasant smell. Eating it with a lot of green onions was marvelous! Delicious! The yakiton was tender, and I especially enjoyed the pork belly skewers. Everything was delicious and surprisingly affordable! I lost count of how many drinks I had, but it's clear why this place is so popular. In the end, I ate the most out of all the customers, and the staff even escorted me outside, saying "Please come again." Perfect service! Yes, I will definitely come back. But I might end up eating too much again...

I love this restaurant and have been a regular since it opened. It's a popular spot, so sometimes you need to make a reservation to get in, but this time we were lucky and got in without one. The restaurant has a long counter and some table seating in the back where you might end up sharing a table with others, so it's better suited for groups of two or for solo dining. Everything here is delicious, but personally I recommend the skewers, which are especially good with their perfect grilling and seasoning. The other dishes are also fantastic, like the melt-in-your-mouth boiled tongue, the tender and spicy curry-flavored tripe, and more. On this visit, we ordered the following items: 1) Grilled Liver Skewer - the best I've ever had, with a perfect balance of tenderness and seasoning. 2) Grilled Tongue Skewer - perfectly grilled with just the right amount of seasoning. 4) Grilled Heart Skewer - delicious with the right amount of grilling and seasoning. 5) Grilled Intestine Skewer - unique texture and seasoning that becomes addictive. 7) Grilled Leek and Liver Skewer - a must-order, with tender rare liver and a savory leek sauce. 8) Creamy Potato Salad - with a spicy oil drizzle that adds a kick. 9) Fried Tripe - crispy and flavorful, perfect for pairing with drinks. The food is always delicious, and their highballs and sours are great too. The staff is friendly and the service is top-notch. I almost don't want to promote this place too much because I want to keep it from getting too crowded, but it's just so good that I can't help but recommend it to others.

This is a shop that I love and have been visiting for a long time. Recently, it has become very popular and sometimes it's crowded, so I try to go early, especially on holidays. This shop has delicious skewers and dishes, but my personal favorites are the skewers like liver, tongue, heart, and intestines. For dishes, I like the curry-flavored stew, fried hormone, raw cow's stomach, and grilled green onions. However, on this day, the very friendly waiter who is always there was not around, and there were fewer skewers prepared, so I couldn't order more of the same, which was disappointing.
