Before leaving Tokyo, I went on a pilgrimage lunch to a restaurant that had the poster of the tournament I watched. It's a meat bar located near Shinjuku Sanchome Station. It's a bit hard to find at first because it's underground, right next to the AIM hotel. The lunch comes with a salad bar, drink bar, and soup bar, all with free refills. I ordered the Wagyu beef, sea urchin, salmon roe, and caviar bowl that a player who tweeted about this restaurant had eaten. I don't like vegetables, so I didn't eat the salad, but there were about six kinds of vegetables and croutons, so the salad bar was not disappointing at all. The soup of the day was a consomme soup with tender beef pieces, and I loved it so much that I had a second bowl. The drinks included oolong tea, iced tea, iced coffee, orange juice, and apple juice, with unlimited ice, which made me, as someone with ice-eating disorder, very happy. The Wagyu beef, sea urchin, salmon roe, and caviar bowl was beautifully presented with sliced Wagyu beef, sea urchin, salmon roe, and caviar. The rice was mild vinegar rice that wasn't too sour. There were two types of salt, sea salt, rock salt, and kombu soy sauce for seasoning, showing attention to detail. The beef didn't have as much marbling as expected, and it was quite refreshing in texture. I like fatty meat, so I felt a bit unsatisfied, but it's a safe choice for those who don't like greasy dishes. The use of salt was tricky, and I easily made it too salty. On top of that, there was salted kelp, so the saltiness overflowed for someone like me who prefers lighter flavors. Although the dish consisted of my favorite ingredients, I couldn't fully appreciate the synergy between them. Maybe I didn't eat it properly. The Wagyu beef, sea urchin, salmon roe, and caviar bowl didn't quite meet my expectations, but I would like to come back for another lunch. I'm curious about the Yukke bowl or the Wagyu beef marinated in miso served with lava stone grilling. The restaurant is underground, so the signal is a bit weak, but the staff kindly offered me Wi-Fi while I waited for my order. Also, the lunchtime lasts until 4 pm, which is quite long!
