After finishing work on a regular day, I felt like having "motsu-ni" (simmered pork offal) instead of motsu-nabe (hot pot with pork offal). So, my wife and I decided to visit a restaurant. It is conveniently located near Mark City, and even though it's underground, there is a sign outside making it easy to find. When we arrived, more than half of the seats were already taken, and even after we entered, more customers with reservations came in, making it a full house. The orders taken from customers were relayed loudly by the staff to the kitchen while typing them into a handheld device. Even when we were unsure about our first order, the staff energetically shouted "all types of oden!" to the kitchen. Of course, if we followed that suggestion as a party of two, we would be full just from the oden, so we decided to order the following: - Red snapper sashimi - Tochio-age (deep-fried tofu) - Special pork offal simmered dish - Beef hormone skewer stew (large) - Ramen as the finishing touch - Draft beer - White hoppy beer set (with refills) The red snapper was fresh and thinly sliced. The Tochio-age was basic fried tofu but we finished it in no time. However, the star of the day was definitely the pork offal! The simmered dish was the best I've ever had. It was rich and delicious! I wanted to keep drinking the broth forever. The stewed beef hormone was also amazing, and I couldn't resist ordering it after the motsu-ni. The broth was so good that I wanted to have it on hand forever. The ramen as the finishing touch was served slightly firm and I finished it in the pot, but it was not the usual portion for "ramen as the finishing touch" but rather the amount of a regular ramen serving, so my stomach was more than satisfied. After leaving the restaurant, I felt like my center of gravity was off due to being so full, but it was a happy feeling. I might end up coming back to enjoy motsu-ni and motsu-nabe again. I visited Shibuya's "Gyutan (beef tongue) and fresh fish Gyufu-ya" restaurant. On this day, I went with a friend in the early afternoon. When we arrived at the restaurant, there was only one other group of customers, and we were seated at a table near the entrance. Actually, I had visited this restaurant the previous week as well, and on this day, we visited another place before coming here. We started with a bottle of beer (580 yen). For food, we had Kinugasaba (golden cutlassfish) (880 yen), pickled celery (380 yen), and the recommended dish of the day (price unknown). For drinks, we tried a comparison of three types of sake (price unknown): Naraman, Matsunotsukasa, and Raku. They were all delicious, and I remember feeling that it was quite a good deal. Also, the service provided by one of the male staff members in his early twenties was fantastic. Thank you very much. There are not many options for Sunday lunch drinks in Shibuya, so I am grateful for this very convenient restaurant. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely visit again. In the latter half of November, on a Friday evening, Shibuya is bustling with many people, but today I had a specific purpose for my visit. Over the past few months, I have been frequenting this particular restaurant in the Shibuya area with my friends. Ever since I got hooked on the beef skewers at their sister store in Yoyogi-Hachiman, I have been using this restaurant a lot, especially because of work in Shibuya. I have become somewhat of a regular at the counter. The restaurant is called Ushikushiya Shibuya Dojunka Branch, located along the street in front of Mark City, with excellent access. They are open until just before the last train on weekdays and until 4 am on weekends, making it very convenient. I usually go alone, enjoying a beer with just one or two dishes, but this time I was with a group of friends, so we ordered a variety of dishes and had a great time! We had beef tail soup (appetizer), smoked cheese, duck liver with ponzu sauce, dried Atka mackerel, egg omelette with leeks and ginger, beef tendon oden, cheese-wrapped potato salad, sashimi platter, assorted beef skewers, horumon kimchi stir-fry, grilled beef horumon noodles, and beef bone ramen. From 5 pm until 4 am the next morning, we ate and drank heartily! Everything here is delicious. From the beef horumon skewers made with Ishigaki beef to the fresh seafood options, the lineup is fantastic. The original creative dishes are also satisfying. The beef bone ramen as a finishing touch is an absolute must-try. The oden, made with "beef dashi," is another favorite that I always order. What I always notice when I come here is that the other customers all seem to be having a great time, enjoying their food and drinks leisurely with smiles on their faces. There are hardly any rushed drinkers, everyone is here to enjoy the food and drink at a relaxed pace. The service is lively and attentive, making sure to offer refills at just the right time without me even having to ask. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Located between Tokyu Plaza and Shibuya Station on the Inokashira Line, this restaurant can be a bit hard to find with its narrow staircase leading underground. Look for the red lantern, noren curtain, and sign for hormone hot pot at the entrance. The hormone hot pot and other dishes on the menu are delicious, and they offer a variety of drinks as well. On the day I visited, they had a special festival called "Jikon." You can add extra ingredients to the hot pot and they will refill the soup for you. I think we also had a porridge at the end, but I may have forgotten due to drinking too much. The age range of customers is wide, and the average price per person is around 4,000 to 5,000 yen. It's not a cheap place, so the total cost will depend on how much you eat and drink. It was so delicious that we ended up spending around 8,000 yen per person. It was worth it! Recently on weekday nights, I enjoy having skewers and beer alone. Most of the solo diners around me are in their 40s or older, but that doesn't matter. I want to enjoy skewers and beer alone even in my 20s. Today, I noticed a beef skewer restaurant near Shibuya Mark City and decided to go in. They had many counter seats, making it easy for a solo diner to sit. I wanted to have tongue, but unfortunately it was sold out, along with other favorites like upper stomach and small intestine. I ended up ordering liver, striped neck, and heart instead. Later, I added red heart and round intestine. The skewers were not large in size, but overall delicious. They were firm. Especially the red heart and round intestine. You could taste the beefy texture, umami, and fat in good balance. The seasoning was not too strong, and each skewer was delicious on its own. The tail soup served as an appetizer was just okay, but everything else was a hit. I spent 2500 yen in 30 minutes, but I was satisfied, satisfied.

I was really drawn to the menu that said "Shizuoka Oden" and "Miso Oden". Just the regular oden alone is appealing, but adding these special options made it even more delicious. When I actually tried it, it was truly tasty. Especially the Wagyu tendon. Wagyu dashi oden is really good. They also have other menu items focusing on meat and fish, and they were all consistently delicious. As the weather gets colder, I might start craving the Wagyu tendon oden again.

I was drawn into the restaurant by the unusual combination of "beef offal and fresh fish" that I had never seen before. As a mature lady, I should say that the fresh fish was elegant and healthy, but personally, the offal was incredibly delicious! It was the kind of taste that makes you want to say "more rice, please!" I ended up drinking a lot of alcohol instead of eating, but they also serve lunch during the day, so I'm sure I could enjoy a hearty meal there.笑

Shibuya lunch. On this day, I headed towards the Mark City area. A lively corner with restaurants lining the street leading from Route 246 to Mark City. As I was walking, I passed by a restaurant I had never seen before. There was a sign outside saying that they offer lunch and you can also enjoy a drink during the day, so I decided to go in. The restaurant is located in the basement of a building. I went down the stairs to the basement floor. The interior was surprisingly spacious. It had a calm Japanese-style izakaya atmosphere, and it felt clean and new. There were counter seats and table seats. I sat at the counter by myself. There was a menu placed on the seat, but it turned out to be a drink menu. The waiter asked me if I was there for lunch, and then brought me the lunch menu. There were five lunch options and a daily special, all featuring dishes with meat. They all looked tempting, but I decided to go with the Ishigaki beef hamburger steak set. It was priced at 1,280 yen before tax, which came to 1,408 yen after tax. Once I placed my order, the chef at the counter started cooking. It seemed like they were cooking the hamburger steak from scratch. So, it took a bit of time. After a while, a soup was served. It was oxtail soup, with a subtle umami flavor and a nice level of saltiness. It had green onions and sesame floating on top. Next came the salad, with shredded cabbage, tomatoes, and bell peppers, dressed in a rich dressing. Finally, the main dish arrived - the hamburger steak. It was served on a sizzling hot plate. Along with it came rice and pickles. The hamburger steak was quite thick and hearty. It had a chunky texture, juicy meatiness, and a slightly spicy demi-glace sauce that added a sophisticated flavor. Instead of vegetables around the hamburger steak, there were chunks of sinewy meat. The sinewy meat had been cooked to tenderness and tasted delicious with the demi-glace sauce. It went well with the rice. The rice was refillable, which was a nice touch. The restaurant was run by two young men, one cooking at the counter and the other handling customer service. The service was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere and the food were both great, making it a good find. However, I feel like the true charm of this restaurant may be better appreciated when enjoying drinks. I definitely want to come back next time for a drink.

This is a restaurant located at the bottom of Dogenzaka in Shibuya. It was my first time visiting, although I had been curious about it. I finished work early and decided to go for a light drink. The appetizer was beef tail soup, which was very much appreciated on a cold day. - Sea bream sashimi: The flavor was rich and even a little soy sauce made it delicious. It left a slightly impression of being a bit pricey. - Beef hormone skewers: I ordered Wagyu maruchan, upper mino, teppo, and harami. Each skewer was around 300 yen, so it was a bit expensive, but all of them were delicious. Especially the maruchan was a hit. It was also great with spicy leeks in the sauce. - Senmai chojang: A dish of senmai ordered as a snack menu. Chojang is like Korean spicy vinegar miso. The senmai was a bit chewy and could use a little more sauce. I had drinks like Hoppy. The hot pot menu looked very delicious, so I would like to come back next time with multiple people to try the course menu. Thank you for the meal.

I randomly stopped by and was surprised by how good it was! I thought it was just a regular chain izakaya near the station, but it exceeded my expectations by far! The hormone here goes well not only with the drinks but also with the rice. The staff members are fun too, so I might want to visit again. Long live Nachan!
