Since I was a child, I have been familiar with this chick-shaped snack. I sometimes buy it for home consumption, not just as a souvenir. This was given to me as a souvenir, and it is known as a Tokyo souvenir, but I learned that it actually originated in Iizuka, Fukuoka Prefecture. There are many famous confectionery shops like Sakae-ya and Chidori Manju. People seem to be divided into those who eat it from the head and those who eat it from the tail, but I prefer to start from the head. The skin is moist, but the yellow bean paste inside is not too dry or too moist. The ingredients include Kyushu-produced items, making it a good Kyushu souvenir. It may look somewhat familiar, but it can still make an impact if you see it for the first time. Thank you for the treat, it was delicious.

I bought "Hiyoko no Tamago," "Hiyoko no Yakimochi," and "Fuwapipo Pipy" (cream cheese). The "Hiyoko no Tamago" had a chocolate coating and tasted okay. The "Hiyoko no Yakimochi" had white bean paste with cherry blossom leaves inside, and it was delicious and spring-like. The "Fuwapipo Pipy" was essentially a biscuit with rich cream cheese. When I went to Tokyo, I saw a souvenir shop selling hiyoko, and it was labeled as "Tokyo Hiyoko." Well, I guess everyone thinks hiyoko is a Tokyo souvenir, right?

I received a box of 35 pieces of the famous confectionery "Hiyoko" for 3,885 yen. This confectionery was born in the first year of the Taisho era. The sweet bun is shaped like a cute baby chick. It has a fluffy and moist texture with a sweet filling of egg custard inside. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the creation of "Hiyoko," and a Fukuoka-exclusive Matcha Hiyoko, made with Fukuoka Yame's matcha, is being sold for a limited time in the summer. Instead of egg custard, this version has matcha filling, which as a tea lover, I would love to try.

I received the famous Hakata confectionery "Hiyoko" on 23.6.18. The box I bought in Tokyo says it's a Tokyo specialty, but if you buy it in Kyushu, it's a Hakata specialty. Both are correct. Originally, it was a confectionery from Hakata, but it later became a Tokyo specialty when it expanded to Tokyo. The company's strong business spirit led to this dual specialty confectionery. I'm from Tokyo, so I always thought of Hiyoko as a Tokyo specialty. Also, when it comes to Hiyoko, there was a Hiyoko driving game hosted by Kazuo Tokumitsu. Only those of a certain generation would know about it, right? Hiyoko was a sponsor of that show. Anyway, when I eat Hiyoko, I have a unique way of eating it. I eat only the bottom of the skin and then eat the yellow bean paste as it is. But I think there were quite a few kids who ate it this way. The slightly sweet yellow bean paste and the slightly strong-tasting baked skin create a unique flavor. The deliciousness of this never changes. Bon appétit. ★3.5

I visited the restaurant around 11 o'clock before the Bon holidays, with a few customers coming in before and after me. I stopped by Hiyo-ko to buy a gift for my relatives' house, and I also bought a Fukuoka limited edition tea Hiyo-ko. I tried eating it, and it was delicious as always, but the matcha flavor was really good. Surprisingly, Fukuoka and Saga have many tea-producing areas. Thank you for the meal.

I received this from a friend who lives in Fukuoka. I was surprised when I opened it. Why a chick? Isn't it a famous sweet in Tokyo? I thought it would be a popular souvenir to bring from Tokyo, so I looked it up right away. It turns out that it originally started selling in Fukuoka and became so popular that it expanded to Tokyo. With the opening of the Shinkansen, it became very popular in Tokyo as well, so it became a famous sweet in both Fukuoka and Tokyo. In any case, chicks are popular! I like the cuteness of the chick, but I especially like the texture of the skin. I remember peeling off the skin and eating it when I was a child. (Now that I think about it, it's a bit cruel (-_^)) It goes well with Japanese tea and black tea. The balance of the texture of the filling and the skin is perfect.

I received this as a gift. It's a red and white chick♪ The design is cute and modern, with the word HIYOKO giving an international vibe (*´▽`*). When you gently open the lid, you'll see a nostalgic sight♪ Three chicks are sitting on red and white paper (*´▽`*). The contents seem to be all the same, but this kind of small detail is very Japanese, right♪ Chickies are hereeeeeeeeeeeeee♪ So cuteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
