In the morning, I had a pre-meeting in Osaka, and in the afternoon, I had a feeling that things would get intense in Kyoto. Take a deep breath. Time for a meal. While walking, I saw a sign for a dining hall. I decided to check it out. The interior of the restaurant was not very spacious, with dark wooden walls giving it a somewhat stylish feel for a dining hall. The menu displayed showed its age, but there were various dishes lined up on the kitchen counter, and it seemed like the standard practice to choose your favorites and make it a set meal. I chose the set with saury, nikujaga (beef and potato stew), rice, and miso soup for 850 yen. The saury was a bit small but had a nice fatty flavor, and the nikujaga was delicious with its well-infused taste. The miso soup had plenty of ingredients, which was nice. The cost-performance ratio was average, but with the friendly and down-to-earth service and the tasty food, I thought it was a good dining hall.
