I, who mainly focus on drinking at night rather than eating, tend to decide on the drink before the food. There is an indie movie theater in Shibuya that I have been frequenting lately, and right across the street from it is a shot bar called "Bourbon Street" that has caught my eye. I've always wanted to try bourbon, you know. So, the other day, I finally mustered up the courage to visit. Since Shibuya tends to get crowded late at night, I thought it might be best to go early, so I entered just after the opening at 5 o'clock. As expected, there was no one there, but it was quiet, making it perfect for a meeting spot. That day, we had plans to watch two movies starting at 7 o'clock, and I was worried about missing the last train since the second movie would end after 11 o'clock. So, we decided to have a drink before the movie started. At around 5 o'clock on a summer evening, most people would go for a draft beer, but since I was at "Bourbon Street," I had to go for bourbon. I had checked the menu on the website beforehand, and I was delighted to see that they had "Maker's Mark." I ordered a rock "Maker's Mark," and it was delicious. It came with a large round piece of ice, which I really liked. The only problem was that if you tilted the glass too much, the ice would hit your nose. I don't usually drink whiskey at home, but when I drink something delicious at a place like this, I can't help but want more. Moreover, this bar has a wide selection of whiskeys, so I couldn't help but want to try everything. Since I had to watch a movie at 7 o'clock, I could only stick to one type of Irish whiskey and rye whiskey, but there were still more I wanted to try. Maybe I'll stop by on my way back from the movie theater next time? They served mixed nuts and chocolate as a snack, so I only ordered a drink, but the menu also offered various pasta dishes and curry, so you could have a light meal besides snacks. Around 5:30, other customers started trickling in, but the atmosphere remained quiet, which was nice. I had expected bars to be darker, but the interior was bright enough to read a book. The master was friendly and worked efficiently, which was nice. No matter what drink you ordered, he would quickly serve it, showing his professionalism. I learned that a bar could be a good option if you want to meet in a quiet place, thanks to "Bourbon Street." Thank you for the meal.
