"Minion Hachamecha Ride" is one of the popular attractions at USJ, and it is sponsored by Japan Airlines (JAL). There is a lounge for JAL elite members located nearby, although the entrance is not clearly marked. You need to ask the employees nearby, but the lounge is located just a short walk from the exit of the "Minion Hachamecha Ride". JAL used to sponsor Spider-Man in the past, and there was a lounge for Spider-Man at that time as well. This lounge inside Universal Studios Japan is surprisingly different from the typical USJ vibe. Due to COVID-19, the stay time is limited to 30 minutes, and mask-wearing is required except when drinking beverages. The drink selection is similar to a basic airport lounge, but on a cold day, even the corn potage soup felt like a warm treat, and I enjoyed three cups of it.

The place was calm and peaceful without many people. Perfect for a break!

From June 1, 2016 to April 21, 2017, there was a JAL lounge attached to the "The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man The Ride 4K3D" attraction. Now it seems to have been changed to the "Minion Mayhem Ride." Entry requires JAL's JGC Premier member status or higher, and you must bring your status card on the day of visit. Reservations are not required, and up to 5 family members can enter. You need to press the intercom, show your status card to the staff, and then you can enter. The lounge had a model of the Concorde at its center, with around 20 sofas set up. The atmosphere is more like an Air France lounge than JAL. It was mostly empty, providing a cool space to enjoy soft drinks, which was very helpful on hot summer days. The best part was receiving an Express Pass, allowing us to relax in the lounge before being seated in almost the front row of the Spider-Man attraction. This was extremely effective on a day when the wait time was over 90 minutes.
